We didn't finish the meal and should have run when we saw that their idea of a Caeser salad consisted of iceburg lettuce, squeeze-bottled off brand dressing and bagged croutons. The place itself was warm, inviting, and the wait staff were affable enough, but there was a hint of character that of someone who knows they own the building, so they're not going anywhere. The menu seemed appealing if a capable cook was involved, but that was not the case. We ordered the grouper and a ravioli dish. The grouper looked as if it had been doused in raw tomato sauce and was, without a doubt, layered with canned olives. The ravioli was rudimentary at best. While edible, it was not something that should have been put out as a 'special.' Overpriced and underwhelming. Warwick has some really great restaurants. This is not one of them. read more

Very Pricey but hearty I've been here 3 times in the last year. Once for lunch outside on a nice afternoon. got a panini that was not actually grilled or pressed on both sides so it was a little soggy. 2nd time was an early weekend afternoon - seeking brunch which they do not have and there is very little on the menu that is light. I got a pasta dish that was large and tasted good. 3rd time we got dinner upstairs inside with cocktails (very good). The bread with olive oil dip was delicious. again I'd prefer some lighter dish, but I got another pasta that was large and good. I want it to be better, but it is good for what it is. Update 2015: I have been quite a few times in the last 2 years and have come to really like the food. Patio dining in nice weather is great. I added a star read more

My husband and I went to Warwick for a quick trip and decided to stop by this place but we had a terrible experience. My husband and I could not get the attention of the staff and we just waited for a long time while they ignored us. This place does not have any decency. They are sloppy and we ended up leaving before getting a table. read more

So far the service is so awesome I really it how the service the best service yo I would suggest people would come here read more

Grappa Ristorante - A family group photo op - Italian Near Me - Warwick, New York

We loved this restaurant. The food was fantastic (hello short rib ravioli....other worldly) but what really got us was the service. We had my mom and daughter with us. Mom was cold and I was just about to ask to be moved when the manager and I locked eyes and said "you look like you have a question " I told him my mom was cold and he immediately turned the a/c down. And then the waitstaff just understood that we were going to share our meal with our 3 year old. They already split the ravioli and gave her a small plate! Seriously I was blown away by the attentive nature of the staff. Very very happy read more

Great restaurant. The food was really good with lots of variety. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They have a nice drink menu with lots of interesting martinis. The staff was really friendly and helpful and the service was pretty quick despite it being fairly busy at the restaurant. I would definitely eat here again and already have recommended it to a bunch of my friends. read more

My husband and I had a great dining experience at Grappa 2 weeks ago. On a Thursday evening, it was fairly busy, with diners indoors and out. We had a nice table upstairs, the bonus was the jazz trio playing some really great standards. The appetizers were out of this world, both from the "Specials" menu. I had blue point oysters, garnished with caviar and tuna tartar, yum! He had the avocado and yellowfin terrine - really loved it. For my entree, I had Italian sea bass on linguine bed, unbelievable! He had the grouper special, oh heavens! So, so delicious! One of the best things, was the decent interval between courses, no rushing! Very old world. The martini was spectacular, and we shared a delightful Tiramisu. I can't wait to go again. read more

Fantastic - will never let you down. Food and service is always on point. Great wine list as well. One of our favorite places and well worth the 45 minute drive, each way. You won't be disappointed. Pick anything and you'll be impressed. read more

What a lovely surprise this restaurant turned out to be. We were strolling in Warwick and decided to have some lunch here. It was a bit too warm for an afternoon lunch so we asked to be seated inside. What a good decision; we were the only ones in the restaurant. The food was very, very good and the service was impeccable. The menu has the usual offerings you would expect to see in an Italian restaurant, but the taste was far from the usual. Would definitely come back for dinner. Don't miss it! read more

Our wedding reception at this restaurant was described by everyone using one word: "perfect". I couldn't possibly agree more. The service, food and location were beyond our expectations and desires. If you need to have a party of any kind then Grappa should be your number 1 choice. read more

We absolutely love this place. Whether sitting indoors in the winter or outdoors during the warmer months, we have gotten nothing but consistently great food and service here. I love the complimentary cheese and eggplant in olive oil appetizer served as your are considering your order - it is both hospitable and delicious. Cocktails here are always exceptionally good. read more

I thought the atmosphere was ok but it was a little stuffy. Could have used some air. We loved the bread/parmesan olive oil starter and ordered the oysters for an ap. Things were off to such a great start. I ordered a chicken dish that was "ok" and my husband ordered a veal franchese that was super boring and tasteless. Very disappointing since we don't have date night very often and for the price, we expected a higher quality of food. Oh well. read more

I was impressed with how well they make you feel while dinning . The wait staff paid attention to detail and the manager was on point. I ordered shrimp parm with lugiuinie ; the dish was very good. What impressed me was that I had to leave the table for a short period of time. When I came back our meals where served. The manager had taken notice that my dish might had gotten cold. He not only asked me to try the dish to see if it was still hot but offered to remake the dish for me.....WoW Thank You ....... read more

I've been to MANY 5 star restaurants. This was ok but a give it a 3 star because of expense of a late lunch, snack. Dining outside is great but I wish the construction zone was finished. Waiter was great and very professional. read more

Grappa Ristorante was highly recommended by a colleague, and it did not disappoint! The sangria was amazing and boozy. We had the meatball appetizer and the burrada, both were delicious. My husband had the chicken special, and I had the snapper special....we did. Or leave a single morsal of food on the plate. The service was excellent, everyone is very attentive and friendly. We cannot wait to return! read more

The food, service, atmosphere, and food make Grappa RIstorante in Warwick, New York one of the best places for either a romantic dinner date or a night out with the family. The salads including the Grappa Salad are all fresh and flavorful, while the traditional entrees including beef, fish, pasta, and more provide options for just about anyone. read more

This is one of my favorite local restaurants, and my husband and I eat out several times per week and have become somewhat experts in the area! They are well-staffed and the service is, as others have said, professional and attentive. Food is served with a nice portion of chunky parmesan, delicious bread, and shaved eggplant in oil to top the bread. Nice menu with a variety of dishes, all beautifully prepared. The sauces are delicious! Portions are not large. My pet peeve with this, as with many "fine" restaurants, is the absence of a small side salad served with an entree. My feeling is that it does not break the bank of the restaurant, and makes the dining experience linger for the patrons. Yes, there are salads on the menu, but I do not think that a side salad served before an entree necessarily precludes those who want a nice salad dish from ordering one; I think it may even encourage patrons to another glass of wine or so..... One of my complaints is the price of per glass wines - $10 and up is excessive, regardless of where one is dining... yes, it's nice al fresco dining in good weather, but it is, after all, on the street next to a line of parked cars and not overlooking an ocean, for Heaven's sake. And the indoor accommodations don't warrant seaside or NYC wine prices. The food prices are not too bad; before you order a special, though, be sure to ask what its price is so that you are not in for a shock. And what about some nice soft music to accompany the occasional barking dog and loud chit chat on the patio? But other than that, I think Grappa appreciates its clients and sometimes brings an aperitif on the house. I recommend going there for a special or even just casual night out for dinner. Lunches are nice too - great place to sit with a friend and have a long lunch read more

We'd been to Grappa at least a dozen times and never had a bad experience. Last night we had dinner at Grappa and in a nutshell, while the meal was delicious as always, the service was dismal. Our waiter (who can't be mistaken for anyone else as he must have been at least 6'3", thin with black hair), seemed to go out of his way to ignore our table. He was busy making repeat visits to other tables while paying us no mind. My husband had to flag down a different server in order to get a second glass of wine, our dinner plates remained uncollected long after we were done with the meal. A different server picked up the plates and offered desserts. She had no idea what was even available as my husband chose dessert #1 only to be told five minutes later they had no more of that so he chose dessert #2 only to be told about five minutes later they were out of that one too. At that point I told them I didn't want my dessert and we just wanted the check. The waiter nonchalantly came over and half-heartedly apologized for the desserts as if it were a big joke and then it came time to decide on a tip. I decided to reward poor service with a poor tip figuring he'd get the message. He sure did because he returned to the table, gave me the tip money back with the snide comment "you must need this more than I". Yeah, he flipped the script from "poor service merits a poor tip" to "these customers must be so cash-strapped that they can't afford to tip me". I am not sure I am ever going to return to Grappa. read more

Fabulous restaurant in Warwick. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. The fried calamari is cooked perfectly and delicious. Generous portion also. We had the pasta with clam sauce and the pasta with mussels. Both were delicious and again, the portions are perfect. Don't forget the bread which is served with a spicy olive oil. Love this place and will definitely be back. read more

Our group of five was staying at Crystal Springs but 2 of the 3 best restaurants on site were closed so we found Grappa. What a find! We shared 5 apps plus a short rib ravioli- outstanding! Octopus cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully. The calamari- excellent but it's the small plates of cheese - parmaggiano- and a shaved zucchini with extra virgin olive oil and I would love to know what else cause it was special, really simple, good crusty bread - add a bottle of Simi Landslide - didn't really need more. But... we did. Three seafood dishes, a veal chop, and a chicken milanese- nobody left disappointed and you won't be either. Our server was attentive and by the end of the night, when everyone else had left, engaged in a little World Cup talk. Great night! read more

Aside from a extremely rude hostess on our 3rd visit (11/24/18), this restaurant has excellent food and service. It's sad that an obnoxious and rude hostess can ruin a major part of the dining experience at a restaurant like this. I can only hope that management monitors this site so they can do something about this issue. I'll come back once the issue has been resolved. Good luck on your dining experience at this restaurant. read more

Grappa has had an excellent reputation but not tonight. Service was great as we sat outside and that's a plus. Our dinners were bland and boring. My eggplant rollatini was a 3 out of 10. My partners meal was small and tasteless. Pasta??? Very disappointed. Oh well. Onward. read more

Tony, the owner is the most gracious host. His wife Lauren mixes the most tasteful martinis. Their pork shoulder osso bucco is straight from the kitchens in Italy. So is the Bronzino Bass! The homemade tiramisu & ricotta cheese cake are a must. Recommend Highly! read more

End of dinner aside, we found that our scallop dishes for the evening were both overly cooked and poorly set for the table. The ambiance and appetizers well over took the main course. First I have found Grappa in a miss anything. Love this place and can't wait to come back. read more

One of my favorites are back after a fire they revamped the place. Upon arrival they bring you this delicious zucchini with olive oil with a sharp provolone. Enjoyed the scallop special. Wine list is classy. Enjoy! read more
