So I've been here a few times and just go for a pizza by the slice. It's pretty good. The pieces that they give you are really big and they come with a lot of toppings. The area may not look like all that, but from the number of times I have been, its fine... its safe. Typically you'll order and they'll bring the food to you if you decide to eat there. So keep that in mind. There's plenty of room and space to sit down and honestly I've never seen it packed. But I've only gone on certain times of the day so maybe that's why. But it's still a good and quick fix. Although there is a pizza spot right next door so that makes it kind of weird LOL. Either way it goes, if you just want a quick slice or two. This is not a bad option if you are in East Atlanta around that area. If you are expecting the most amazing pizza in the world, it probably won't be that lol, BUT it's pretty solid... and definitely worth a slice or two and I would definitely go back. read more

I went to grant central pizza on Sunday. I ordered a large vegetarian pizza with spinach and pineapple.The customer service was A+, and the pizza is by far the best I've had in Atlanta. The restaurant was clean and so was the restroom. My only complaint is the restaurant only has 3 parking spots in the lot behind the restaurant for customers; but street parking is allowed and in abundance on the side streets near the restaurant. read more

Ordered a large pie for delivery with two topping and received a pie with one topping that was ordered and one that wasn't ordered-- a topping so far off the mark I had to check twice to make sure what I was seeing was real. When we called them back, they literally replied "What are we supposed to do about it?" Well, for as much as you charge for a large pie, make the right pizza, for starters. I've finally found New York Style pizza in Atlanta that tastes amazing! Zomg. Granted, we were out drinking all night in East Village, BUT! This thin crust, light tasty sauce and heavy cheese with billowy crust edges was EVERYTHING! I felt like I was 19 again and standing outside a 24 hour pizza joint in NYC gobbling down goodness after clubbing all night. Go try it! Great Ny style pizza and my new favorite in town. The place is very laid back with ample seating in East atlanta. Cardiac arrest pizza was the best one amongst the ones we tried. The biggest drawback was we waited upwards of 40 minutes for our two slices on a Friday night. They had only two ppl working in the kitchen and there was not enough staff to bus the tables. I used to be a very faithful Fellini's girl, (yasss cheeeeeseeeee) but I live about a mile from EAV, so I decided to cheat and give a new place a try. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. I've been here a number of times and every time, they hit the spot. I usually like to create my own and mix toppings- but I imagine the menu pizzas are probably hella good too. The crust is thin with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. The outer crust is nice and crispy in the outside, but soft on the inside. Nothing too heavy. The vegetables have always been nice and fresh. They even offer artichokes as a topping!! In addition to pizza, they have pastas, lasagnas and cheesecakes that change every so often. I've tried 3 different cheesecakes and loved them all! You order at the counter and are given a sign with a card, and then someone brings your food to the table. Very simple, no fuss. This place gets BUSY, but even with a packed restaurant, I've never felt the wait was unreasonable. There is street parking in the front, but also parking in the back, as well as a another entrance. They have ample seating, including in front by the window (great for dates and people watching) a full floor of tables and a back deck where you can sit. They also have this section in the back that is FULL of posters for concerts and other happenings around the city. Clutch af! I love this place so so much and it is now one of my FAVORITE pizza spots. I eat here at lease once. Week no. Would definitely recommend! This place has OK pizza. It's better than papa johns but nothing amazing- we go there because it's near the house and the ingredients seem somewhat fresh. . The problem is they often undercook pizza that has more than 3 toppings and the middle is always soggy. Then today we ordered 4 pizza. The people in front of us ordered three They got their pizza 15 minutes before us (to go orders) and we watched other folks come in and order and get theirs before us. Probably they forgot to make one of ours or something and that was the wait . There were some online orders being picked up so of course they could be done before us. I'm talking about folks who I watched order and get food first. They also gave us one wrong pizza. My kids were super disappointed. The whole experience with Grant Central Pizza was terrible. We went to order for eat in at 6:11pm (this is important for later). After ordering we were never quoted a time for our food, this is also important for later. One person at our table got their pizza after about 15 minutes--totally reasonable. The other two at the table, myself included, were left waiting. When I went up ask about the food, the alleged "manager", Kaitlynn J, was extremely rude. She rudely told me she had said it would be 45 minutes when we ordered and it was right at the 45 minute mark. Except, you never quoted us a time when we ordered? And people that came in after us had already been served their food. So I didn't understand the attitude. It was then that I asked for my tip back--just $5.81 and maybe a crappy thing to do but I couldn't take the total lack of customer service. She then begrudgingly gave my money back (for the tip only, just to clarify), and we got our pizza about 10 minutes later--just three of the four slices though. When they finally brought the last slice of pizza, they brought it in a to go box, which is quite passive aggressive if you ask me. All was fine after that, we were eating our mediocre pizza and talking. When Kaitlynn J walked to the back to go outside to smoke a cigarette, however, she made eye contact with me and rolled her eyes. It was very mature of her. So I decided to see if there was someone I could talk to about it, and was informed by yet another rude employee, a man this time, that Kaitlynn was the manager. He then became defensive and said, "you came in at 7 pm on a Friday, your food was going to take a while". Actually, sir, if you want to be technical I came in at 6:11pm, and I'm not here to complain about the amount of time the food took. I'm here to talk about Kaitlynn's attitude. So then I asked if she was the owner, and he told me "I'm not giving you the owner's number". That's fine, sir, I didn't want his number. Just needed to know that Kaitlynn J wasn't the owner. And she's not. That would be Mr. Don Parmer. After that extremely rude conversation I went back to my table and informed my friends we were leaving. We passed Kaitlynn outside finishing her cigarette, and when we went to the car she went inside. She came back to the door after I assumed she went over to our table (without washing your hands after a cigarette, Kaitlynn, that's not very sanitary) and opened the back door, staring at us and patronizingly waving goodbye. Mr. Parmer, you're only as strong as your weakest employee. You had two bad apples on staff tonight. You had an article written about you in 2012 by the Daily Mail and an interview on Fox Atlanta when you put on your menu that parents needed to take their disruptive and crying children outside because customers complained their dining experiences were poor as a result. Inconsistent pizza I've never been to a place that had such distinct differences between who makes their pizza. Some days the dough is extra thin and uber crisp which is great! Another day the dough is just right and stingy on the tomato sauce then feels extra cheesy. Meh! Although I should point out who ever makes the extra thin pizza prob uses the same amount of tomato sauce so it's not noticed to be lacking. As a single gal who doesn't want to end up having to shop for dresses using tent sizes, I don't order up a calzone very often. Don't get me wrong -- I love calzones, and ideally, they should be a comforting, cheesy hug to your stomach, preferably sleeping-bag-sized. I had sampled Grant Central Pizza at a friend's house once or twice and thought it was just okay, but I'd never tried their calzone. After a particularly grueling day at work, I decided to swing by and I ordered up a spinach and mushroom calzone to go from the friendly girl behind the counter. The smell coming from the box on the drive home was maddeningly delicious. Parking myself on the couch, I flicked on the TV and dove in. To put it simply, it was glorious. The crispy exterior was perfectly seasoned and not too thick, enveloping the creamy riccotta and mozzeralla mix inside, flavored with a beautiful amount of garlic and seasoning. They didn't skimp on the mushrooms and spinach, either. While I planned to eat half of it for dinner and take the other half for lunch (it's HUGE), I ate the entire thing, dipping bites into the tasty tomato sauce served on the side. Went here with a group. Wasn't too sure about the location since we were unfamiliar with the area but it was great. We parked in a lot about 1/2 a block across the street from the joint and it was a very short walk. The place is very throwback. Very quirky and cute! Not a lot of updated anything. Go up to the counter, make your order (whole pie, slice, salad, pasta) get a number and they'll bring it to you. I would not say it's a true NY style (crust is not quite right) but it's very good, fresh and plentiful. Two of us ate most of a small pie (half cheese, half pepperoni and split a fresh salad). A couple across from us had pasta and said it was good too. For your leftovers, grab an empty pizza to-go box off the wall shelf yourself, pack it up and go! Overall it was fun, and for locals is probably a great place to go for a slice!! Funny thing, after eating there, we saw it in the new Netflix original series "Raising Dion" as a location.
