The food and service is always great when we eat here. And prices are also decent for a small town restaurant too. I recommend granny's definitely. Me and my family as well as friends have come here for years and always gotten great food and service. The perch is great too! And if you have any issues with your food or order they are great about trying to fix them with out complaining, and they're always respectful. The only thing I'd like to see them work on if possible is spacing tables out a little more the isles are a little tight, but it is also not a huge building either. Definitely a local restaurant! You can tell by the clientele. A all American menu with good down to earth choices. I ordered the veggie omelette which came with choice of toast. The onion rings looked amazing so ordered those as well to share. Employee was friendly and very pleasant. My omelette was delicious with lots of veggies and pepper jack cheese. Had a fun little getaway to Cherokee from Florida this week, and we were looking for a good meal. Tried Peter's Pancake House, but the wait time was out of reach, as we were leaving town and didn't have the extra time. Speaks well for that establishment, but.......... we happened upon Granny's right at 11:00 a.m. as the switch was made from breakfast buffet to lunch buffet, and may I just say it did not disappoint. From the hostess to the waitress to the cashier the encounter was as friendly as it could be. Everything on the buffet looked and was delicious. I opted for a salad from the salad bar, and the vegetables were fresh to perfection. The dressing was top notch. I had fried chicken, potato salad and fried okra up next that was next level. My travel buds had the chicken and dumplings, green beans, corn, smothered pork, and mashed potatoes, and said they were chef's kiss!!! Polished off this delightful visit with the best banana pudding I've ever had. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favor and save your appetite to a visit Granny's. We stopped for breakfast and we weren't disappointed! It's great home-town good American eggs and meat breakfasts. I had the corn beef hash with eggs and toast. My husband had steak and eggs. We also ordered a blueberry pancake. We both enjoyed our meals very much. My corn beef, as you can see in the photo, came like a patty but was moist and delicious. My husband's steak had great flavor and cooked to his liking. The pancake was light and yummy. My coffee mug was never empty and the coffee was hot and good. We will stop here again. COVID-19 protocols were followed and everything was very clean. The staff was attentive and friendly. Overall, a great place for a good, home-cooking style breakfast. read more

Needed a place to eat when heading back home. Bob Evans was packed so we found this place on Yelp. Driving through farm land and all of a sudden we seen Granny's Kitchen! It's about 5-7 miles or so off the main freeway. Quaint and cozy place. Lobby was super cute with decor. Inside is a large open dining room. Very busy, came on Sunday at noon. Good breakfast and lunch options. We went with breakfast. My husband got country fried steak and I got 2 cakes, 2 eggs, and 3 bacon strips. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Bathrooms a little icky. Single stall with a manufactured feel to it. Smelt old and musty. Bathrooms are in the back where the walk in and kitchen is located. They could use a bit of an update. Very good portions and good pricing. Food was excellent. Pancakes were fluffy, bacon was perfectly crisp, and eggs cooked the way I wanted. My husband enjoyed his country steak and it was filling. Coffee not so great, had a strange after taste to it. Pay your check at the cash register! read more

You can see the locals that say "the food is great" the way they go on, one that doesn't know better, may think it's some hidden gem. It's not. It's your run of the mill greasy spoon with the quality you'd expect for a run of the mill greasy spoon. Their prices are fair, food is good, large portions, and staff is typically fast and polite. All the right recipe for a fast meal with your family. I do end up going here about 2-3 times a month. Like I said, the food isn't bad. Prices are fair. Servers are fast and polite. It's wheelchair accessible. The bad: tables are too close set to one another, you can reach from one table to the next if you're in search of your favorite jelly. If you're looking to have a somewhat private conversation with the person/people you are with, you will not find it here. There is absolutely no way 2 wheelchairs could pass one another in the corridor area. The corridor area is quite cramped for even people on 2 feet if you are coming or going and there happens to be a wait for tables. Feels like a bit of a fire hazard really; should one break out in the kitchen. read more

Low quality food prepared by bored teenagers. I've been here twice and both times I was disappointed which when you think about it is kind of pathetic. I mean it's diner food how can you mess it up? They do. Somehow. The corned beef hash comes from a can and is so salty as to be inedible and the pancake breakfast is so bland it was forgettable. The ambience is bad. Overly bright lights and old chairs and tables. Just a cramped place with no elbow room. The restroom is around back and through a narrow hallway and the hot water never got hot. Folks that eat there probably don't care about hand washing though. I dunno the whole place seemed like it was halfway done. I can't recommend you go there unless you're desperate for Walmart quality food. read more

First impression: this place is out of a movie. It's everything you want an out of the way, small town gem to be. I came for lunch and was greeted immediately, and personally. Upon seating myself, the people already seated look like they were cast to be here. Some "healthy" sized folks, a couple pairs of octogenarians that overdressed to run their daily chores, a family with a 5 year old asking question after question. It really set the atmosphere. I ordered the fried bologna BLT, with fries and a side salad. Salad came out first, fresh, well composed, plenty of it and homemade thousand island dressing. Delicious! The fries were beautiful too. Big and thick, but cooked perfectly so that they were still crispy. Hearty slice of bologna, fried to caramelization. On ciabatta bread, which was a nice touch. There's also a reason everyone's review keeps mentioning the servers. It's noticeable when someone is good at what they do! These girls have it down. Mastery of the menu, show up about a half second before you think to yourself you might need them but also aren't overly at your table, and talk to you like a person, as opposed to somebody just placing an order. I really wanted to try the pie, but couldn't keep my hands off of those fries. If you leave here hungry you did something wrong! Lol. Guess I'll just have to come back again?! read more

A family diner full of local folks. A menu with home cooking and a kind smile when you sit down. I had the breakfast bowl and it was a plate-sized biscuit topped with eggs, potatoes, sausage and then covered in homemade country gravy. By 7 AM the place is 1/2 full and there was sweet banter among the folks there. My son had a waffle perfectly cooked and dusted with powdered sugar and whipped butter on the side. This little gem's food is as wonderful as its service. We stopped in for a late breakfast while on a road trip after seeing it pop up on our route on the Roadtrippers app, and I'm so glad we did. We were warmly greeted when we walked in and taken great care of throughout our meal. My son loved his patty melt, and my daughter her french toast. I ordered the country fried steak and added a side of corned beef hash (because it's hard to find where I live) and it was all perfect. If Granny's Kitchen was closer to Marion, my husband would stop by every day for breakfast. My husband drops me off at work at 6:30 every morning. Then he'll go have breakfast. We go there almost every Thursday after I get off work. Their all you can eat spaghetti is delicious. It keep us coming back for more. And their sausage gravy tastes just like my husband's granny used to make 40 years ago. He wondered how they got her recipe. Lol. Their beans and ham soup is just like my mom made. It's delicious. My husband loves their stuffed green pepper soup. And the coffee is the best coffee around. The service is great as well. The waitresses make you feel right at home. We have only had one waitress though because my husband keeps asking for the same one every time we go there. But I'm sure they are all good. The ambiance is like an old fashioned country kitchen. Makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Come as you are, no need to get dressed up fancy here. And their prices are very reasonable and the serving sizes are more than enough. Great small town spot for a great breakfast. It has a very homey feel. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and was able to grab a table right away. The service was very quick. My waitress was very friendly and made me feel very at home. Looking around, it seemed that many of the customers knew each other. I ordered a dish that had a slice of bread, home fries, sausage, gravy and cheese. It was delicious! Portion size was BIG. I wasn't able to finish! We were visiting my dad for Thanksgiving. I had not had a Holiday Dinner with my Dad since 1972. I was 17, I am now 61. We had a wonderful time. When we left to go back home, we found Granny's Kitchen. When I walked in. I felt so comfortable, it was clean, there were a few people that you could tell were locals. The waitress were great. Without hovering They took very good care of us. We enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was fresh, tasted so good. I ordered perch sandwich and fries. I couldn't finish the fries. They were cooked to perfection, nothing was greasy. When we go back to Galion, we will absolutely go back to Granny's . Next time photos will be posted. Forgot to check in (ughhhhh) but wanted to get a review. First impression: outdated, small, and borderline dirty. Upon walking into the place I felt like the music stopped and everyone turned to watch the city folk come in to eat (may seem like an exaggeration but not really). Staff got our menus and drink order lickety split, then there was a long smoke break apparently until anyone came back to collect our food orders. Meanwhile.... the old dude next to me was picking his ear wax with his finger and wiping it on his jeans. I had time to admire the bizarro coffee mug my mom received (see the picture). So random dude comes over to get our food order, and I order cakes, eggs, links, with a side of hashbrowns. The food was good - nothing amazing. I will say the pancakes were very fluffy and optimally cooked, so kudos for that. My eggs were overdone but otherwise everything was alright. The place got busy and people were standing around for tables. We were here on a Sunday around brunch so busy was expected. The place is fairly small so you may be waiting for a table (something to keep in mind). Overall, I'd not go back. The prices were cheap but nothing so great to draw me back. The clientele is overwhelmingly 50+, so we are talking regulars. If you happen to be in Galion maybe try it out, otherwise I'd head over to The Big Plate down the road because that place is phenomenal. read more
