Very limited options later in the morning so we opted for vanilla glazed, chocolate glazed with sprinkles and buttermilk glazed

Overall a good donut shop, friendly staff with a cute little interior. Had a bunch of varieties, but we went later in the morning around 11:00am. They were out of many donuts as expected at this time on a Saturday so we had very limited options. Quality was your typical donut. I wouldn't say they were the best we've ever had, but decent enough. A little bit dense and dry, when typically we go for light, fluffy and moist. If we're in the area and kids want donuts we'll stop in, but probably won't make the 20min drive just for this.

If you are a lover of Cinnamon Roll donuts the size of your face, you need to stop by Granny's Donuts and Bakery cause wholly smokes is it worth it!! Upon walking in I immediately saw the humongous rolls and knew I had to get one. It was flaky and the perfect amount of sweetness to eat on the road, plus no mess like a typical cinnamon roll! I also grabbed a red velvet donut as well as I've always loved anything red velvet. Tasty and the perfect sweetness as well, although not as big as the cinnamon roll lol. Definitely stop by Granny's for a sweet tooth satisfaction!!

Cute little local donut shop in oak ridge. Large variety of cake or raised donuts. They are never very busy. And have quite a few coffee options. The donuts for me are average- nothing unique or special. The staff is friendly. I believe they split tips with all employees. Owner included for all Shifts. Not a big fan of this. I believe you earn the tips for your shift.

I recently stopped by Granny's Donuts and Bakery looking for an afternoon treat. I ordered the assorted donut holes and they made for the perfect afternoon pick me up. They had a pretty big selection of donuts and other sweets. Also everything was fairly inexpensive in my opinion, so that was a plus. I really liked all the donut holes. The original ones were more light and fluffy and the red velvet and chocolate were denser like a cake. My boyfriend got a huge cinnamon roll and it was delicious as well!

I was in the area, and just happen to see this small shop in the parking lot. You can never go wrong with grabbing a donut until further feeding notice. There's quiet a variety from, not only flavors, but types of pastries as well. I gotten 1/2 dozen lemon filled donut holes, 1/2 raspberry filled, and a Wildberry smoothie. The donut holes and smoothie was good, yet very average. Maybe I need to come first thing in the morning so I can, at least, get the donuts fresh. Overall, my experience was decent. Far from bad, but nothing to brag about.

Yum, delicious sweet donuts for the sugar addict. I was craving donuts on my birthday and came upon Granny's donut shop. It is a small shop with large display cases. The first display case facing the front of the shop was nearly empty. I was about to be disappointed until I saw the next display case filled with donuts. My eyes were immediately drawn to the sprinkled donuts. We decided to purchase a half dozen donuts and I chose the strawberry and chocolate sprinkled donuts. The donuts were the ideal texture and covered with sweet frosting and lots of sprinkles. The donuts are large and satisfying. Plus the employees are patient and friendly. We enjoyed each of the donuts selected and recommend this shop to others!

Decided to try a new local bakery tucked away in a strip mall along N Main St across from High Point Visitor's Center. The case was filled with a variety of donuts--some old favorites and other fun twists--there were also cookies, other sweet, treats, and beveragEverything was well-stocked, fresh, and delicious. If you're in the area and craving something sweet, highly recommend stopping in!

Cullers, fritters, raspberry butterfly, cream filled donuts
    Stephanie V.

The crullers and apple fritters are amazing. I also recommend the raspberry butterfly. The donut hole are good. They offer day old blueberry, cherry, and apple fritters at a discount and they are just as good if you arrive too late and the fresh are all gone.

I absolutely love donuts and always get excited when I see a gourmet donut shop or local business. While none of the donuts were bad they weren't out of this world. The vanilla and strawberry donut was delicious but tasted very similar to Dunkin' Donuts. Their red velvet and chocolate glazed donut were good but not great just a little dry for my taste. Overall the donut place makes tasty donuts and has some other unique flavors and treats. The price is great and their service was very nice.

    Assorted half dozen Donuts
    Julio G.

Came here for some study treats and I was not disappointed! These donuts are on the cakey side and are very good overall! I got an assorted half dozen and after eating them I all I was quite happy! The shop is very cute and I really like that the donuts are on the cheaper side especially for how good they were. The staff member in the store was kind too. I wish I would've tasted their coffee, but I think overall their donuts were very solid but after having several donuts I think these a little more of something to bring them "over the top". Would give 4.5/5 stars so I rounded up, still highly recommend for a great treat!

    Yum. 'Nuff said.

But, I do need to advise anyone who is unwaveringly accustomed to the Italian and Portuguese bakeries of New England (at least in the 1980s), and similar places, the pastries here aren't quite at that level. The pastries I tried were a little dense and shriveled, with a slight sour taste (which could've also been due to some uneven baking, erring on the overbaked side). In an apple filled item, the small amount of apples weren't quite soft and sweet enough, as well. Overall, the pastries were nearer to those of a very talented home baker than the polished work of a traditional professional pastry shop. Of course, for this specific region, this will be an enjoyable stop. With that in mind, I'm not surprised there are long lines; it must be very exciting to encounter a shop like this for the first time. There are very few other bakeries making pastries of this type, much less good ones. It's very, very hard to make excellent pastries. But, if you come from a land rich with bakeries, just set your expectations appropriately. Plus, there is the critical difference between New England and North Carolina bakeries: Would you rather have pastries that are sensational from sullen and unpredictably snappish people? ...or pastries that are decent and charming from laid-back and friendly people?

I went in one day after lunch about a year ago and was completely overwhelmed because everything looked so good and I didn't order a thing. Stopped by yesterday and now I'm hooked! If you read my other reviews, you'll see where I tried another bakery's cinnamon buns twice and just was not a fan. Biggest critic was the lack of cinnamon in the cinnamon bun - this one is the opposite. There is cinnamon in every single bite - they even do the cinnamon-sugar on the bottom of the pan to ensure the crusty sweet goodness on their buns! This is definitely in my top list of cinnamon buns. The dough is so good and soft, the icing is to die for, and you know you'll get cinnamon in every bite just by looking at it! This is where I'll be going from now on when I don't want to make a batch at home! I also got the cookie butter cheesecake - how have I lived my life this long without trying this? Cheesecake, caramel and cookie butter in every bite! The cheesecake is super fluffy and I can't wait to try more of their flavors. I got my husband an ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie and we were both delighted with the flavor - it's the perfect balance of browned butter and bittersweet chocolate! He can't wait to give their oatmeal raisin cookies a try. For five in the evening, this place was hopping by the time I left. There was initially one person ahead of me and one behind the counter and as folks came in, two more came out the back to help! Everyone was super friendly and helpful! The shop itself is cute! I love walking in to see display case after display case of baked goods - all of them looking amazing! They also sell ice cream and coffee here! Definitely a bakery I will be frequenting often!

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.
