I went to my second wedding reception at G/L over the weekend. Once again, the ambience was magical, the service was terrific, and the food was fantastic. I have seldom been to a wedding where the food was edible, much less fantastic like this. At this last event, our server was Jennifer from Norwell. She was a gem! I've been to G/L's bar and restaurant several times, and the service and food are great there as well. Now I have to try the course! read more

Starting off my golf season at Granite Links was intimidating at first since I was rusty from not playing for months. Usually courses like Granite Links is reserved for later in the season but not anymore. The staff was extremely professional as soon as I entered the pro shop, the carts were clean, the rangers were beyond helpful. We had a 1:00 tee time but managed to complete our round in time despite my foursome being new to the course. Even in situations where we had a blind shot, a ranger was there to point out where the ball landed. The conditions were fantastic. It was nice to hit from a lush fairway and putt on a great green-- all the while the skyline of Boston was just off to the side. We had the tour experience. We ended up closing out our round with dinner at the tavern. This alone is worth a trip. If you want to actually enjoy your round from start to finish- definitely consider making Granite Links your go-to. You deserve it. read more

Went 9/9/2023 and got a drink at the window where two blonde girls were working. I used my card and a couple days later when the total cleared extra money was taken out of my account. I called the Tavern and spoke with the manager Jill and she did that there are no hidden fees or anything so she isn't sure why the extra money was removed from my account but assured me she would look into it. She has never called me back and I have called several times to find out what happened. Keep receipts and check accounts when leaving this place or you may also have money missing from your account. I had to add a star to post or this place would have gotten zero since management never followed up, and money has been missing. read more

Overpriced golf - unfriendly staff. You'd have to be an idiot to be a member here. Conditions were good. Ranger was an a-hole. Hey, I just spent $150 to play, so be courteous. My group consisted of 4 experienced low-handicap players - and we're all members at other places. We don't need to be told to pick up the pace when we're waiting for the group in front of us. If you're looking for a "private club experience" for a day, Granite Links is NOT THE PLACE. BTW - food was average. Yes, views were terrific. There's many better places on the South Shore to pay daily fee golf. read more

This review is seriously overdue, as our wedding was in July, but our experience with Granite Links was so incredible I wanted to be sure to give the Granite Links the stellar review it deserves. My husband and I were married July 30, 2017 at Granite Links. We had chosen Granite Links as our vendor several months in advance (March, I think). We were immediately hooked up with Linda Blackmore the Senior Sales Manager and event coordinator who would help us plan our entire event. Linda was absolutely fantastic--she knows her stuff, is right to the point with everything, and has excellent suggestions re: vendors. She was with us every step of the way, tolerated and responded to our thousands of emails, and was there the day of the wedding to be sure everything went smoothly. Our family and friends continue to tell us it was the best wedding they've ever been to. We have Granite Links to thank for that-- the venue is absolutely beautiful, the views of Boston over the greens of the course are gorgeous, the sunset is unbeatable and the food is delicious. The staff ensured that everything went completely seamlessly-- my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing the day of. It's ok. 4.5 stars. I was expecting more, as the menu is pretty standard and offering nothing special. There is not a traditional brunch buffet, so you're relegated to the menus. Great use and repurpose of the quarries up here and the view is beautiful. The Tavern likes to make money, and that's obvious. The course is beautiful and you've a nice view from the Tavern. The Tavern seems a little discombobulated... no juice available, the middle-aged waitress seems disinterested in us as a customer and chews her gum like a cowing noshing on her cud. Ordered the Par Five. Two eggs, two Pieces of bacon, one sausage, potatoes and an English muffin. Not bad, the potatoes were the best part as they had a few pieces of sweet potato to mix things up. Had to ask for a second juice and butter/jelly. Over all... it was OK. I was expecting more. I'd try them for dinner. I will be honest, I did not play golf while I was at Granite Links, I was chaperoning the prom. The ballroom is beautiful and I was impressed with how clean it was. After my chaperoning duties were over, I snuck downstairs to the bar and the bartender was kind and the wine pours were generous. There are some beautiful views of the city from up there too. Worth stopping for a drink if you are in the area. read more

For the $150 price, you get 60 mph gusting winds, no horizon to track your ball, layouts that lead to the wrong green, a ranger with a bug up his ass, and a layout so confusing you inevitably end up on the wrong hole! Granite Links' Ballroom is the BEST place to host a wedding. The Boston skyline view, the spacious ballroom, the huge windows overlooking the golf course, the balcony, and the staff are reason enough to pick this venue over others. But can we just talk about the food? Incredible! We had lobster rolls and lamb lollipops and a Mediterranean table and a dessert station and an included Montillio's cake, and sea bass, filet, chicken, and mushroom ravioli for dinner choices. Theresa was our coordinator, and she worked with us through a postponed date from 2020, a revised date, and a reduced invitation list due to more recent COVID concerns from our guests who were traveling. Our decor was extensive including the chuppah and rented gold curtain, but Theresa and her team got everything right, down to the votive candles on the tables. There are not enough thank you's to express our appreciation for a wonderful time! Be sure to tour Granite Links while you are venue shopping, you will be surprised at how fantastic it truly is! PROS Beautiful views of Boston and an extremely scenic golf course as you look down from the higher elevations. I love coming here in the Fall to see the leaves changing. The conditions are generally very good. The course sees a lot of play but they do a great job maintaining it. Extremely close to Boston. Looking at 15 - 20 minutes. In the Summer with Cape Traffic, it might take a little longer but you're not stuck in the really long slog like you'd be if heading to golf courses south of Boston. Good clubhouse. I don't really spend much time here but it's a pretty nice place. The pro shop is well stocked and fairly upscale for a public course. CONS There are definitely some wonky holes. The splendor that you get from the first tees on Granite and Milton is not always seen as you get into some of the lower elevation holes that run up against the edges of the property. There are also a lot of short par 4s which can be fun but I think are better used sparingly. Don't expect to complete a weekend round in under 5 hours. There are two warmup greens but no real short game practice area that you would find at other top public courses like Pinehills. NOTES Granite Links is divided into three 9 hole courses: Granite, Milton and Quincy. At any time, one of those 9 is reserved for members so you don't really have a choice. That said, if you come in the Fall on a slow day, you can usually take your pick. All around, I would say that the Milton 9 is the best. The Quincy 9 is not as scenic but I really like the layout of most of the holes. The Granite 9 has a few good holes but is by far the most disappointing, especially towards the end of the round. The driving range here is a nice place to come in the evening with a friend as it stays open fairly late (they have lighting) and you can grab a beer and a sandwich at the tent while you work on your game. The course can get quite windy and while they've trimmed down a lot of the fescue and the fairways are typically quite wide, there is usually at least one side on each hole that is very unforgiving. It can actually be a pretty fun place to play in the wind and practice your technique as it typically blows fairly steadily in one direction rather than swirling around. My Yelp rating for this course in the Summer would be closer to 2 stars. The pace of play is very slow and the rates are pretty ridiculous. I will always have a soft spot for Granite as I've had some great experiences there over the years since I began golfing. You can find some great tee time specials in the Fall here which is the perfect time to go. The 4-5 rounds I play here annually in the bumper months make up for the futility of trying to play here in the Summer. read more

My brother treated me to a round at this course the other day and both of us were incredibly satisfied with our experience and what we received for the price of greens fees. This course is obviously on the pricier side but it is 100% worth the cost of admission. Golf carts all have GPS in them that pinpoint your exact location on each hole and the change I pin location for each day. These gps's are critical for first time players because it is a rarity to actually see where your ball lands on this course due to its elevation. The carts also track score and restrict driving abilities in certain areas of the course which seems annoying but in my opinion makes people follow the rules which are meant to keep the course in shape. There are three 9 hole courses here titled; Milton, Quincy, and Granite. We played Quincy and Granite and were both blown away by the views of both the city and the south shore bay/coastline. Both sets of 9 were in impeccable condition and presented challenging and cool hole locations and fairways. The course was true to its New England nature in that it was hilly and had a lot of slopes to adjust to. Would definitely go here again and perhaps make it a yearly trip as it is still a costly round of golf. That being said I do feel like I enjoyed a round of golf that was akin to the price I paid! read more

I've spent a lot of time here and at crossing nines over the past few years and was extremely disappointed tonight. I was there with my wife tonight to celebrate our 6th month wedding anniversary and left rather quickly instead of enjoying our night. After some waiting time after sitting down we got our drinks ordered. When drinks got to our table we were encouraged to order our meals with our appetizer because they were busy which we weren't keen on we ordered our meals. After less than 5 minutes we received our entrees that were less than desirable without our app. I got a dish that was lukewarm and thought it was out for 20 minutes with an option of a side that was missing and the wife got a bowl that felt like it premade and missing all flavor. Our waitress didn't come over for 15 minutes after we were done with our sub par meals to ask if we needed anything. Everything felt rushed and it was not enjoyable. She claimed that she forgot to put in our app even though it was written down stating that we wanted the app to come out before everything else . Guess we have to order everything one at a time along with bringing a heat lamp to heat up our meals if we ever return. read more

The best part was the quality and quantity of the Thanksgiving feast they prepared. The turkey white meat and dark meat was flavorful and well seasoned for reheating . Terrific stuffing mashed potatoes rolls / cornbread / cranberry chutney / salad green beans butternut squash and two wonderful pies This was terrific as our daughter and husband just brought hoke their first born last week. I recommend skipping the Mac & Cheese: the sauce was thin and runny and the short ribs ($10 up charge) consisted of three small bites of beef. A group of 10 high school friends (in their 70's) got together on 10/14/22. It was an amazing experience. The service was spectacular and the food was awesome! As it relates to weddings: The place was beautiful and the staff was great with one serious exception. The blonde lady working the bar was INCREDIBLY rude. I witnessed her throw her arms in the air and roll her eyes as costumers, asking if they could order a drink, were immediately turned around (by her). Unbeknownst to them, the bar was apparently not open at these particular times. She showed a clear dissatisfaction for her job took it out on the customers, which directly affected their experience at the wedding. Multiple patrons expressed this same dissatisfaction. We all experience difficulties in our lines of work. We should NEVER let our poor attitudes or "bad day" have this dramatic of an effect on customers. Especially when it is the one day of someone's life that they should be able to enjoy with no issues. read more

Food quality is good. Quantity was modest (my filet was about 5 ounces). Wine well priced and tasty. Service was good despite it getting busy. I noticed our waiter padded the bill with $10 extra when I got my CC statement ($93 check - left $19 tip which should have been $112, but CC charged $122). I'd go again, but next time take a photo of receipt. This seems to have happened quite a few times in the past year at various places. Not usually $10, but a couple bucks here and there. read more

I've always loved the food here, and the views are amazing, but after the second time in a row now with horrible service I'm sad to say I will not be coming back. I took my mom out for a late Mother's Day lunch. Our drinks arrived well after our appetizers. Our waiter did not ask us how our food was. He was too busy chatting it up with what looked to be the manager. My dad asked for a drink that he forget to get. We would've got another round of drinks but we sat at our table so long with empty drinks that we said forget it. He finally took our food order when the apps were long gone, and we proceeded to wait an HOUR and A HALF for a turkey club and a quinoa bowl! I would not recommend anyone coming here unless you want to spend all afternoon waiting for a salad and sandwich. read more

Getting married at Granite Links was the absolute best decision we made for our wedding!!!! We had about 230 guests, a large bridal party, and used the tent for cocktail hour and ballroom for the reception. The level of service from the wait staff was beyond what we could have imagined. They were so incredibly kind, professional and attentive and to our guests. We could not have asked for a better group of people to be interacting with/ serving our guests the day of the wedding! The food (and I cannot stress this enough) was absolutely AMAZING. From the presentation of platters at cocktail hour, to passed food, to reception meals- everything was so delicious. We had multiple guests tell us that the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding!! Our day-of coordinator Julie was AMAZING! She tended to our bridal party, assisted us during photos, escorted us to different photo locations, provided us with food and drinks during pictures, and (most importantly) made sure we moving through our day-of agenda and bringing us everywhere we needed to be. We were paired with Sara Coyne who was an absolute DREAM to work with!!!!!! Sara is incredibly kind, smart, professional knows weddings like the back of her hand, and has amazing attention to detail!! She made everything so easy for us throughout the planning process- making recommendations, offering her opinion, etc. We could not have done it all without her!!!! If we could do it all over again, we would pick Granite Links and Sara Coyne in a heartbeat. Please do yourselves a favor, and get married at Granite Links!!! read more

This review is only for the customer service of the event planner. I was really interested in this venue for my wedding next July. After checking out the site, we wanted to sign a contract. Our request to sign a contract, however, was ignored for 2 weeks. After my few polite emails, and attempted phone calls, she finally emailed us back the contract except it didn't include the changes we requested. It was also just a generic email with no apologies/explanations as to why she didn't reply for 2 weeks. I still responded to her email politely pointing out that there is still changes that need to be made to the contract. To this date, no response. So after a month of begging them to take my money, I finally gave up. I have visited about 10 different wedding venues, and this is the ONLY one that was not at all eager to have our deposit. I mean my last email actually told her if you cannot give us a contract, can you at least take my credit card to reserve the date? And she STILL ignored me. Wow. read more

I attended a wedding at Granite Links, so this review has absolutely nothing to do with the actual "golf" part of this club. But I can say that the views from the clubhouse / event space are beautiful. It was a clear day and the skyline of downtown Boston was perfectly visible on the horizon. The evening sun was beaming through the windows during the wedding ceremony, making for a sunshiny feel without the down sides (sweat, bugs, etc.) of actually being outside in the middle of summer. After the ceremony it was back to the entry way for a cocktail hour, where several bars were set up. I didn't have to wait in long lines for drinks, which is obviously key. The food was also good. The dinner and dancing was very nice, with quick service, a large dance floor, and more than one bar for quick refueling. Anybody in the Boston area looking for a place to get married should definitely consider Granite Links, though I have no idea what it costs. :) read more
