The service was rude, I was almost yelled that I didn't have any cash, and had to pay with card. When I asked if I get any bread and garlic, I was told I have to order them, while other tables were getting them for free. The sandwich was not bad, but because of unpleasant atmosphere at the place, I won't be back. read more

Grape Leaves Restaurant - Falafel sandwich - Middle Eastern Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

Came here for lunch today and seen 11$ sandwich combo. I said why not. I gave them a try and glad I did. The sandwich was very filling and very tasty. The meat had a great seasoning on it and the garlic sauce was satisfying. The service was fast and quick. Will be coming back for more food. read more

Grape Leaves - Like Walking into My Sitto's Kitchen Let me just say this -- I'm half Lebanese, and I grew up spoiled by the real deal. Homemade kibbeh, hand-rolled grape leaves, perfectly spiced hashwi... the kind of meals that ruin you for average Mediterranean food forever. So when I say Grape Leaves in Detroit blew me away, I mean it. The kibbeh was spot-on -- crispy shell, perfectly seasoned meat, and that warm, familiar flavor that hits you right in the memory. The lamb grape leaves? I took one bite and almost called my mom. They were that good. Not quite Sitto-level (because no one touches her grape leaves), but dangerously close. Then came the hashwi. Good grief. Rice, lamb, spices -- simple ingredients, but when done right, it's magic. And this was flat-out amazing. Comfort food doesn't even begin to cover it. The place itself is nothing fancy, but who cares? You don't come here for the decor. You come to eat like a Lebanese grandma just sat you down and said, "Yalla, eat!" 5 stars. Hands down the best Lebanese food I've had outside of a family kitchen. read more

Beautiful place , very clean , staff friendly . The best sautee diner , shrimp cilantro outstanding

It is truly unbelievable how you can get carry out orders wrong every single time to now the point I will order from someone else. How hard is it to read a ticket?! All I asked for was an extra tahini sauce on the side. So why wasn't it in the bag again?! Guess they just didn't feel like it or complete incompetence. I'm done with this restaurant because they obviously just don't care about fulfilling the order as written. Ordered thru uber eats. read more

I just love this place. The guys are all working hard and give the best service. The food is made fast and is phenomenal. Those fresh made table bread was just perfect. We got a quick lunch, with garlic sauce (the best), chicken rice soup, and chicken shawarma sandwich. It took me a minute because this is a favorite lunch spot for local businesses, and I've had many of their entrees. The shawarma was so tasty. Seeing that they are open and their food is still exceptional even though they are understaffed and working hard, I will be returning more often. read more

Grape Leaves Restaurant - Chicken rice soup of the day - Middle Eastern Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

I'm a big fan of their dolma, both meat and vegetarian. Ordered a hundred for my wedding years ago and they were amazing

Was at my cousin's graduation recently, we had it catered by Grape Leaves. Chafing dishes were on the ready for delivery. Had beef and chicken shawarma, almond rice, fatoosh, tabouli, meat and rice grape leaves and hummus. Lots of extra garlic, yogurt and tahini to accompany the meats. Wish the pita wasn't all over the fatoosh, had to pick out the salad. The tabouli was decent as was the hummus. The chicken was extremely dry and fatty and had some tendons on pieces of it. Mostly ate the tabouli and the tomatoes from the fatoosh. The hummus wasn't special, just okay. My cousins are 1/4 Lebanese and they weren't impressed by the food either. read more

This place is pretty good! I've been going for years and never really had a bad meal! They make their own bread is a very interesting oven! The hummus has a great flavor and the chicken lamb and beef dishes are all very tasty! I will be back ! read more

Very delicious food and love the customer service. They make my food fresh and my bread is always so good.

This place has the best crushed lentil soup. It's so good that I've been coming back here every week for the last four weeks since my first visit. I was introduced to this restaurant through a coworker who said this her favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. The food is very good. In my several visits so far I've tried the shish tawook sandwich, tabbouli and chicken tawook sandwich, fatoush salad with chicken breast, and of course their crushed lentil soup. I would recommend getting the crisply pita to go with the soup, instead of regular bread. Their tabbouli is excellent, full of flavor as is their shish tawook sandwich. They are generous with the garlic paste in the sandwich which I like. Service is very quick which is great for work lunch. I've done carryout as well and they are accurate when filling the order and include all the silverware, napkins, etc which is great not to have to worry about or having to check the order before you leave. read more

Grape Leaves Restaurant - Middle Eastern Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

We recently made a large order for a family Sunday dinner. Grape Leaves could not have been more accommodating! We absolutely loved the family tray. Anything can be customized (we added extra hummus instead of baba ganoush). The staff was so incredibly friendly, and insistent on helping me bring everything to my car. We will definitely be ordering again! The most delicious hummus, shawarma - both chicken and lamb - amazing crushed lentil soup, and tabouli and garlic sauce. Highly recommend!! read more

the food was amazing I ordered the lemon garlic chicken and it was the best food I've ever had

Very disappointed in this meal. Service was ok. With a $40 price tag I was hoping for something spectacular but it wasn't. I was never ask how I wanted my lamb cooked. Why is there lettuce in the grilled veggies? I've had better for less so they need to step their cooking and seasoning game up. Solid 2 read more

Rude is the word. They got upset because I asked for bread? The food was ok but I don't go where I'm not wanted. Nor I spend my money where I'm treated without respect. read more

Friendly customer service is a No. I've been in this restaurant twice and I never feel welcome. Food is just okay.

I hadn't been back to this place since pre-pandemic because I wasn't going to the office, but wow is it delicious! I tried something new --the lentil kibbeh entree. Everything was fresh and delicious. Also I had ordered from the wrong location and they still made it for us quickly and fixed our mistake-- so great service too. And I just like the seating and design. It's comfortable and charming. Thank you for giving me quality lunch options in Southfield!! I will be coming back more. read more

The food here is always good and fresh. They are always very prompt with orders and helpful. I like the crushed lentil soup, and their baba ganoush is great. I'm not a meat eater, so I can't comment on those dishes. read more

I have never eaten-in...always carry out. Love their fresh squeezed juices and the grape leaves are superb. I have ordered the falafel plate appetizer which I think is better than ordering the falafel sandwich. The fattoush salad was Ok...the pita chips were sparse and not crunchy enough. In addition, some of the lettuce in the salad and used as garnish were wilted...which is a big turn off aesthetically and definitely would not want to chomp on anything wilted. Besides the minor hiccups, taste is good for a quick and local bite of Middle Eastern cuisine. read more

Went in her sat for almost 20.minutes. No one came and took my order and i left. Advice, get the appropriate staff for lunch time.

Excellent customer service and high quality ingredients. Love the Greek salad and tabouli.

I'm probably one of their first customers and always went there from the first day it opened. Then I stopped because of the service wasn't anything to rave about. Even though the food was always good and authentic I couldn't deal with all the non responsive male waiters. Recently I went back and I'm so glad I did. It's still one of the best and most authentic Lebanese restaurants in Michigan. The food is always fresh and spiced the way it should be. Lebanese food in Michigan varies from restaurant to restaurant because every person from the Middle East thinks they can make Lebanese food. Don't be fooled if want the real stuff... Grape Leaves is right on point every time. Truly authentic and truly Lebanese. read more

I don't know if it was the fact that I hadn't had any middle eastern food in awhile or the fact that this place was just that good!! I ordered the Fattoush Feta for starters. It was fresh, crunchy, and had ample feta cheese. Normally, when I order anything with feta, from anywhere, I am constantly asking for more! Not the case here at Grape Leaves. I had more than enough! Next, I ordered the classic chicken shawarma sandwich. It did not disappoint and it was loaded with chicken and a fantastic garlic flavor. I had plenty left over to snack on the next day. I had the fresh squeezed lemonade as my beverage, and it was slushy, sweet, sour and a real treat! I enjoyed my visit to Grape Leaves and if you've got a taste for fresh food with a little flare, then this is the place for you! read more

Recently, I was solicited for restaurant suggestions for a team lunch near my workplace. I volunteered this place based on some of the positive reviews below with the caveat that I had not been there. When it was chosen, I held my breath and hoped for the best. Thankfully, it turned out OK. My work cohort and I enjoyed a variety of traditional Lebanese cuisine emblematic of Detroit. The savory crushed lentil soup was just to the spicy side of the golden mean of Cedar Garden. Falafel patties were crispy, flavorful and not greasy. Salads were appropriately dark green and not overly dressed. Hummus was smooth and straight down the middle in spice. The service was attentive - at first. As the place got busier, we got forgotten to a degree. The size of the staff seemed a bit small for the lunch crowd so get there early if you go. All in all, it's decent and, in the immediate area, probably the best sit-down Lebanese food. read more

Delicious fresh food. Fast and friendly service. My Order is always made right. I love supporting these guys

The crushed lentil soup here is on point. Creamy and delicious like I used to get from the Greenfield location. The Caesar salad is good as well. A large can feed 2 people. The service on the other hand was mediocre when I dined in. It was 6pm and the place was pretty much empty yet service was slow. I will try this location again to see if the food is consistent and provide an update. read more

Crazy Loud at Lunch Time! Between the crowd and the juicer machine, this place was annoyingly loud for a lunch spot. They brought some bread to go with my bowl of their crushed lentil soup, both of which were really good. My girl had the Greek salad which looked fantastic with beautiful bright produce. Service was a little disjointed at peak hours but I'd like to try their chicken shawarma sometime. read more

I came here for lunch. The food was good and they have a large sandwich selection. I was disappointed that they didn't offer sandwich lunch combis, although most Mediterranean places do. They where very busy during lunch, and it showed in our poor service. One person in our group of 10 recived his lunch 30 minutes after ordering. Although thr bread is fresh made and was excellent, it did not come with garic spread. Which I was shocked by. I did end up orderinh some garlic spread, and the waiter brought out 3 dishes to the table and to my suprise when we got our bill he charged me a $1.50 for each!! Don't ask for separate checks, the waiter can't handle that. read more

Grape Leaves Restaurant - The fresh bread that took 10 minutes to get, came with no garlic spread. - Middle Eastern Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

Easy choice for a lunch spot during the work week, I was told to seat myself, at first I was worried about being forgotten but the staff was very attentive! I ordered the lunch special of shish tawook ( aka chicken kabob no longer on the kabob and rice ) along side the option of soup or salad - I went with the salad, great size ! I was brought a basket of three pieces of the toasty warm yummy pita bread ! Everything went swell, I wasn't rushed in or out. Next time I'd like to try the raw fresh juice ! Nothing too special, it was good quality, good service and good price, i'll totally be back! read more

If you enjoy Mediterranean food, punch this into your GPS now. This place is great. Juices are fresh. I had the lamb and jalapeño skillet (servers recommendation, who was very nice by the way). Yum, not too spicy and very flavorful. Rice was well done and not a pile of mush like some places. The fresh pita is topped with sesame seeds. Delicious! Like I said, just eat here. Grape Leaves Restaurant - Very lean and no "gamey lamb" taste. - Middle Eastern Near Me - Southfield, Michigan

Really good chicken cilantro! Love the chicken jalapeno as well. Definitely recommend

Quick service, great veggie grape leaves and Shish Tawook wrap. Only negative was slightly over-cooked bread.

Golly gee golly me, I ate about 15 cats worth of bread (or 3 dogs for commonfolk) at the start of my meal. The garlic sauce that comes with the bread comes with the bread and is so special and uniqeue that even my grandmother (may she RIP in peace and perserverance, she was a strong and loving woman but only to my family) probably could not replicate the recipe. Although she was not Mediteranean so she would have a disadvantage from the start. Moving on, I also had a salad with lots of lettuce instead of just croutons like my dad always gave me growing up because he said he would make me stronger BUT HE LIED TO ME CROUTONS ONLY HAVE 1/2 THE POWER LETTUCE HAS. And then to put the cherry on top of the icecream sundae, my chicken and rice were cooked just right, not poisonous but also not overcooked. The plentiful spices and herbery reminded me of thanksgiving with my Uncle (may he RIP in peace, he was a weak man but was still my Uncle afterall!). read more
