Alaska, I love you and in the case of Delta I have to say the same... Its all good here. Great gate agents, now in B concourse and generally always on time. I get a kick out of the mass of humanity that accumulates in preparation for red-eye flights in and out of ANC. Most of the year, Delta's flights out of ANC depart around 1am immediately following a flight arrival...the terminals are like half way houses for travelers, tourists and other wandering sorts who find themselves out of their hotel or home at a time when they are normally expecting to be asleep. Delta does a good job of keeping the chaos to a minimum, getting the planes loaded and in and out on time. However, there was that one time that a complete drunk made it on board and passed out in an emergency exit row...that was almost comical to watch the flight crew coerse him out of his seat so that a competant individual could man the emergency exit in the event of an emergency. I wanted to beat the idiot sensless but he was already there so why waste the energy, right? These are Delta jets here too so no small planes and generally great on-board service. The flight attendants keep liquored up in the front and sufficiently satisfied in the back to make it through the typically 5 hour flight from ANC to the lower 48. I have flown other airlines in and out of Alaska and find that Delta gives me the best service, best opportunity to upgrade and reliable departures. Oh yah, during the peak travel season they throw in some extra day time departures too...but be prepared to pay for the atypical travel times to Alaska. read more

Recently I flew round trip from Anchorage, AK, to Los Angeles, with layovers in Seattle. My experiences at the boarding gates and aboard the flights were good. However, Delta's scheduling practices and timing on the ground for arriving flights need more work. Yes, there are more air travelers in 2019, but that should not be the reason for a 35 minute delay to get to a taxi way for a flight that just landed. My inbound flight had last minute arriving gate changes that caused anxiety for flyers that had connecting flight layovers of under 60 minutes. The flight crew could do little, but meekly offered that "all flights are delayed, so you may still make your connecting flight." At my final LAX destination we had a 45 minute ground delay; we docked at a changed gate, it was 35 minutes before the plane could leave for the correct terminal. read more

Everyone I dealt with was nice.... but their service is soooooo slow! You can tell there is a major lack in communication and the employees are never on the same page and give out inaccurate information. It made traveling with them very frustrating. read more

Delta: please keep copying Alaska Airlines. On a scale of United to 10, Delta gets a 5.5. Delta is OK. It's usually a bit cheaper than Alaska Airlines. It's not quite as good though. I'm frugal grandpa and even I think it's worth paying a little extra to fly on Alaska Airlines. Why? Delta has craft beer and food like Alaska, except they're always out of everything good. No fancy brews for you, Bud/Miller/Coors or water! The seats are cramped compared to Alaska. The free media player in every seat is nice, but the video constantly skips every 20-30 seconds. I found myself just waiting for the next skip to happen, rather than being engaged in the content. Gogo inflight WiFi is worse than Chinese water torture (OK, this is a problem on all flights, I admit) The flight attendants are a bit absent-minded and/or loopy. The best part about Delta is that you can use your Alaska Airlines' frequent flier mileage number INSTEAD of Delta's, which you should do. read more

ANCHORAGE: The Delta gates at the Anchorage airport is fine. The people get us where we are going, there is a Hudson bookseller, and a hot dog station. Cons: The bathrooms are small, there are few charging stations, and there aren't enough seats to accommodate five gates in one small cul de sac waiting area. read more

I just flew into Anchorage yesterday for a week long vacation. After less than 12 hours of being here my boyfriend was involved in a serious car accident. Delta not only allowed me to change my reservation without paying the free but they also got me on a flight that wouldn't cost me anything for additional far. The representative I spoke with went above and beyond and I am so very grateful for what they did for me. I'll be headed home tomorrow morning thanks to these tine folks. Spent our Christmas Eve stuck, taxi'd on a Delta flight with a tired and bored 19 month old for 3 hours!!!! THEN....y'all finally decided to let people off to get food (thirty minutes or so was all the time we had been given) we get back on and have to sit around AGAIN literally going in circles for another 2 hours because y'all didn't have your sh*t together. Although other positive experiences. This time the staff at check in was super rude and showed lack of knowledge. She questioned the name in the reservation compared to the passport when they where exactly the same but in another format (not depending on us) it as matter of knowing that one is called first name and then last name. While Delta has significantly improved their customer service, as evidenced by the positive attitude of their flight crew (attendants), there isn't a Delta lounge in Anchorage. This would be a plus considering their flights out of Anchorage are usually at very late, weird time. read more

Delta Airlines is a complete shit show. Booked flight out of Anchorage, AK at 1:00 am and reservation was pushed to 6:00 am. Made numerous attempts to change flight to original via website and was met with 4 hour wait time on phone. You know I had a pleasant experience with delta. We got in the airplane and sat down, no issues. Then after our preboard checklist, we took off. The flight attendants were already getting ready to serve drinks and snacks. Also a huge plus was the tv is on the back seat of every chair and they had free movies which were very new or older ones. They also have basic cable which was awesome as well. For not flying delta in years it was a pleasant experience to say the least. I would fly delta again if I had to fly again. read more

Round trip Redmond OR to Anchorage, AK. Fell getting off plane for connecting flight to Seattle, had arrived late. Stewardess suggested I get ice from a restaurant on my way to the other terminal to catch flight. REALLY? flight from Seattle to Anchorage was 25 min late boarding. As soon as we were all on. Full plane. Pilot announces that plane needs de iced and we are in 10th spot in line so there will be an hour delay...actually slammed Seattle Airport with derogatory remark about not being prepared for weather. 35 minutes after boarded our luggage and animal carriers were still sitting outside being sleeted on. 2 hours after boarding...yes 2 Hours we were finally de iced and taking off. No food or snack service offered that whole time, only water. To top this off my daughter contracts a dbl ear infection and sinus infection while in Alaska. Dr writes note explaining she can not fly back to Redmond on schedule flight due to high risk of ear drums bursting. Delta isn't willing to change my departure date to the date written on notice from dr 5 days later so antibiotics have a chance to kick in. They are more then happy to cancel my flight and reschedule it at my expense. I paid for insurance so I'll have to deal with it thru Travel Guard but Delta service both on planes and on phone was terrible. I asked if there was a form to fill out for injury to my knee from fall and was told to call Delta and give flight number of plane it happened on, and reminded there are signs to watch step when departing. The lady's working the front at the baggage check may the 4th 2021 were incredibly disrespectful and rude. Threw our bags and coolers of fish on the belt with extreme force and alot of attitude. Won't fly delta again just cause of the interaction. Take my money elsewhere. Made us take tape off the coolers to prove no ice and then it wasn't taped nearly as well. The personnel are fine people. The disappointing thing is that they are squeezed for profits so much so that the food is mediocre, the seats are smaller and their employees cannot make up for it with any kind of better service. After way over ten years of saving Delta miles, my wife and I flew to Alaska ( first class ) It is not. The best that it compares to is business class ( international ) and that's a stretch. The food is no where near what it should be, awful compare to business class once again. Not enough free drinks can substitute for expected value of accommodations. PS I didn't even order any, but it's there if you want to escape the ordeal. I'm giving three stars, because I believe in 'Labor' and their people perform under challenging circumstances. read more

Super happy with the experience I received here at Ted Stevens. My husband and I were traveling we checked our bags in at the kiosk payed the 50 dollars four our two bags. As we went to give our bags to the clerk she saw my husband was military and immediately refunded our money even though he wasn't on orders. As we went to weigh our bags in they saw that both of them ur bags were overweight. Jennifer proceeded to tell us that if we didn't have an extra bag to put they extra week guy in we would have to pay the 200 to check them. I think her name was Daniele acted quickly and found us a box in the back gave us tape and scissors. We got the extra weight out and was on our way! Worst airline EVER. I will never fly Delta again! Original date of travel return flights were supposed to be: 12/13/15 DL 2449 LAS-SEA 12/13/15 DL 1903 SEA-ANC Flight DL 2449 was delayed so far into the evening I had to the choice to stay in Las Vegas another night or to stay in Seattle overnight. Since I don't know anyone in Seattle and I was traveling alone, I chose to go back to the Paris Las Vegas hotel where colleagues of mine were still staying at. I asked the agent if I could get a credit or something to go towards the cost of my hotel that night and the agent said no. So I just left and went to the hotel with a round trip taxi voucher where gratuity was of course not included and a 15 dollar meal voucher. The next morning I returned to see if I could stand by on a flight to Seattle to possibly get in earlier. I was ignored by every agent I spoke to. So I went to the gate where I was confirmed on a flight to Minneapolis DL 838. I then realized that flight was delayed and I would not make my connection in Minneapolis to anchorage. There was another flight going to Minneapolis DL 160 LAS-MSP immediately before the flight I was booked on so I went to the control agent and asked if I could stand by on that one so I wouldn't miss my connection, the agent yelled at me and shewed me away from the podium............... I then called the reservations line and the first agent I spoke to told me to "take my chances and hope I make my connection." So I called again, same response. I called a third time and a lady named Peggy booked me on Alaska Airlines through Seattle and said it was no problem at all. What is so upsetting is that it took me all of that in order for someone to help me. The mechanical delay wasn't my fault. I was traveling alone and it wouldn't have been a big deal to just put me on standby as a revenue passenger, frankly I would have got home a lot sooner had all of this been handled better. I ended up getting home on Alaska Airlines flight 109 at 9:45pm on 12/14/15. I used to work as a Customer Service Agent for a major domestic airline. I know the rules, I know what can and cannot be done for passengers and I know I was given the bare minimum. The way I was treated by the agents was absolutely unacceptable. It wasn't just 1 agent, it was all of the agents in that location. None of them could be bothered to assist a revenue passenger that was stranded there. I shouldn't have had to call reservations 3 times to get someone to find me another way home. I shouldn't have been turned away from all the agents in LAS. I felt completely helpless and broke down in the terminal where no one cared. I submitted a complaint to Delta customer care and they told me that they could offer me $75 dollars. Meanwhile, a friend of mine who was delayed only a few hours from that same aircraft on that same day was given a $200 travel voucher, 5000 miles and a $150 gift card. Yet, I didn't get home for over 24 hours after I was scheduled to originally and the agents at LAS couldn't even be bothered to put me on a standby list to maybe get out earlier let alone give me any travel vouchers. I am a sky miles member and travel for business and pleasure exclusively with delta! I have always enjoyed my experience with delta. However my last experience changed my mind and has me doubting their customer service and capability to receive my business. My journey cross country from VA to AK was awful. My flight to ATL from RIC was delayed due to mechanical issues and I would have been stranded in ATL for two days with my 1yr old son. We missed the bullet and got off the plane in RIC. I was told by the gate agent that their was no way to get our bags off the plane which meant we had to go buy a car seat and some clothes, diapers etc. then found out by the ticket agent that they could have gotten it off. I spent two hours at the airport discussing my baggage and ensuring it would get to anchorage that night and that my husband could pick my luggage up. I then found out that my luggage was sent back to Richmond. I had no way to get to the airport to pick it up. I called customer service multiple times and spoke to several people who were unwilling to Help me. I was hung up on TWICE by customer service reps and finally got someone who put a note in my file for the agents at Richmond to call when my luggage was locked up. That never happened. I asked several times in the phone if there was any way to have my luggage delivered to the address I was staying at and was told that was impossible. Then was called the next day and was told my luggage would be delivered the evening before my flight the next morning. The gate agent in ATL was horribly rude and refused to assist me when I found out that my son and I would be traveling 8 hrs in a center seat. I am honestly debating discontinuing my loyalty with Delta. I can get crappy service anywhere and might as well just start booking the cheapest flights... read more

This review is about Delta Airlines as a whole, it's about their polices, not about the local branch here in Anchorage. Delta looks for ways to get as much money from us as possible, whether it's ridiculous fees for taking our cat, or absurd charges for checked baggage, or not giving air mile credit on our respective Skymiles accounts, because we bought our tickets from a web site other than Delta.com, to charging for head phones that don't work well to watch a movie that is constantly interrupted, with poor picture quality. If at all possible in the future we will purchase our air travel from some airline other than Delta from this point forward. Alaska airlines are no better, if not worse. read more

Plus, she gave us a boarding pass with no seat! Only when we were about to board did we realize that and I didn't even know such a thing was possible! My daughters are 16 and 15, they fly alone ALL THE TIME, multiple times a year. However, according to Delta, my 15 yr old is considered an "unaccompanied minor" (Alaska airlines cut off for unaccompanied minors is 12 btw). I was told that I needed to pay an 'additional fee' since she was an unaccompanied minor - my 16 yr old is allowed to be unaccompanied, but my 15 year old cannot be "accompanied" by her sister because she isn't 18. Alaska airlines' unaccompanied minor fee is $50 - not horrible. Guess what Delta's is ---- $150!!!! FOR ONE KID!!! I couldn't believe it, we usually don't fly Delta, but my mom is dying from cancer and so we had to get to WA from AK fast. We were split up on different flights, I was arriving only 30 mins after them, in Seattle. I paid an additional $150 for what services exactly? I had to take both of my girls to their gate, and I had to wait for their plane to leave BEFORE I COULD RUN TO MY GATE. Then, my 15 year old daughter was allowed to exit the plane and go to baggage claim with her sister (16) without a chaperone from Delta!!! (WTF) I do not understand what the $150 fee is for! They didn't babysit her, or take her after the flight to the counter to wait for her dad... I will NEVER use Delta again due to this. They need to get their crap together and either bring down their unaccompanied minor fee or lower the age considered to be a minor. We will always go with Alaska airlines from now on. September 2 8 , 2014 when I flew out of Austin to Alaska and request to upgrade my ticket, the agent at the airport didn't even have the decency to look up in my face, all she said was it's gonna cost a lot. I said how much, then she looked at me with disgust and said over $2000, because I booked my ticket online. I asked her to check, she checks, and puts me on standby for $457 and of course when I board she says, there's no first class available. This lady blatantly lying, I got on the flight and there was more than enough seats available. Then when leaving Alaska the agent or whatever they call themselves these days was so lazy, asked me to book myself in the kiosk I ask why, she could not give me answer, after a few seconds she said it was faster, the crazy thing the guy behind me she took him right away. Then she comes to me and ask do I need any help, really? Hell no never again, so unprofessional. I can't stand Delta airlines. Always have problems with them. They Suck Ass. read more

Most abysmal airport experience I have ever had, and I have traveled a LOT! I made advance arrangement with Delta Reservations on the phone for my two dogs to travel with me on a flight from Anchorage to Seattle. The Delta resv. agent mentioned no unusual requirements so I arrived at the check-in counter with dogs, kennels, health certificates and luggage all set to travel. However, that was the end of easy. The check-in agent informed me that Delta no longer accepts live animals at the check-in counter and that I would need to take the dogs and kennels one mile South to their cargo facility! What a nasty surprise! I was fortunate to find transportation to cargo, courtesy of Alaska-Park (The Alaska-Park people are stellar at customer service. Park with them!! ) Upon arrival at Delta cargo, the cargo folks told me that Delta reservations had not reserved space for my dogs and they could not be accommodated on my flight! Discussions with both Delta cargo supervisors and reservations supervisors were still going on as my flight departed. If I could give Delta Airlines a negative 5 stars I would. read more
