Had the company(Three Sons) out last year to replace a main line shutoff valve. That valve hadn't been touched for 19 years since the house was built. The 1 inch pipe union was painted shut by the HOA, and took a lot of strength to loosen. During the process, the tee going into the house received a substantial amount of tork. A few months later, that tee started to leak slowly. It has now begun to leak noticeably, and is corroding at the joint that was disturbed when the shutoff valve was replaced. A Three Sons tech came out this week, looked at the job and said it was normal wear for the copper pipe to just spring a leak over time. He said it was coincidence that it was leaking. and that it would be $230 to fix the leak. My wife and I have managed countless apartment building, condos and houses for more than 40 years. Some of those buildings were built in the 40s and 50s. We've done complete building retrofits as well as complete rebuilds. After a 10 minute conversation, the Tech Ryan became angry, and put his manager Mr. Levine on the phone. The manager told Ryan to test the water pressure that maybe that was the culprit for the leak. When they discovered the pressure was fine(60lbs). Ryan said are you going to pay or not. Needless to say I didn't and he left. Please beware of this company. From my experience, if they make a mistakes, they aren't likely to own up to it. It is disheartening that this kind of business practice (unethical) is allowed to continue. Glad there's sites like this one that allows a person to share their unpleasant experience. Lastly, also beware of their stellar 5.0 star ratings. The most i've ever seen in my life. I have a homeowners warranty (FAHW) and had a shower valve problem. They had sent out a plumber who said the issue could only be fixed by ripping a hole in the wall and replace the valve. I had had a recirculating hot water system added. The original plumber used the cheapest pump, failed to insulate the return pipe and installed the shut-off _after_ the pump. Zeke from 3 Sons removed the failing pump (only three years old), drained the system and then installed new shut-offs before and after the new (and much quieter) pump.
