We used to have these back in Orlando, so getting one on St. Simons feels like a little throwback every time we visit. Hands down, these are the best subs I've ever had. The bread is always fresh, everything is piled high, and the flavor just hits every time. The Ultimate Sub is my go-to--it never disappoints. Loaded, perfectly balanced, and just flat-out delicious. The best gluten free subs I've ever had. Hands down. I had it twice while I was visiting. The bread is incredible. Worth it!

The service was quick and friendly. I got a roast beef sub, and it was kind of underwhelming. It was pretty small and the bread was boring--I was craving a French roll, but they don't do that. The roast beef was completely brown--some pink would have been nice. Also, not enough meat even for this small sandwich. And finally, the mayo tasted funny--kind of vinegary, maybe? Veteran owned business!!! Always see a line out of the door. Seems small inside but enough room for everyone to sit and chat and all of us goofy people in line. We needed food and fast and this was for surely the place. They had wings and salads and the most awesome and fresh subs! My iced tea was even yummy enough for me to go back for seconds. I Love Larry's. They were busy and parking was at a premium.The line was long and most were practicing social distancing. Inside they have tables along side wall and then an entire seating area on the other side of the wall. People weren't super friendly here, but took care of business. It took a little while to get my Jake's hoagie which is a Philly Cheesesteak with mushrooms, onions, mayo, and lettuce. I didnt specifically ask for the pickle spear on the side so they failed to give it to me. Bummer. While the food is normally excellent this time the chopped steak had a lot of gristle in it and it would hurt my teeth when I would bite down on it, not to mention it was a little gross. Normally the food is spot on and service is hit or miss. They do offer some sort of rewards program for frequent visitors so may be worth checking out. read more

Place is decent and been here foooreever, last time i was here was only one storefront but in the past 20 years its been open they bought the place next door and expanded to twice the size. Absolutely one of my go-to spots for lunch or even dinner. Think Firehouse subs quality, but on a much more local level. I most always go for one of their warm subs with roast beef and turkey with provolone. The toppings are fresh & plentiful, sammich comes out warm (if that's your preference) and is of a consistent quality and quantity time and time again. In there defense we came literally 10 mins to closing and they were kind enough to help us. I ordered salads so I shouldn't complain, but they weren't anything great. I am still really hungry actually.... not a lot of chicken, and I don't usually eat bread ( why I ordered a salad) but I ended up eating the pita bread that came with the salad. Gave this place a second chance and they failed again! Walked in and placed my order with the manger (didn't know at the time). He wasn't friendly, didn't ask questions about what and how I wanted my sandwich. After I told him what I wanted ( turkey with provolone and bacon) I mentioned I wanted my sandwich on the 12" Cuban bread and he actually rolled his eyes at me and coped an attitude. I seriously couldn't believe it, but just let it go as I didn't want my sandwich messed with. Once my sandwich was done an employee walked out from behind the counter and yelled "Sharon" ...not my name...so he walked past me swing the sandwich in a bag. It knocked against his calves about 3 times until he turned around and came back to where I was standing. Handed me the sandwich and walked away. When I opened my sandwich it was missing the bacon and was overloaded with lettuce to the point where I was left with a pile of lettuce...could probably make 3 more sandwiches with it. At this point since this place screwed up a second time I decided to call and let the manager know. I called and asked for the manager and the guy who took my order picked up. I confirmed it was the manager and he said yes. I explained to him this was my second time to this location and they messed up my sandwich again. No bacon and I also pointed out how rude he was by coping an attitude because I told him I wanted my sandwich on the 12" Cuban bread. He said did they get the bread right? I said yes, but the customer service blows my mind and I will never go back. He offered to make me another sandwich and I said no thank you! Your location sucks! read more

I can only give one star because you can't go lower! I ordered 60 wings for the big game. When I got home I never realized wings could be soooo small, they ready looked like they came off of pigeons. $70 bucks with tip, only wish I had looked at they before I left the store. But I was already late because the wings I ordered and paid for at 1:00 pm and ask for them or be ready at 6:00 pm I had to wait tIll about 6:20 to finally get them. Larry's suffers from the dilemma of great food with poor service. I've eaten at this location multiple times, and I have enjoyed my food for the most part. Their subs are very similar to those of Firehouse Subs, although they do offer wings and fries (I've never had either). The general atmosphere is about what you'd expect from a sub shop. Unfortunately, my most recent trip to Larry's will likely be my last. I asked for a sub that was clearly listed on the menu with its ingredients in the description. When I asked for it, the cashier (who stood with poor posture and had a generally sloppy appearance) was rude to me and got frustrated because he did not know what was on the sandwich. Normally, that would not make me too upset. However, he got so frustrated that he skipped me in line. Later, when I was enjoying my food with my family, he was working the fryer and speaking profanities. He made an uncomfortable environment for my family and me. We are hesitant to go back because we do not want to encounter the same poor service. Chick-fil-a is right down the road, so if you are looking for a restaurant where the employees respect the customers, you should probably choose chick-fil-a. read more

Pictures on menu are not what you actually get. The Caesar salad came with zero dressing and had almost no romaine. It only had sad looking iceberg that was wilted. The "giant" sub was actually smaller than a regular Publix sub. Truly disappointed, will not be going back. read more

Big fan of subs, here. Saw Larry's sign and checked out the reviews on Yelp. Seemed like a decent bet. I had the Destroyer, one of the Italian-style sandwiches. It was a really great sub! I don't have the best options here in Indiana for subs. Even though Larry's is a chain, at least they are making REAL subs. You just don't get that same love and authenticity from Subway, Jersey Mike's, Firehouse or even Jimmy Johns. I will say that the store itself looked disorganized. I'm not saying it was dirty, but I wouldn't be surprised if a health inspector has dinged them on cleanliness before. The staff was courteous during the transactions, but fairly aloof. There didn't seem to be any sense of pride in either the shop or the way they dressed. The sandwiches didn't take too long, but there was certainly no sense of urgency to provide efficient service. I would say this was an average sub place. As I love getting sandwiches wherever I go, I would say this falls in the middle. They do load your sandwich with lots of meat, which is nice. They made my sub quite fast, so I didn't have to wait too long to eat it. Why write a review of a fast food sub chain? Are reviews not meant for fine dining or mid range at least? Perhaps, but this little sub shop does such a fine job that both they and readers deserve a review. One must compare Larry's to SubWay and it's ilk of Firehouse, Jimmy John's, etc. Larry's is as good as it gets for a sub shop. What makes them good is the quality and quantity of meat. The bread is fine. The garnishings are fine. But the bottom line is a heaping pile of protein on a fine roll. Does anything more need to be said? Yes....blows Subway away - course this is not saying much. Is Larry's better than, say, Firehouse? No. Just different. The point is that Larrys' really is as good as a sub shop gets, chain or not. the employee with the eyebrow ring was so rude. she rushed my group to order immediately after we walked in after we asked for a moment to review the menu. she was very rude and even mispronounced a name that was spelled out to her. all of her remarks were standoffish and unwelcoming. i ordered a veggie sub and she scoffed at me and asked which veggies i wanted and i said the ones that come with it on the menu and she asked which ones those were. i told her i wanted all of them and she said really all? and rolled her eyes. overall poor service from her. read more
