If you'd like to build a case to sue somebody till their hair fell out of their heads come here. There's so many violations(roach infestation, broken toilets, misrepresentation of property, unmanaged bodily fluids, fire hazards, littering at corporate scale) and if you do address them they respond with their own pompous brand of callous demeaning apathy that'll make you slip into anger and think something out of character.... I initially just kept my place as clean as possible until I noticed roaches coming in from the doorway in the middle of the night, I still kept quiet cuz my lease was almost up. That's when they started trying to murder a young cat and her kittens by method of a faulty wire fence, that was the last straw for me. Since then I've failed to receive a refund and they've resorted to retaliation.

I work in customer service answering calls daily so I know the expectations. For a customer service rep to argue back and allow the situation to escalate the way it did is crazyyy. I've also read other reviews and she was mentioned before for the same thing within a year so it seems like this isn't just a bad day, it's who she is. BUT, I gave 2 stars instead of 1 or zero if I could because once I was able to get the info for her higher up, Brian, I emailed him immediately explaining what happened. He had given me a call within the hour (which I highly appreciate) and apologized about how my call was handled by her, and calmly given me the info and clarification I was looking for when I originally called. It was quick, simple, and respectful. I wasn't sure if anyone was going to respond to my email at all and I wasn't expecting it to be that quick either so I really appreciate the urgency to make the situation right.

They told me that they had accidentally submitted someone else's application for the unit, and that our move-in date was cancelled. I told them that I had already told my current landlord that we were moving out, and told my daughter's school that we were switching to a different school. The receptionist literally said, "well that's on you, because you shouldn't have assumed that we would submit the correct application." To this day, that is still the dumbest statement I've ever heard come out of someone's mouth. Not having to deal with these guys turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I've heard other horror stories about Tom Shinsato Realty, so proceed with caution.

He comes back and says that because we don't have an account and the bank "doesn't have enough cash" he is unable to break my $20. Now, I've worked as a teller as a first time job out of high school & I know that's a bunch of bull. Thank goodness there was a kind enough customer waiting along with us and offered to break my $20. The thought of even opening an account with this institute after this experience would be a joke! Just because it's a sketchy area, doesn't mean EVERYONE is sketchy that walks into your branch.
