3/10/18 A#1 Service came out to replace an old duct that had holes in it. From my first call to the office, the emails and text alerts to the work being performed - everyone was outstanding. The technicians Sal and Cecil were great, very professional, knowledgeable walking me through the steps, and finished with a clean area. Any questions were answered. I couldn't be move happier and in fact signed up for their 2 year maintenance plan! 2 year Maintenance Plan was $140 and includes a yearly air conditioning check, heating system and plumbing check - so that 6 times in 2 years our systems will be checked for $140 that $23 each!! 4/4/18 Our air conditioner was cleaned and checked today as part of the maintenance contract. Sal did a great job and found our compressor was not working. Since we have a home warranty with Fidelity, we called them and because A#1 Service is one of their vendors - a new compressor was put in the same hour. Perfect timing before our desert heat. Oh, the cost was $39 for a service call, A#1 gives a break from the normal $75 service call with Fidelity. That's great service, thank you Sal! 11/1/18 David from A#1 Service Heroes came out in October to provide my free plumbing inspection from my service agreement. He found my 13 year old water heater had bad piping - it had copper pipe attached to old iron pipe generally used for gas - there was a lot of corrosion as well. I decided since the hot water heater was old to just replace it. Today, David and Gabriel put in a new 30 gallon Bradford white water heater with new ball valve, gas flex, gas value, stainless steel water flexes, new t&p, earthquake straps and rerouted the t&p to exterior. All for a total of $1,775. They were both very professional, efficient and left the area like they had never been here. David was mentoring Gabriel and definitely shows leadership, congratulations A#1 you have terrific employees. By the way, the office staff is superior as well. You can call the office and they immediately understand what you need. A#1 sends out a text and email with the technician's picture before they arrive. And the office calls to inform you if any changes in the schedule will occur, for us they were able to arrive in an earlier time slot. I have worked with 4 different plumbers since we bought our house but will no longer contact anyone other than A#1 for our heating, air conditioning and plumbing needs. By the way, when I contacted Home Depot to see a comparison charge, they quoted $2,300 with a Rheem water heater which I understand is of lesser quality. read more

We called A-1 when we were having trouble with our A/C in our newly purchased home. Sal and Gabe were our first contact, they were personable, professional and knowledgeable. We were satisfied with Sal's inspection and verdict that the system needed to be replaced. We interviewed several local companies and decided to go with A-1, because of their matter of fact no nonsense approach. Zane met with us and crunched the numbers and options, he was clear and anything but high pressure. The day of installation was hot however it didn't bother Chris and Robert. They did an excellent job with very little disruption. There was the beautiful unit, however no air was coming out of the vents. Chris called in Sergio to crawl into the hole Robert put in the ceiling and discovered the ducts were damaged. Kyle and Bryan came to the rescue to fix the torn ducts only to discover that a family of raccoons had lived in the space above the ceiling while the house was vacant and had used the duct system as nesting material. The damage was extensive. Joey and Gonzalo came over to the house to discuss what could be done. A plan was outlined that included removal of the debris left from the raccoons, before new ducts could be installed. The weather was to get warm in the next couple of days and the crew were at the office discussing that we had no cool air. Kyle and Bryan came over before they were to start another job and added temporary ducts so that we would be comfortable until the work could begin. Kyle and Bryan worked long days in cramped spaces to provide the best possible airflow. We have the new ducts and we are enjoying cool comfort, we have also a new circle of friends. After moving into our "cosmetic fixer", we found our HVAC wasn't performing. Our insurance company sent 2 people from A-1 over. Sal and Gabe worked late into the night to fix it. They clearly and patiently showed us what was wrong with our system. Bottom line: The HVAC and hot water heater would soon need to be replaced. We met with three other reputable HVAC companies and decided to go with A-1. Zane and Sal were clear in presenting options and complete prices for resolving the problems. Everyone from A-1 was considerate, polite, helpful and competent. Chris and Robert did an excellent job installing the system. A-1 discovered that our ducts had been destroyed by raccoons. To install new ducts, a dozen man sized holes had to be cut into our newly finished ceiling. With a hot weekend coming up, Kyle and Bryan showed up unexpectedly. "We've been thinking about you, and didn't want you to suffer through the weekend with bad AC. If it's ok with you, we'd like to run a temporary bypass so you can be more comfortable." They worked 2 hours at no charge to make us comfortable. After our water heater was installed, the hot water wasn't as good as before. A-1 manager Joey Sanchez offered to install a pump and whatever else may be needed to give us good hot water, all at no charge. They fixed the problem (a crossed line resulting from a repair by a different company). These are but a few examples of the fine service and attitude displayed by everyone representing A-1. One day my A/c went out and it was hot in my house I called A/c companies and they could not get to my house till next week but A1 was here the next day Brandon came out looked at every thing our fuse was blown he talked to us on needing a new unit because the old one is old and the fuse will be blown again he told us many ways we could pay for the new one but just incase the fuse gets blown again we could call him at any time he will be here to replace it i felt like he was telling me the truth he said they will be here on saturday and they did show up on saturday Kyle, Dominic and derrick worked in this heat and didnt complain i had a lot of questions and they had the answer they also checked every vent in the house to make sure the air if going and i was there with them and they would show me the number it was reading i have a two story home and now upstairs you can feel the cool air and when you walk up the stairs you dont feel the heat its all the same temp these men r so professional and they do great work im glad to say my house feels great i want to tell everyone about this company because the r A1 to me if you want a great company to work on your a/c unit call them you will be happy they also call you by your last name when they talk to you and yes they cover the shoes up when they walk in read more

It seems this company has a LOT of bad reviews... The owner (Greg Granger) blames the bad review on the reviewer, instead of on the problem ! Since the company was taken over in 2019, it has received numerous negative feedback, which the owner chooses to ignore... They do NOT stand behind their workmanship, their product, or their warranty. Greg says that he doesn't care, as he will rely on the positive reviews obtained BEFORE he took over the company.... As numerous others have said....Buyer Beware of this company !!!! Update: We discovered today, that there is a Class-Action lawsuit against the manufacturer (Rheem) for defective condenser units, causing loss of Freon, and the rapid eventual failure of the unit. Rheem is searching for a remedy to this problem..., as hundreds of units are affected. Funny how GREG, the "EXPERT" owner of this company, is unaware, or more likely, HID this fact from his customers (including us ) and continues to sell and install these units today ! The failure of our unit had NOTHING to do with a failure to do maintenance on the unit, (A FALSE accusation by Greg), and that has now been substantiated by the manufacturer (Rheem)....!!! This information has now been provided to the CSLB and his Bonding Agent. Funny how the truth comes out ! read more

We just replaced our complete furnace and AC system ( 2 each). This company is wonderful to work with and honest. The house was measured to make sure the type of system was proper for each of the 2 zones. Their installation crew was on time, professional and hard at work for 3 days. We also had all of our ducting replaced as it was old and dirty. What a difference that made in the fresh air and keeping the house clean, along with the fresh air filter. Vince had great follow thru in checking the days after the install if all was operating. We also replaced the Nest thermostat that the previous owner put in (really hate that thing) with a high efficiency wi-fi simple and easy to use one. I can instantly check the system and make changes from anywhere and it will not take over my preferences. We are part time here so that is important to check it in the summer. Last year the Nest "took over" and ran up a big bill. I just want to say that I admire a company that is run with integrity and does perfection work. I have used Costco in the past and found them really not as reasonable as you would think and not having the precision in their work. Don't hesitate to interview them for your work. read more

Today we had the guys install a new RHEEM AC/heater unit and hot water heater. First Greg is fantastic. He is the reason that we decided on this company. He is efficient, caring, and really there is a measurable here on a human level that make you fee very comfortable about working with this company and a long term relationship. Robert, John, and Daniel were the installation team. They are awesome. Professional, fast, precise, meticulous, and clean. My wife Maria could not be happier. They were prompt and immediately got to work. Right through their lunch break. We are very impressed. Later on Greg returned with Gonzalo and Dan to inspect the work and go over the entire project with us. Very thorough. We are in good hands. We recommend A#1 Service Hero's to anyone that needs heating, air conditioning, or plumbing assistance. The primary reason for that is Greg, Robert, John, Daniel, Gonzalo, and Dan. Absolutely great service from everyone. All the associates were helpful, efficient and respectful of our house and pets. We were notified each time an employee was on the way to the house from initial evaluation (Sal), proposal for work to be done (Zane), a supervisor (Gonzalo) who stopped to check on the progress and Sam and Jaithan who helped on "ducting day", and Manny who picked up and delivered supplies. Two very old units were replaced with two new Rheem units. In addition to that, old ducting was removed from the attic and new ducting & additional filtration units were installed. A#1 employees kept the dust in the house to a minimum and cleaned up every day when they left. SPECIAL thanks to Robert and Daniel who were here every day throughout the project. We just had a complete a/c and heating system installed by A#1. We selected them based upon reviews and confirmed our selection after a very professional and informative meeting with Dominic. The installation team was a 10 - professional, thorough and courteous- traits rarely found today. Our system was quite old and any complications during the new system installation were overcome in a thoughtful manner giving us choices to maintain acceptable aesthetics. The end product was perfect - every vent was examined and sealed, ductwork tested and any leaks eliminated. We now have a great, efficient system which will keep us comfortable for years When you select a new system be sure to do your research and understand your needs. I called A-1 Service Heroes to replace my old central air conditioner and water heater because they were outstanding in the past when they were here servicing the old A/C system and felt confident in their professionalism when they would come the same day or evening including weekends responding promptly for an emergency. Those men worked very hard in 120-degree temperature to install the new system. They were courteous, polite and did everything right. They are real pros right through the install to the cleanup!!! And they returned to make adjustments and replace the old return register and filter. I'm delighted with the new system, the men and their work . A1 Service Heroes are certainly heroes in my books. I have now used them 3 times for different problems. Yesterday they installed a new air conditioning system in my desert house. When I originally called them, determined that a new system was needed, the owner of the company, Greg Granger, came out to the house to discuss the replacement. When he realized that there was 1 month old baby in the house, he immediately offered to have two portable air conditioners brought to the house the next morning to use until the new system was delivered and installed. Everyone has been amazing. Even Greg was out on my job to make sure that everything was up to their high standards. I intend to continue using them for all of my needs in the future. read more

Great group of guys. My Ac malfunctioned and completely stopped working. Called around to other companies and finding out they wanted to change me over $100 an hour because of after hour charges, then I found A#1. They do not have after hour charges! Only ended up paying $59 to get the tech to my home (mind you it was 11pm). The guy arrived quickly and addressed my issue. Best part, he got my Ac up and running for $143 total (including the $59 mentioned above)!!!!! Best company I've done business with. Update: Just used them again but this time for a water leak under my kitchen sink. Robby came out and had it fixed in no time. He also did a courtesy check on the other lines throughout my home. Our air conditioning system went out on us in the middle of summer after several bids we decided to go with a1 the following day The technician who knocked on my door was Robert what a service hero my dogs loved him and he treated my little house with love using shoe covers drop cloths the whole nine yards!!! He worked non stop in the attic in record heat and finished in good time with a beautiful new compressor unit in the end he left the place better than it was!! Even fixing pre existing drywall damage to attic the system isvery quiet and it cut my electric bill in half this company rocks highly recommended for all your hvac needs!!!! Wow! What can I say.... By far the best ac and plumbing company I've dealt with. Called when I got home to find my house burning up on a hot summer day in the valley. Office staff was so friendly and got someone out to my home that evening. The technician showed up with a smile and ready to work attitude which is rare to see these days. Long story short he got my ac cooling quickly and while he was here I mentioned a plumbing issue I had and he called the office and had them schedule a plumber to my home for the following morning based on my schedule. We ordered new air conditioners from A1 service hero's. Not only was the price good but the service was amazing! The day of installation Kyle and Bryan arrived promptly in the morning. The were very nice and professional. It was a full day and into the night project that included using a crane for installation. Not only did they do an amazing job, they helped me and a friend load some furniture into her truck!! So over and beyond the scope of their job. They left everything cleaner than when they arrived. I called them at about 9am in the morning concerning a leak I had in a pipe joint on my manufactured home. An appointment was set up to come and take a look at 5pm. At 2pm I get a call from the receptionist that her boss said they do not work on the sewer systems. So if your toilet is backed up.....do not call them. If your sink is backed up ....do not call them. If your shower is backed up....do not call them because these are connected to the sewer and they don't do sewer work according to the boss. My opinion is they only want easy jobs. A1 is a joke. Service is a joke. and Heroes is a big joke. read more
