The gem of the neighborhood, the finest and most sophisticated wine and liquor selection, and the best guidance at any wine store I have ever shopped. I have lived in five states in the last ten years, each with some very good wine stores, but none has come close to Grapeshot. Let me explain why: 1. Knowledge: Diego and Alex have deep knowledgable about the industry and history of wine, but are never snobby about it. Listen and learn from them. 2. Taste: this is the X factor at Grapeshot. Diego stocks what he likes, and he doesn't sell sweet or cloying wines. This means that you can try hundreds of labels across a wide spectrum, or pick a bottle to bring to a friend's house, with confidence. 3. Value: there are dozens of delicious bottles under $20. I shop here often, and I still haven't tried them all. 4. Points: earn points, shop more! 5. Down to earth: Diego and Alex know so much, but are so patient with our American questions! So grateful to have them in the neighborhood. read more

This is one unique place and groundbreaking establishment!! The owner( Diego) and his wife are terrific people!! The knowledge and the value of wines are beyond expectations. The family dog can't get enough of these wonderful people that run this place! Diego truly is the mayor of this industrial cool section of Brooklyn. The tastings (on Friday) are truly a BKLYN must stop!!! We had one bad batch of spirits from a local whiskey distiller and the owner was so caring about his customers and business you would of thought he owned the distillery himself..!! That's just how it goes at Grapeshot. I know many who would give it TEN stars if they could. LOVE it! Oh yeah, the prices are beautifully displayed in an "eco fashion" manner on recycled cork labels-- RIGHT in front of you. Someone in one review said this is not displayed.. well, go look for yourself. This way no paper is used to clutter. Finally, it worth a trip to see this how amazing this establishment is designed. WOW -- Steiner Studios and everyone is very lucky to have this super cool place in BKLYN. Go Grapeshot! read more

Grapeshot is worth a visit, period. The moment you step in you're going to feel genuinely welcomed, not overwhelmed... simple, thoughtful and coherent in both design (this place is beautiful) and the wine/spirit choices. The pricing is unquestionably reasonable across the range of offerings and there's something for everyone. For anyone out there that has ever felt like they were being sized-up or judged by snobby proprietors while shopping for wine elsewhere - forget that ever happened and make Grapeshot your new destination! I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed going into a wine store before, but Grapeshot might be changing that. The owner, Diego, is friendly without being annoying, knowledgable and helpful without being pushy or snooty, and the vibe is classy without being ostentatious or intimidating. By far, the best wine store anywhere. First off it's a beautiful little shop decorated with old cabinets and tables with a rustic feel. A bit like stepping back in time. Most importantly, the selection is impeccable and vast. These guys know what to drink. I can go in looking for something but not even know how to describe it and eventually Diego helps me choose the right wine for a meal or party. He's also ordered things to keep in the shop that I've recommended. You can get absolutely any bottle of wine or booze you want or need here. I haven't been to the tastings yet but I'm sure the friendly and knowledgeable spirit is on full display. I really like supporting this store, even as newer options come to the neighborhood, because they were the lonely little option for so long, serving this little corner of the neighborhood when it was quieter and riskier. This is my go to liquor store. No matter where I am in the city. Luckily I work close by. Diego has never steered me wrong with a recommendation. Whether it be whites, reds, bourbon, he's tasted it all and he knows it all. This is one of my favorite wine stores in the city and has to be one of the best -- feel very lucky this is in the neighborhood. They have a fantastic selection of both wine and liquor, are knowledgeable and are also friendly. They have the expertise without the stuffiness I've experienced at other high-quality wine stores. The best liquor and wine store I've ever been to. Luckily I work very close by, but I would gladly come from much farther if I didn't. Diego does carry the usual corporate brands, but the reason to come here is the much higher quality ones, as well as local offerings. The recommendations are always on point, and every time I'm steered towards a lesser known brand for for the same price or lower, with much better taste and quality when I try it. They also have tastings on Friday of various high quality wines and liquors, things I wouldn't have thought to have picked up without trying due to not having advertising plastered everywhere. I've really learned to expand my wine & spirit horizons towards smaller, artisan offerings by coming here. It's outstanding. read more

Grape shot is a fantastic addition to any neighborhood and I'm thrilled its in mine. Diego runs a fantastic wine shop with a really good selection. Value wines and good wines abound from the usual regions plus he has a good selection of lesser known regions making for a really fun time shopping and exploring. He also has a great selection of local liquors from Brooklyn's vibrant distilling scene. Not to be forgotten is the weekly wine tastings. Every Friday he's got something going on, always fun to stop in say hi and see what he's excited about. Lastly, he designed and built the interior himself. Oh, free delivery too. read more

Rad, rad, rad. Diego has an amazing selection. I have never seen such an insanely vas space filled up in in such an appropriate manner. If this was in Manhattan you would be paying insane amounts of prices for these wines.
