This was a pretty good find when we made a trip out to Genoa, OH. The decor is older but clean. Very nice stsff and good home cooking for a good price. Looking forward to returning soon. Just Good Home Cookin' I stumbled upon this place after stopping off for gas on my way to Detroit. My mission was to find a place where I could get a nice country breakfast...mIssion accomplished. The crazy decor was an added entertainment bonus ;) I felt like I was in a time warp or some parallel universe. There was a lot of wood panelling, lots of chachkas, every room was painted a different bright color. The bathroom really can't be described (see photo). Woodville, is pretty desolate. Not much going on there. Granny's Kitchen is about it. I was hoping for country fried steak, but they didn't offer it. I opted for sausage gravy w/ biscuits, eggs, hashbrowns and a side of bacon. The side of bacon consisted of 6 pieces! Half my plate was bacon...mmm. I was a little disappointed with the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was a bit bland and I didn't care for the texture of the biscuits. But overall, a great breakfast and the price was right too...about $6 including coffee. Apparently, everything is homemade. They make pies, at least 10 different kinds are offered. If you ever find yourself is Woodville (god forbid), check out Granny's Kitchen for some no frills, down home cookin'. read more

If you love breakfast, here is the real deal! It was a little out of the way, but well worth it. Good down home cooking. The pancakes were fresh and home made - that twang from real buttermilk that I haven't hade for so long I had forgot it was supposed to be there! Eggs coked perfectly, bacon that was thick and crispy. My dining companion had the home fries and took them up on the onions - the potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly and the onions were done just right - not overcooked or burnt like so many places. I can't recommend this place enough! Even if you have to go out of your way a little, just do it. On the south side of the road, little yellow sign out front. They said they were getting a bigger sign since the widening of the road made their current one a little small. read more

It was well worth the drive to Woodville, Ohio, to eat at Granny's Kitchen on Friday. My wife and I both had the special of the day. She had the "The Hot Roast Beef" and I had "The All You Can Eat Walleye Fish". I love walleye fish and this is the best place to get it. Both meals came with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. From SoCal to rural Ohio (is that redundant?) to visit some family. When you arrive after a red-eye and it's 2:30am PST you're not that hungry. But when you have to drive awhile after your flight good becomes a thought. So we go to Granny's and take a seat after total strangers sitting having their breakfast say hello. The breakfast menu is a sliver on the side of one of those paper advertisement place mats. The prices for the meals were what we pay for a Grande whatever at Starbucks. I got the sausage and cheese omelet .. Which came along with onion mixed hash browns and toast. What an unlikely surprise. The portions were huge and I pushed past satiation because of how good it all was. $4.95 for all of that... Donezo. Had some coffee for the sake of having coffee. Overall: kind customers, great breakfast, accommodating staff (some of us made substitutions), and a low key environment. read more

Driving with your whole family from NJ for hundreds of miles is an already daunting task at times. But when you leave Cleveland to head to Chicago and you have a car full of hungry people and you don't see any signs of food around the task becomes even more difficult. This is where Yelp really made our day. I found this restaurant via Yelp and it had stellar reviews. Even though it was off the highway we decided to try it. I'm so glad we did. Prices are very reasonable. They do take CCs, and there is a 10% coupon when you check in on your Yelp App. Oatmeal was very good and fresh served with milk and brown sugar. The Biscuits and Gravy was off the charts good. All our omelettes and egg orders were cooked as we had asked for and even the coffee was stellar. Service from everyone was great and attentive. It was almost like we made some new friends on the road that day. We enjoyed it so much on our return from Chicago we stopped there again for breakfast and had the same excellent food and service. If you are in the area definitely make a stop if you are looking for a good reasonable place for breakfast lunch or dinner. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch while on a road trip. Don't let the decor fool you. It's aged, but definitely a diner. And it was clean!! That's always my #1 requirement. The gentleman running the dinning room was a very pleasant individual. They have their daily specials. Definitely diner type food and menu. We ordered the hot roast beef sandwich special with mashed (real) potatoes and gravy. Option of whole or half. Order the whole. You will be glad you did. It was yummy! Fantastic food, large portions, friendly staff, with semi parking in the rear. I've eaten here several times and have been impressed every time. The first time I visited, I was meeting a colleague for lunch. Since my food was brought to me in the middle of our meeting, I didn't eat it right away. The owner noticed this and remade my meal for me without me asking (let alone expecting it). They have treated me like family every time I've visited! read more

We hadn't been to Granny's for 15-20 years, though it is in our home town. We heard good things about it, so decided to have lunch there. I had the Friday all you can eat breaded perch, cole slaw and home fries, and my wife had half a roast beef sandwich with salad and green beans. Food was pedestrian, service OK, decor kitchy old time. We're going to wait another 15 years to visit again. 8/2/17 OK, I apologize for misidentifying the all you can eat fish. Regardless, you did not stop at our table during our visit, so we never had a discussion about the meals. Your parking lot is usually full, so apparently Granny's is doing much right for it's clientele! read more

While moving from Seattle to Rhode Island, we found this restaurant on yelp. It was a little off the beaten path, but it was worth it. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. Much better than stopping at a Burger King or McDonald's for breakfast. If we ever find our way through here again, we would definitely stop in for breakfast again. read more

I called the number of this restaurant today in error. A pleasant man answered the phone and asked me not to phone there since it is a place of business. With curiosity I checked out the business and I am so glad I did. After reading several reviews of Granny's Kitchen I will definitely be stopping in for breakfast or lunch one day with my husband. Looks like a great place for good food and a good cup of coffee. We travel a lot and critique restaurants by the taste of the coffee. Sorry I phoned especially during the lunch hour. Ouch! stopped in last night to give it another try. Served was okay. Food was horrible! When asked if we needed to go boxes, we declined was the food was bad. I politely said something to the server. The lady went to talk to her manager/ co-owner, although I told her there wasn't a need to. The co-owner stuck his head out the kitchen, said foods on us now now leave. A lame excuse for a home town restaurant... Let's face it, every year just gets worse. I'm done giving them my money.
