Everything tasted fresh and came together really well -- especially after a long day. They're always generous with the pita bread . I can't have it anymore, but my grandma loves it, so it still gets appreciated over here . This is one of those spots we've been eating from for years -- my dad used to bring it home when we were younger -- and it's stayed consistent the whole time. I come here regularly for lunch and always have the best experience! I usually get the chicken tawook sandwich and add tabbouleh to it. The chicken is nice and juicy and the tabbouleh adds another extra layer of flavor. I love their fattoosh, lentjl soup, and hummus as well. The owner and staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We got this catered to our office at the suggestion of a local. The hummus and pita bread were great. The rice was extremely tasty and the chicken spiced and grilled perfectly. We also got a salad which came with tasty homemade dressing. The star of the show was the garlic sauce. I put it on EVERYTHING (except the salad) it was so good! I placed a carry out order for my family on a Sunday for lunch. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Food was made in a timely manner and our order was correct. My husband is in love with their chicken schwarma sandwiches! He could eat it every day if we could afford to. Ha! I did ask how to check my gift card balance online and the employee was unsure (since he could easily swipe it to find out) but offered to get a manager. I declined but it would probably be helpful if staff knew this for other guests that have the same issue. So happy LaMarsa is back to where they were when we first started coming, and ordering family platters, ten years ago. We were disappointed as it wasn't as good, but happy to say, last 4-5 times the chicken dishes were not dry, roasted veggies were nice and charred, bread, hummus and baba ghanoush were all super good! We loved this place for dinner! We went to 2 other places for dinner and one was closed (covid hours) other was being renovated (not noted online). So this place was closing in 30 mins and we called and they said come over. I got the eggplant dish. Baba Ganoush and it was amazing. The bread was fresh and think it was made in-house. We had Foul which is a fave bean stew and it was amazing. My husband had lamb /veg dishes. Also had a side of rice and 2 soups. one was lentil and I had chicken veg soup. I ordered carry out for my family and didn't realize they forgot to give me a big part of my order, and when I called them back to ask them about it, they were surprisingly argumentative with me, saying that they handed it to me which obviously they didn't, because I didn't come home with me.lol. Anyway, the manager on duty continued to be argumentative and unapologetic and the wait staff on top of it all wasn't very helpful. My husband and I went here for the first time today and really enjoyed it. The hummus was delicious! You could really tasty the salty, olive oil, and garlic flavors. It even comes with a side of garlic spread to add as extra and my husband really enjoyed combining to two. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, she was on the ball with refilling our pita bread. She took our basket which had one pita roll left in it and started filling it with other pita rolls. She then noticed fresh ones were ready to come out of the bread oven and I watched her take out the old ones and refill it with all fresh ones, we really appreciated that! I had a small Greek salad which was plenty of salad it was pretty big! My husband got a eggplant dish with grilled veggies and he loved it! We will definitely be back. La Marsa is tucked away in a small plaza on the opposite end of Staples. This is my first experience here and I had ordered through the Yelp Grub Hub. Highly recommend trying that if you haven't already. The service provided the status of the order. Pretty much pickup and go with the exception of this place. Who would have thought of receiving such great service with take-out! I certainly didn't. While waiting in my vehicle for the takeout message to read it was ready for pickup, I received a call from the restaurant. It was too early for it to be picked up yet. I immediately walked in to see if there was a discrepancy with the order. At the register a man by the name of Hani (Han-ee) greeted me with a warm smile. He announced that they unfortunately didn't have rice pudding today and offered a delicious alternative - cream caramel. It reminded me of a Filipino dish - flan. The twist was it had a light flavor with a sticky syrup and brought my taste buds to a stop. It was as delectable as Hani had promised. Then he asked kindly if I lived in the area because I didn't look familiar. He offered a table to wait at while he retrieved the order. He left by saying he hopes to see me again. The chicken Shawarma, Fattoush salad and pita bread were just as tasty as the dessert. I had ordered chicken with the salad and it was set in a separate box. Perfect for me because I never liked it when the meat is placed on top of the salad. By the time you get it to your destination the lettuce loses its crispness due to the the condensation. read more

Another case where I'd like to be able to award half stars. I had a Groupon that I needed to use, so I decided to get an order to go on a Friday afternoon. I was told that it would take 20 minutes, which it did. I thought that was kind of a long time, considering that there was only 1 table of 7 people in the restaurant at the time. I ordered the lamb combination, which comes with soup or salad, rice, fries or grilled vegetables in addition to 3 grape leaves, 2 meat pies, 2 fried kibbee, and shish kafta. I'm not sure where the lamb comes in to play, but no matter, as I'm not a big fan of lamb. (I ordered this for the variety.) There were also some grilled vegetables, a half dozen house made pitas and garlic sauce. Definitely a lot of food for a reasonable price. When I got home, I saw that the salad had a lot of brown leaves in it. I wonder if the salads served to the people who ate at the restaurant were also brown, or if that was what they used for the carryout order. The salad itself was large and had a good variety of vegetables. The bread, while it looked and smelled wonderful, was virtually tasteless. It really needed the garlic sauce (which was ok, but not the best I've had) to give it some flavor. The meat in the meat pies was ok, but again, the dough was tasteless. I needed to add salt to the rice, which also lacked flavor. The grape leaves were a bit spicy for me; I've never had spicy grape leaves. But the kibee was very good, as was the shish kafta. I don't know that I'd choose to go back as there are a lot of middle eastern restaurants that I like much better, but I wouldn't object if someone I was with wanted to go there. read more
