I gotta say, as a trucker, being broken down on top of the grapevine is the last place you want to be; Thank goodness for Jim's towing. We had two radiator hose clamps (under the drive shaft) break at the same time. We were in a very sketchy place and wanted to be towed back to their shop. They use a GPS app to ping where you are, which is kinda cool. We were out there same day for a very reasonable price (especially for the middle of nowhere mountain town.) Everyone in the shop was very friendly including the 3rd generation owner, Tyler. Expert towing, knowledgeable mechanics and friendly conversation. They made our bad day better and got us rolling down the road. read more

Called and asked for fuel. They stated they will be there within 30-40 min. 55 mins later I call and she says he went on another call and will come after he's done. Keep in mind I was 6-7 mins away and just need fuel which takes no more than 10 mins for the process. 2 hours later I get a call asking if he can come now. Horrible service. I had a positive experience with Jim Towing. Our driver Tex, was prompt and courteous. The truck was clean and comfortable. My car insurance took care of the setup with the company and was able to guarantee my out of pocket price. moral of the story: never ever ever ever ever rely on this company and choose them for any type of servicem YOU'VE BEEN WARNED **** believe all the negative reviews listed. they are the truth. I drive back and forth on the i5 from Bakersfield to Los Angeles multiple times a week. I always wondered how frustrating it would be to break down over the grapevine with little cell reception and easily a 45 minute walk to the nearest exist sometimes. well I had a first hand experience yesterday. geico Ddispatched Jim's towing to pick me up because I had a flat tire. I had very terrible cellphone coverage and I had to walk from my car 20 minutes to get reception. I had an estimate of 1hour wait for pick up. I waited an hour. no one arrived. I call Jim's towing they said they couldn't find me and canceled dispatch. so I call geico again and reschedule. I send a picture of my location from gps as well as audi coordinates from my nqvigation. my wife calls to confirm they received and to call her if I don't have reception.. not only did they not show up again. they did not call either me or my, wife and lied to geico stating I wasn't in my car and wasn't at the location.. needless to say I called aaa and I was back on the road within 45 minutes.. mark my word, if you choose this service u will be left stranded for atleast 4 hours. believe all the negative reviews listed. they are the truth read more

I got stranded on the Grapevine with a blown transmission. Jim's was the second leg of the tow the following afternoon. Driver got there ahead of me, had the front end all rigged and lifted, knew right where to take it for repairs. THEN, he waited for me to unload ALL the stuff that had to come out. We broke down on HWY 5 and after we called another company for service and they didn't show up, we called Jim's. The driver was Lenny and he was the nicest, most professional, incredibly knowledgeable person we have met in a very long time. He didn't just tow us, he told us what was wrong with our truck and even took us to a shop that he knew did good business. Lenny was courteous and never rushed anything. He would of even offered the shop to use one of his tools. Lenny really made our trip. If it wasn't for him, we would have had to turn around and go back home but instead, everything was fixed super quick and we got to Disneyland right on time. THANK YOU LENNY!!! read more

The whole thing started off pretty good, That is until the driver arrived. First of all when he got there he didn't know how to lower the tire on my Tahoe. After trying and googling and YouTubeing it he was still unable to lower my tire. He then decided that he cannot help me and that he was going to go ahead and leave us there. I'm on top of the grapevine with a flat tire at 6pm and he's going to leave because he can't help me. So as he's driving off we decide will try and lower the tire ourselves, one try is all it took. Three girls and we were able to do it and the man that is getting paid was unable to. After we waive him down to come back so he can change the tire for us they still charged us full price for a job that he Halfway completed. After the tire was changed we had to Put everything back together wind the tire holder back up because he still couldn't figure it out. I'm not saying that the company is bad but the tow truck driver that you sent to us has no knowledge whatsoever how to do his job. read more
