It's been a while since I've had Grandy's. While in the area, I wanted my husband to try this restaurant from childhood memory. For some reason, it fell short. We ordered via drive thru. It was a long line that moved quickly. Our food just didn't seem freshly made. That was disappointing. read more

Haven't been to a Grandy's since I lived in Ft Myers many years ago. I loved their cinnamon rolls and fried chicken liver. I decided to give it a try and it was just as I remembered. So delicious! Chicken liver was fresh and fried perfectly. The cinnamon roll did not disappoint. Service was a bit slow but the food made up for it. read more

What a wonderful experience down memory lane. They don't have Grandy's in Florida anymore.... It's been decades... when I was a child, this was the place to go for Southern food with grandma. I ordered the chicken fried chicken that is like the country fried steak with gravy but it's chicken. It was very good. I ordered okra, mashed potatoes and also a side of black eyed peas. Wow.... I love love love the black eyed peas. They have ham in them and the flavor is definitely southern... delicious!!!!!! And the dessert.... The peach cobbler... SWEET is what my mother in law said ... super sweet for her... it's good too. If this place was back in Florida... I would be I here frequently... at least it's a nice drive from Central Florida to Brunswick, Georgia. The restaurant is clean and has country decorations. Plenty of room for the family and friends. I miss my grandma, but this place brought me good memories of lunch with her. GOD BLESS YOU GRAND'S !!!!!! read more

GRANDY'S NEEDS TO DO BETTER BY THEIR SENIORS. Grandy's is the only place in Glynn County that makes you wait till you're 65 to get the senior discount. (hell the US government only what makes you wait until you're 62)Then they make you carry one of their ID cards around to prove that you're a senior like we don't have enough stuff in our billfold as it is. They are closest competition (Pizza Inn) only requires you to be 60. I did the research on local businesses that offer some kind of senior discount. Below is a small list of businesses we frequent, or have frequented. Pizza Inn-60 (closest restaurant) Nicks Buffet-60 Wee-Nee Wagon-55 Sonny's-50 JB's Shrimp Shack-55 Old Time Country Buffet-60 The Hangout B&G-60 Applebees-60 Outback Steakhouse -50 Long Horn Steakhouse-55 Burger King-60 Mc Donald's-55 Subway-60 Captain D's-62 Chillis-55 Hardee's-60 DQ-55 Arby's-55 IHOP-55 Denny's-55 Waffle House-60 Metro Diner-60. Publix-60 Harris Teeter-60 Goodwill-60 Joann's-55 Kohls-60 Ross-55 Michaels-55 Walgreens-55 Grandy's-65 And only one on this list, makes you carry around an ID card. It's been a lot of years since I was here but the menu has not changed much. I got the 3 piece tenders with collards and black eyed peas. All of it was hot and delicious. The young lady in charge of the dining room was so pleasant and had a kind word and a smile for everyone. The tables were clean and the atmosphere was country with great plaques on the wall. Glad I stopped for old times sake. read more

I love Grandys ! I ordered the snack pack but the only downside sometimes they give you this small breast.

Since when does Grandy's fry their chicken in the same oil as fish. I personally don't want my chicken or fries to taste fishy. Do better Grandy's! read more

Great little place for Breakfast the buffet was good but it does not start until 7:00 am which was a little odd since they open at 6:00 am and some people have to go to work in the mornings and might like to try it but not able to read more

Biscuits and gravy to die for! Very cheap and affordable breakfast rates for the full fam. I would say that it is hit or miss on the bacon with sometimes it being very greasy and undercooked but on a good day it's very good. Very timely as well. Hotcakes are ass read more

Had two pick up orders put in at 1:04. Arrived at Grandy's at 1:10. We're not helped nor orders were pulled until we had to ask an employee where was the food. The tickets were just taped to an oven and not pulled yet. Order was not fulfilled till 1:40. read more

I really wanted to love this place because friends recommended it. We ordered the biscuits and gravy that they love, and pancakes with bacon. The biscuits were very good but the gravy just tasted like flour and black pepper. The pancakes aren't the worst we've ever had, but they're not great. They do give you a large serving of bacon, but it was undercooked--our fault for not asking for crispy. The syrup is Smuckers, which is kind of standard, but I was wishing they had maple syrup to make the mediocre pancakes better. They only serve whipped butter substitute, which cheaper than butter, and not what I look for in a good restaurant. They do serve half and half instead of "creamer," so they get points for that. The coffee is decent, but a little weak. We got the cinnamon rolls to go, and were disappointed in the flavor. All in all, this isn't a breakfast we're going to repeat. read more

I was hoping to be able to give them a 5 star review now thar they're in their new digs - but I've gotta stick with a 4 star. Customer service was stellar as always - but I was greatly underwhelmed by the chicken fried chicken (gravy on the side). I picked it up for my friend's mother and it looked like a chicken breast fillet from the grocery freezer section. It was that same filet they started using for their chicken sandwich. No sign of the crispy, craggy signature Grandy's hand breading. I was excited to see the new snack box offering - 1 piece of chicken or 1 order of nuggets with 1 side and a yeast roll. I ordered nuggets - omit the roll. My snack box was odd. They gave me lots of teeny tiny broken off ends so the batter-to-potato ratio wasn't there. Some of the nuggets were also just tiny fragments of fried batter. If you're getting the snack box, stick with individual chicken piece and coleslaw, peas or beans. I can't comment on cleanliness of interior because I visited the drive thru. There were about 17 cars ahead of me (they have a double drive thru), but the crew was very efficient and the wait time was minimal. I will definitely be back - but I will stick to my 10 piece nugget w/ fries meal. read more

Unsure of when they did their updates to the building, because it's been so long since I've been here. However the restaurant looks amazing!! Gone are the old green lamps! The new look is crisp and very beachy! The employees are all so friendly and helpful! I drive over 200 miles just to come here. This is a favorite childhood food memory so please keep up the good work! As always, you made the 3+hr trip worth it. read more

Great breakfast, quick service, affordable price. I was looking for a quick sit down breakfast and found it at Grandy's.

Good deal for price. Generous buffet. Clean restaurant. Just the kind of breakfast I was looking for. Tasty all you can eat

Can't go down 95 and not stop and get some of the best fried chicken around. We've been stopping here for over 15 years and somehow never left a review. From the chicken to the sides you can't go wrong with anything you choose on this menu. Make sure to also end your meal with a warm cinnamon roll for dessert! The employees are also always very kind and bring the food to your table when it's not too busy. read more

I have eaten here pretty much every time I pass through Brunswick. They serve food like a fast food restaurant but with dramatically better quality. They bring it out to you, and you don't need to tip. Just great. read more

deluxe breakfast biscuit w/ a side of hash browns hands down best around town. My kid had the pancakes, I wasn't a fan of they tasted stale. Service was slow, looked like they were prioritizing the drive through orders. Only when the line got long did someone stop what they were doing to take care of the us. No hold on, we'll be right with you, just blank stares in the lines direction. Probably would go back, just not if I'm limited for time. read more

We solely stopped here based on the long line through the drive-thru every morning! Their to-go breakfast is super affordable and quite good. My favorite item is the breakfast steak. The eggs were cooked well, but do need salt/pepper added for flavor. We never dined in as we had our dog with us, but enjoyed to-go breakfast several times. Their drive-thru is always popping, but the wait isn't bad at all (10 minutes tops). read more

Absolutely like the food here. However customer service today was awful. The food was cold still good. One person in the party asked for fresh fries and the cashier brought her out new fries and made a disrespectful comment. As he laid the fries on the table he said" the fries were fresh before, but I brought you some more out anyway" and walked away. I asked for a manager to let him know how I felt like he was disrespectful he brought the fries out and he could have kept the comment to himself. Well the manager replied did he actually verbally make the comment. SMH. Of course he did. Unbelievable!!!!!! read more

Once again I find myself having to review a kitchen I really like, they make the best chicken in the area, but on 4/16/24 we decided to try their catfish dinner. One was perfect, the other not so good, did not get what I ordered... one coleslaw and potato salad, it was hot and good, other coleslaw and fried okra, no okra, terrible fries, limp and no flavor, I hate fries, never order them ever... I watched the fellow that put together my order, he made one dinner, and it sat for 5 minutes waiting for the other fish to be cooked, so I received one meal hot fish the other just warm, how can an establishment do that... my dinner sat, boxed on the prep counter while the other was completed, one hot meal, the other just warm... I guess now I might have to watch more closely to how they put together my meal... 26.93 for a warm dinner and one hot!!! I am dissatisfied with this young man's ethics and work standards, does not seem professional at all, is this the standard of some establishments today? Grandys has been great of late, hope this is an isolated situation... read more

I tried their catfish for the first time and it was absolutely awesome but I'm super disappointed because I asked for rolls and I did not get any. I called in but they said that they didn't realize I wanted some. I don't know how you mistake that, since I verbally spoke of yeast rolls and needing butter for my rolls but, oh well, it is what it is... And if I pay $25 for a meal for two people I should not have to stop and look through all the bags to see if my stuff is correct because they should do it. That's what they're getting paid all this money for because I can go to a nicer restaurant and spend this much.... read more

Ahhh, time and history. As time passes, it is a wonderful thing to watch a business build on its heritage and delight its patrons as it listens to their input and becomes a local business of excellence, predictably satisfying. How sad it is when a restaurant that was a local institution begins drifting away from its customers' expectations. I first discovered Grandy's decades ago on a visit to my Dad's family's hometown, Brunswick. I was delighted with the local food at such a reasonable price. Georgia grown, Georgia harvested wild shrimp were delectable in all their iterations. Breakfast was a friendly gathering of people beginning their days with a cuppa Joe, fried eggs, creamy grits, hot yeasty biscuits, creamy hearty sausage gravy, flavorful not oversalted and overcooked tender country ham. The traditions are gone. Eggs only available scrambled and dry. "Hash brown" potatoes suspiciously resemble Arby's potato cakes. Biscuits are generic. No country ham. Sad, oh so sad. The glory of basic handmade food has departed Grandy read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots in all of Georgia. While it has a fast food breakfast feel to it, it lacks nothing in flavor and service. Everything on this menu is delicious and graciously priced. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted every time I went because I knew everything was so good. The buttered cinnamon rolls were to die for. read more

We are frequent eaters at Grandy's at this location. The last time we visited I requested mash potatoes and gravy but added that I would like extra gravy so that I had the same amount of gravy as mash potatoes. My mother had just gotten out of the hospital and needed it to be more liquid like. It wasn't a problem getting it the day before. After paying I looked at the receipt and it read mash potatoes/no gravy and a large gravy. The cost was $9 for this. I asked Anthony why he rang it up that way and he was very condescending, repeating over and over exactly what I said, that I wanted my gravy the same size as the potatoes and that they certainly sell the large size of gravy for $2.99. I reminded him that I ordered mash potatoes with extra gravy so why would you put in that I wanted mash potatoes with no gravy and then order a large gravy. He said if I didn't want the gravy that came with the mash potatoes it doesn't change the cost. It was very disappointing. There was never any inclination to allow for a misunderstanding on his part or mine and he was more argumentative than customer service minded. Seeing that I was getting now where, I told him I had paid for the mash potatoes with gravy so just give me the small one too. We definitely didn't need that much though. At this point, it was the principal of how he did it all. He put napkins in the bag and sent me on my way. I asked if the one piece of fish I ordered was in the bag and he realized he had not given it to me. It came in a box so I asked what all that was since I just ordered a piece of fish. He said it comes with hushpuppy and grits. Not sure if they don't sell just a piece of fish or not so I just took it. As we were walking out of the restaurant, he was repeating to the entire crew what I had said and how wrong I was. Very embarrassing. I would not return. I know this is a very loved restaurant so maybe some training might be in order so no one acts like Anthony did. I'm 67 years old and don't need to be treated like this. read more

I went thru the drive thru in Brunswick, GA. and ordered 6 cinnamon rolls. When I got home and took one for me and one for my wife to enjoy, we both remarked that these rolls did not taste as good as ones we have gotten many times in the past. They were not as moist and chewy and did not have the walnut pieces in them like they used to have. These had raisins but no walnuts! I wonder if these are the same as what they had in the past-these rolls were definitely sub-par, read more
