STAY AWAY!!! I would give this business 0 stars, if it were possible to do so. Initially I was intruigued because they were able to offer a cheaper than average (though not by much) product. Then they delivered the countertop: -It has a large dent that is very noticeable right next to the sink, as well as small scratches on the sides. -They did not sand it properly, which resulted on razor sharp backsplash edges, as well as a duller look. -They failed to do correct measurements, which resulted in an apliance not fitting properly, the backsplash being misaligned in places with the rest of the property, and gaps everywhere. I was frustrated, but figured these are potentially workable issues they could address by sending a contractor to fix. So I called them to get it resolved, and after MUCH avoiding and repeated canceling of the appointments, I was able to convince someone to come over through sheer persistence. Sure it was frustrating, but that is not too uncommon when dealing with contractors. At this point I thought I may just come out of this satisfied. Then the original contractor that messed up the installation in the first place arrives along with someone else. They start accusing me of wrong doing in order to avoid fixing their own shoddy work, despite me calling them literally 15 minutes after their initial departure WITH PHOTOS EMAILED TO DOCUMENT THEIR MISTAKES. Bottom line is that while everyone can get things right from time to time, when they made errors that needed addressing, they turned out to be a pretty dishonest group of people. Do you really want to take that chance when spending thousands of dollars on the central piece of your kitchen? I know I'm never using them again for the future renovations on my rental or personal properties. You've been warned: STAY AWAY!!!!! Edit: Contrary to the comment below, these were all issues that were present at completion of work, whereas the supplier has used the excuse that they were done after (despite pictures being taken 10 minutes after departure of the contractors) in order to avoid fixing heir sorry work. Don't go there! It's not worth it. The staff is rude and unprofessional. Once they got my deposit, they kept on giving me the run around. I tried to cancel my order but they said I would lose my deposit of $1000. On the day of my install they showed up 4 hours late. Bruna is extremely rude and the few times i called in she hung up on me. She is the worst one there. She lied to me multiple times. One day she told me that they couldn't do my install because they needed to fabricate the Granite, but come to find out they closed because of the world cup. read more

I've had the misfortune of working with the Granite Shop on a couple of occasions. They gave one of my clients a very hard time, refusing to correct errors and issues. Some time went by and I had another client who was very price sensitive so I figured I would give them a shot. Another terrible experience, poor quality, and some of the rudest customer service you can ever imagine. You can see I don't write reviews often so when I do they're sincere. I had a great experience at Granite Shop and wanted to share it. First off what this place has to offer is price. I shopped around and this place was literally thousands of dollars cheaper than the 3 other quotes I got for the same design - including Home Depot. My main contact there was Marisa who seemed to be the saleswoman there as well as the office manager. She was pleasant and polite with every interaction I had with her. I don't think the other reviews mentioning rudeness are fair. It is true they have kind of random holidays but she was totally up front with me so that was fine. For example from the get go she told me they'd be closed two weeks for Christmas. Marissa is my only contractor during my entire remodeling process that was calling ME to keep me on schedule. Working with contractors is worse than herding cats so that kind of scheduling was much appreciated. Looking at the stone samples on site is helpful but I would highly recommend visiting the wholesaler to see an entire slab. I actually totally changed my mind after doing this and I'm glad I did. For Granite its CBS in Winchester and for Quartz I believe its MSI in Norwood (these are wholesalers, you can't buy from them as a homeowner). Edwin came out to do my measurements and was very pleasant. They take very thin strips of wood to create a template with a glue gun. He was fast and accurate. I never trust any review that's 100% negative or positive and since I've done the positives I'll do the negatives now. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the day of the install that crew was a little rougher to work with. They weren't going to complete my backsplash until I called them on it. They also didn't have the dishwasher clips on hand but those are small details. English was not a strong suit here either but I communicated just fine withe the foreman. Also, customization here gets pricey very quickly. If you're ok with a pencil edge that's fin but a bullnose is going to cost almost any design a lot more- they do it by the linear foot. The slab I got made my cuts hard I think but they probably could have done a better job hiding my seam. Its a natural product though so I wasn't really upset. So long story short- would I recommend a friend there or do business with these guys again? Absolutely! I am in fact planning to use them for a kitchen vanity down the road. Customers who want a ton of hand hold and top notch service they're willing to pay for could go elsewhere. If you want a basic granite counter top at a very reasonable price go here. read more

Very rude, liars. I spent more than 3000$ at this worst shop and in the end we got yelled at by a lady. Always lies from the start, and they never call you about any updates. The woman at the office, is a big liar, she never listens. They made us wait for so long for an additional item, always giving some BS reasons, when I call. Never again. I couldn't get the exact granite I chose off their wall, the cuts were so crooked I wonder if who ever cut them was drunk! We added a small cabinet after the fact and I called twice to see about getting another piece of granite for it to match the granite we'd already purchased and I'm still waiting for a return call. I was referred to The Granite Shop by friends that had a quartz counter installed. I was so happy with the price they gave me that I thought there had to be something wrong. I got a price of almost double from another granite installer after driving there the same afternoon I got the price at The Granite Shop...I called and scheduled them to come do the template while I was still in the parking lot of the other shop! The only (slight) issue I had was scheduling the install. They called the afternoon before they wanted to come and I wouldn't be home on such short notice. After a couple of phone calls it was resolved. They installed the granite and it looks beautiful. I was just having a new floor and the granite installed in my old kitchen and what a difference it has made...love it read more

Fantastic experience through a recommendation from my brother. We were looking for quartz countertops for our kitchen and the staff was extremely helpful. When we found a slab we liked, it ended up being an expensive piece. The shop worked with us to find similar slabs based on our budget and we found the perfect piece. They were sending us samples to make sure we were happy with the selection. When it came to the installation, they were out here within a matter of days from picking out the slab to install. I was expecting a 7-10 day wait and instead ended up being around 4. Extremely fast and diligent, the countertops look amazing! It was a horrible experience!! People working there were extremely rude and unprofessional. Each time I called, they told me they would call me back but never did. And when I called again begging them to rush a bit for me, a woman took over the phone and said "I am going to cancel the order and refund to you. That's it". At the beginning, I tried to make it work (because I paid in January and was told to call after all appliances were in place. So I called March not know that it would take more than two weeks for them to come to do the measurements and ten days after measurement, they still did not know what date they would come to install yet!!). However, the woman continued to being rude. I asked her to help me on my situation. Then she said "everyone needed my help. But nobody is helping me. so why should I help you?" While being extremely rude to me, she tried to teach me a lesson "It's only ten days, and you are calling again and again. You should be more polite." My god. how can I be more polite?? I literally begged them just for them to keep their promise to call me back... In addition, the woman picked one simple item and said that they could not do that part -- how come the person who measured it never said anything and if I did not call, nobody would have called me to let me know that they could not do it? At the end, I took the women's suggestion to cancel the order and get my money back. You know what she said? She asked me to call my credit card company. When I called again with my credit company rep on the phone, a guy said they should charge for measurement. What a fraud!! Get customer's money and then keep delaying. When customer calls to inquire, yell at the customer and tell the customer that they would not take the job but still wanted to charge for measurement. Can you believe it? It was not even me who wanted to cancel!! The worst experience ever and wasted so much time... There are people who charge the same rate but much faster and kind... It has been a TRAUMATIC experience working with this company. We worked with them for 8 weeks, and we got no counter tops at the end. Templating went wrong, so the installer had to: 1. Cut into our walls at multiple spots and still wouldn't fit, leaving a one inch gap at one location between the stone and a wall 2. Seam that did not center at the sink, off by 3/4 of an inch! 3. Slab delivered also had a large chip the back side that the installer tried to hide. The installer only epoxied only the top of that one inch gap, leaving a hole at the bottom of the stone. They pour granite sealant all over our brand new stainless steel sink, which left permanent spots. Our general contractor (Buildpros, RI - Rouben Balagian) failed to notice some of these issues when he approved the install. We asked the company to at least fix the issue with the open gap, and give us a discount for the misalignment of the seam. It took the Granite Shop over 4 weeks to decide and promise us to replace our problematic counter top, and try to fix the sink. A new template done on week 6. We took extra time off to go back to Everett to finalize the template, then they sent someone to remove the exist counters and cleaned the sink as best as they could (still have permanent stains). 2 days after they removed the stone and all the templating done, the Granite Shop called our GC and said they have decided to take your promise back on replacing the counters, to leave us in limbo by taking away the existing counter top. 8 weeks of wasted time, and no countertop. We also found out later that they scammed us for 4 extra sq. ft of counter top ($200). Please stay away from this company for your sanity. read more

First of all i want to say i never write any reviews but i am unhappy with this place that i had to create an account to write this one. If i could give less than one star i would. I went in at the store and picked the granite and gave the girl there the dimensions of the granite i wanted. She told me they didn't have any workers and to call 2 days later to order it and they would have it ready for me. This was no problem at all. I call back 2 days later and ask for the same girl. She picks up and tells me she is busy at the moment and she would call me back so she takes down my number and she hangs up. Three hours later no phone call and it is close to 5pm "closing time" so i decide to call assuming she forgot or got "busy", no one answers the two times i called. The next day i call again and speak to the same girl who says she was really sorry because she got "very busy" and did not have time to call me back but i should send her an email with the order info and she will have it ready for me in 2 days. Email sent. I go there 2 days later and surprise surprise there is no granite ready for me to pick up. She gives me some excuses on how they had no workers, how they had to cancel orders because they were so busy and could not handle it, blah blah blah. My patience is being tested at this moment after explaining to her that this is not how business is done and how you are not supposed to lie to your customers. Even after all that i decided to wait until Monday so she could give me a call to let me know if my order is ready to pick up. It is now Monday 7 days after my original visit at the store. Never received a call so i decide to call myself and a new girl picks up. Asked her about the previous girl and how she was supposed to call me but never did, the new girls says she is busy at the moment and she will call me back. To this day i have yet to receive that phone call. Luckily there are many places that sell granite and know how to serve their customers. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. Read all the recent reviews from the last year. They are all horrible. They incorrectly cut my bathroom vanity sinks, which they provided, and now the counter-top is not able to be used as the bracket sits on the cabinet and not inside. The quality of work is so poor and their lack of customer service is astounding. Karla places blame on the customer, rather than owning up to the companies mistake. Even the owners son, said they don't care to do small jobs. In general, they just don't care. When Karla is met with dissatisfaction from customer she talks over them and she turns to lying and states to her manager that she was threatened. Needless to say, I the customer was the one who was saying I was going to call the cops as she refused to call the owner and stood there with her arms folded as if she didn't care. NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE!!!! We hired Granite Shop to install counters in a new kitchen. we then selected a material from their material list.it was a beautiful grey/ white quartz. we were told that that material is not in stock but they have a different type that looks very similar that they had in stock. we said ok and were unpleasantly surprised when i came to the house and saw a bright yellow color counter in my new home. not even in the wheelhouse of similar with the original grey / white we selected. the sales lady Carla was certainly one of the rudest and meanest representatives i have ever done business with. she made it very clear to say "tough luck, you are stuck with it" we called repeatedly to try and work out a solution with them but all we had in response are all the blame and some threats. i run a retail business as well and if i heard they way she talked to customers, she would be fired on the spot. very sad that they have decided its appropriate to treat people that poorly. now i have wasted $2,000 in material that i am having another granite installer rip out and replace with the material we had actually ordered from the very beginning. do yourself a favor and read the reviews before shopping there. i wish i had. read more

I was looking for inexpensive granite because we were doing our huge kitchen on a budget. I was drawn to Granite Shop by the $25 SF granite. After putting down a deposit, I started to see horrible reviews on yp.com and other websites. I had a pretty good experience. The installation was quick, the countertop is level, and you cannot see the seam. The granite looks gorgeous and isn't low quality (granite is granite - availability affects the price more than anything). The did put a little scratch in my wall (easily fixed with some joint compound and paint), but otherwise there were no issues. read more

WATCH OUT, DO NOT GO HERE!!! This shop is average as long as nothing gets damaged. The prices are great, but KARLA is tolerable and almost pleasant at first. Basically, everything about the shop is mediocre unless something breaks. First, it was difficult to nail down an installation date. They initially said it would take 3 days total to install, but then kept making an appt and canceling. I told them this caused difficulties since both me and my husband work full time and had to ask someone to be present at the time of the appointment to let them in. Then during installation, they scuffed up my newly installed cabinetry. I asked them to fix it, and at first, it seemed like they were working on it. They would make appts to return, but kept canceling. They said they wanted to match the paint color, sand and repaint, but I thought that would not look the same. So Karla suggested I forward them the cost/invoice of the panel that would need to be replaced. It was not even that expensive. It was a total of 89$. They ended up sending me a check for half, and ignored all my calls and requests to talk to the owners after that. Karla's behavior changed as well toward me as if I were no longer a customer to deal with. Regarding the quartz that I had installed, it was pretty enough and very cheap, but the quality leaves more to be desired. It gets marks and stains very easily. My friends who have bought quartz elsewhere do not have this issue at all. We visited several fabricators and went with Granite Shop, one of the better decisions my wife and I have made. The pricing was very competitive and the work performed from mounting the undermount sink to removal of our old granite counter top with no damage to our existing backsplash (How did they do that) and installation of the new counter top was all top notch. We had one minor issue with a small scratch on the countertop, customer service had an installer touch up the spot within 2 days of us contacting them. What's not to like? Great pice, outstanding work/customer service. If we need any other granite fabrication, we're going Granite Shop and so should you. read more

Our order was cancelled a day before installation was scheduled because our "walls were too wavy" for a granite countertop to be installed. This realization occurred a week after a template was made and we had discussed in person the solution to matching the granite to our walls. I was shocked at the unprofessional way this was handled and it caused a two-week delay in our project. We were able to go to nearby Select Granite and Marble and get an installation of the same counter with no problem, so I would guess it wasn't a problem of "wavy walls" but that they did not need our business at the time. Run.....I need to preface this by saying I work with business owners and contractors for a living reviewing contracts. I am familiar with the process. This is my unbiased opinion based on my experience. I am in the process of obtaining bids for a kitchen, baths and pantry; a fairly large order. The front-end person we met with, Karla, was very nice and accommodating. During the process she was helpful and when things in the proposal were not clear she would comply with my requests. However, given my experience for detail and to insure I am fully informed, the contracts were never quite complete in terms of square footage, cost per square foot etc. Although I requested the information to be included it was never quite complete. My original quote was a reasonable out the door price that was acceptable to us so we made the trek of 2 hours to meet in person. During the meeting there were some small additions and deletions to the original proposal. While there we traveled to their local supplier to look at the selection. We settled on the same stone for the kitchen originally agreed to in the original pricing, a stone they had on hand for the pantry and a marked-down wholesaler stone for the bathrooms. In the revised quote I received, after our meeting, there was a significant increase in the previous kitchen quote to the tune of 38%. When I questioned this, I was told it is a "premium version"(?) even though it was priced by the wholesaler as the second least expensive stone in their grading system. Not to bore you, everything else went in the same direction, upward, with an overall increase. Karla referred me to the manager who I "tried" to speak with. The manager was hostile and unprofessional and came at me from the time I picked up the phone. She spoke over me and basically told me she did not want to do business with us. This is a first for me but is telling in respect to it is their way or the highway. I listened to my gut reaction, lost trust at this encounter and chose the highway.....adios amigos. read more

I saved $1,100.00 off Home Depot's price and my counter top was installed the very same week. Karla was awesome and the install could not have gone any smoother. They quoted me - I went over everything and left feeling like I had completed my task. BOY WAS I WRONG. they dodged me and my phone calls for a week with excuses, acting annoyed with my polite inquires about my incomplete order and finally a diff person quoted me an astronautical amount greater - to which I pointed out was not okay. She said she "didnt care" and said "show me the papers" on this. Which is outrageous because during my week of chasing them their answer was that unfortunately their employee did not file any notes on my measurement and material. I searched all over Metro Boston to find the best price for granite counter tops for my kitchen. I found this place online and went to check it out. The prices and selection were very good. Just be aware they close for 30 minutes for lunch on Saturday...I got stuck here waiting to pick out the slab. I was able to work with them on where to make the cuts. They met their target dates and were responsive to our calls and requests. The installers came on a Friday, but found the counter base needed more support. They called the office and rescheduled for the following Monday at no additional cost, giving me time to reinforce the base. We are very please and the counters look great. read more

This was my second time using Granite Shop, and once again, I was very pleased. There is no question that they have the best prices in town. But price is not everything. The helpful and personal service that I received from Mariana was outstanding. I was struggling to balance what I wanted in terms of look with how much I was willing to pay. She had suggested White Ice for a 40 sq ft peninsula and a gray quartz for the perimeter. After visiting there multiple times and considering other options, I ended up with her initial suggestion (I should have listened the first time). She was FABULOUS to work with. When I thought I wanted to go with a very expensive quartzite, she looked everywhere to try to locate a slab that would work with my budget--but, after all of her hard work, I used a slab they had there. She communicated well, and was responsive to questions. The installation was great and the work people were very careful. There was a small problem with the finish of the quartz. They sent someone over to repair it, but they were not able to. As I was going away for the summer, they agreed to return in September to fix, and I am sure they will. If you are looking to save money, it is always best to use one of the slabs they have in their yard. The White Ice that I purchased at $39.99/sq ft was over $90/sq ft at one of the big box stores. read more

I purchased my granite counter top for my kitchen renovation from Granite-shop because they were the least expensive provider I could find in the Boston area. It took Granite-shop three tries to cut my counter top properly. This caused a delay of at least two weeks in my renovation and a lot of unneeded stress. First, Granite-shop cut the hole for my sink in the wrong place. To fix this, Granite-shop needed to cut an entirely new piece but refused to cut it from a new slab, instead telling me that I had to use a remnant. This was problematic. I purchased a counter top from Granite-shop that was to be cut from a single slab, not patched together with remnants, because my counter top has a seam and I wanted to make sure that the abutting pieces had matching veining and color. Using a remnant meant there was a chance that the counter top would look patched together from remnants. Luckily, I was able to work with Granite-shop to find a remnant that looked okay. But then Granite-shop cut the hole for the sink in the replacement piece improperly again, this time the hole was too small! The installers didn't notice this and luckily I pointed it out to them before they got too far along in their installation. Finally, on the third try, Granite-shop cut the hole for the sink properly. Overall, the counter top looks fine, but the delay and stress were not worth the saving of going to an alternative provider. read more

customer service is AWFUL. At first they seem great once they have your deposit things change fast. I purchased my granite and was very impressed with the service and price I was receiving. Husband had surgery and cabinets where delayed in coming in. Once I called to have template and installation was nothing like she said. Took ten days. Never returned my call or call with time of installation. I had to keep calling. They was suppose to show up between 12-2 and was a no show I called at 2:35 to be told by a different customer service and different company all together that they have been in accident and vehicle and my granite had to be towed..and would call back in hour to say wether or not they could even make it that day. Once again wait hour and half to have no call I call them once again I call the lady whom called me from the Malden (excel maybe was name ) company to go to voice mail, so I call granite shop again to go to voice mail. Once I finally get a call back they are saying they can not make it today will be first thing tomorrow. Ha that turned into after 12:30 that day. I paid for extra person so there would be no seam, well five guys showed up instead of to. They forgot to cilacone back splash on one wall and I paid for extra guy and five show up and I have two cracks in my counters. FIND SOMEONE ELSE - ANYONE ELSE - If there was less than 1 star I would give it to them. They are three days from installation of our counters and they backed out of the job because we would not pay the extra charges they wanted to make up for honoring the $25/sq ft price they advertised when we ordered it. In their original quote, they charged us for extra labor which we agreed to. Then, when their technician came to measure for the job - which was the exact same as the original drawings - he came in with a serious attitude and said they would have to seam the counter down the middle - what legitimate granite contractor would even suggest such a thing? If there has to be seams, you put them on a diagonal so they would be less noticeable not straight through the middle. They had already decided they did not want to do the job and were looking for a way out. No legitimate contractor would leave a customer hanging 3 days before the work was scheduled to be done.
