I didn't find Hideki, my wife did. I tried the usual Yelp searches and called a few. I filled out request forms and then never got a call back. One of them insisted that all I needed was a tool. Despite knowing the tool wouldn't work, I bought it anyway and of course the tool didn't work. In the meantime, my wife was talking to Hideki. He was a good communicator and he agreed to come by. I told him the job would be tough but he did it and he did GREAT. Now that I let you guys know about him, I hope he doesn't get so busy that he will be unavailable. But I have found the great handyman that we always knew existed but was so hard to find.

The first job, he called me within the hour of when he would be coming between the timeframe he estimated, and the second job, he came exactly on time of when he said he would. Whatever got loose jammed the latch assembly such that no matter which direction I turned the knob I could not get the latch assembly to retract. Consequently, the door was locked in the closed direction with no way to get into the bathroom. I called One Stop Rooftop and spoke to Paul explaining the problem I had. He sent Marty and Kai and in 5 minutes he had the door open by loosening the trim enough to slide a flat bar and un-engage the latch assembly. Marty knew what he was doing and had everything restored back to normal and caulked all the gaps. What a wonderful, quick, and straight to the cause of the problem. When the original door was removed, it was clear to see that the opening had been modified. The original door was not the correct size for the opening. We had already bought a door from the original door measurements. Knowing that we would not be able to do it ourselves, I contacted Kama'aina Handyman. They did an excellent job and built a new frame for the doorway. They also replaced some cinder blocks that had broken with wood framing to make sure the door was straight and plumb.
