On 3/27/26, I was driving back from Northern California when my Tesla ran out of charge near Lebec, close to a rest area. I called AAA, and they quickly dispatched AAA Tech Towing. That's when I met Adam Amato--truly a gem of a person. Adam knew exactly what to do. He handled the situation calmly and professionally, got me safely to a Tesla Supercharger, and didn't leave until he made sure my car was charging properly. That level of care and responsibility is rare these days. Believe it or not, on 4/11/26, while heading back to Northern California again, I got stuck a second time due to incorrect mileage calibration. Once again, AAA and AAA Tech came through flawlessly. This experience reinforced something very important for me: having the right support system matters. We thought we were well-covered with USAA Roadside Assistance, but after multiple delays from their contracted vendor (Agero) and over 2 hours of waiting, we took the matter into our own hands and reached out to Doug at AA Tech. He was there within minutes, got our spare tire on and proceeded with finding and installing a new full-sized tire. He was both professional and personable. We were on our way home within an hour. They love to help all us motorists who start to go up the grade and something goes wrong with your car, which is exactly what happened to us. Our car started shaking and we pulled to the side and called AAA. We got towed to Top of the Vine and were greeted so warmly by Donna. It was close to their closing time on Saturday but they took a Quick Look and ordered parts to start work on it Monday. So Unfortunately we weren't able to get back on the road but my family came and picked us up. Donna even gave us a ride down the street with our luggage to the flying J to sit and wait in their inside waiting area. Donna kept saying how much she values helping people and trying to get people back on the road quickly especially around the holidays. And she was sorry she couldn't get us going that night, we kept saying it was ok we just appreciated her help and kindness. The dispatcher said AAA does not cover commercial vehicles. I explained it is not a commercial vehicle. It is my personal daily driver. They then said the van had to be emptied to be towed. I was in Santa Clarita needed to get it to my car alarm installer as I thought the issue was with my aftermarket car alarm not my battery. They charged me $350 to go 25 miles. We called AAA and they said this is not the case. I have filed a complaint with AAA. Screw you, Castaic towing for the predatory practices. Obviously zero stars of available.
