We are having to stay longer and they are full for the next flight back and but they offer a solution and gave us our money back. That is real customer service. I didn't actually fly with Grant aviation but did have a luggage snafu with another Alaska Airlines passenger- we got each others luggage and she took Grant Aviation to Kenai. Very good charter service from Anchorage to Kenai and return. Their price was very reasonable. It's about a 4 hour drive in a $200 per day rental. Grant air took 20 minutes from takeoff to landing, they say 35 minutes. My flight was scheduled for 9 AM, but they said they had room on their 8 AM flight so I took that. They fly Cessna 208. And when you get Kenai there is a very nice restaurant where you can get breakfast or lunch. The counter staff was very efficient and courteous. I had to change my departure time and they made the change for me. When I go to Alaska I definitely will use them. read more

Bought a charter with grant aviation and after being on the phone with them all morning they kept telling me my plane was in the air. After being more than 3 and a half hours late without an explanation or apology (in fact they were very rude) I missed all my connecting flights (cost me 400 to change) I had to get a hotel for another 240. This airline is never on time, not professional and run down. I would use any alternative you have to this airline, even walking. read more

When I missed my early morning flight from Anchorage (by one day), the agent put me on standby. Ninety minutes later she walked over to inform me someone canceled, and I was on. If you're flying to or from Anchorage for any reason, be it the occasional vacation type trip or if you're a regular commuter such as a slope worker, this is the airline to fly. Their customer service is phenomenal. To (sorta) quote Samuel L. Jackson in the movie 'Jackie Brown', "Grant Aviation; the very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to get to your destination, accept no substitute." Now, technically there is another option for flights of this type, but that option is...well, let's just say that it's less than reliable, & they aren't familiar with the concept of customer service. All of the employees at Grant Aviation are friendly, considerate, & will do whatever it takes to ensure that their customers arrive at their destination safely, in a timely manner, & eager to become repeat customers. I've been flying with them twice a month for over 12 years & I can't imagine a company that can even come close to providing the quality of service that these folks provide. Since my family lives on the Kenai Peninsula, we are constantly buying tickets for my family to come up to Anchorage or for us to go down there. Prior to Grant Aviation, the only airline we had was Era Aviation. Grant is great, and we will not buy an Era ticket ever again. Era has decided to get rid of their senior discount. Grant offers discounts for seniors and good students and their rates are FABULOUS! It's about time a small airline gave Era a run for their money! read more

This airline is pathetic. We were scheduled for a 1 pm flight on January 12th. They cancelled the flight at 3:45 pm. They rebooked us for a flight at 5 pm on January 13. That was cancelled at 4 pm. We were supposed to fly at 8:15 on January 14. Now, we are on hold, supposedly due to weather. That is a lie. Coworkers made it to our village with Yuute Airlines on January 13. Grant Aviation is too scared to fly and strand their customers on a routine basis. Stay clear of this poorly run airline. read more

They don't price gouge when people are in a bind like their competitors do, they are almost always on time, pilots are skilled and have a personality, and they aren't trying to nail you with a bunch of hidden fees like their competitors. I have never been treated so horribly, with utter disrespect, no regard to my well-being, or so rudely by customer service represetitives. This company totally screwed me on my connecting flights, which has cost me around $500 so far and added two days to my travel just because they chose not to fly yesterday and then decided that mail was more important than me being home when they did decide to fly. By far the worst airline company I've dealt with in my 9 years of flying in the Alaskan Bush. It won't be long before this company is out of business. I know I will no longer be giving Grant any of my business nor will I let my family or clients fly Grant. read more

I have tried Grant Aviation several times while flying out of King Salmon. I have tried booking clients on Grant also; NEVER AGAIN. I gave up on them a couple of years ago. Grant took over the routes from King Salmon to destinations down the Alaska Peninsula from Penair a few years ago. Grants service was never good from the beginning and has become absolutely horrible. They will be happy to book a flight for you and quote a precise departure time. However, I have never seen them keep to any sort of a schedule. At best you will depart the date specified, but usually hours later then scheduled, and often they will keep delaying your flight until the weather or darkness precludes flying that day. Then you're really in a bind; very few places to stay in King Salmon, and if you find a place it will be way overpriced or more likely booked up. I once had a client arrive in King Salmon on the Alaska Airlines jet from Anchorage at about 11:30 AM, he had a flight with Grant reserved, it was schedules to leave King Salmon at 12:15 PM. My client went over to the Grant check-in counter after getting his bags off his Alaska flight. The Grant person told him; "Oh, we decided to leave here at 10:00 this morning", we'll be flying back down to Pilot Point the day after tomorrow", would you like to re-book?" No apology or explanation was given, he had to charter a flight at great additional expense with another flight service. This type of service is par for the course when using Grant out of King Salmon. read more

This summer I had the opportunity to fly with Grant Aviation from Cold Bay to Port Moller and back. Unfortunately, on the return trip the pilots refused to fly because the cloud ceiling was "too low". As a result, I got to spend an additional five days in Alaska and pay a $600 flight change fee - in addition to around $500 for food and lodging - to get back home. My appreciation for this experience was only enhanced as I sat in Port Moller, watching flights come in over the mountains - surely a much more dangerous trip - without a hitch. When Grant finally did get around to flying people out of Port Moller, the pilot just cut strait up over the cloud banks and flew by instruments, leaving me to wonder why it was that a little rain and a few clouds cost me five days of abject tedium and around $1100. Naturally, the staff in Cold Bay were paragons of courtesy. Come in at 7:56 a.m. to see about getting on stand by - because what the hell else are you going to do in Cold Bay - and you'll be greeted with a warm "Don't even talk to me until 8:00". In sum, I would highly recommend Grant Aviation to anyone who is a fan of unnecessary delays and dealing with a genuinely lazy, apathetic group of professional pedants. I'd even forward an advertizing slogan: "Grant Aviation: because if you need to get anywhere in bush Alaska, you don't really have a lot other options." Thanks Grant! Thank you for wasting 5 days of my life and costing me around a grand in out of pocket expenses! read more

I flew with Grant Aviation from Homer to Anchorage (45 min flight vs. a 4 hour drive) last night for the first time and they were wonderful. On time, efficient, and truly no hassle. They are very customer oriented and friendly. I have lived in Alaska for 3 years now and this is the first flight I've taken on a small plane and it was worth every penny.
