I come here to wash large loads of laundry and blankets, and I like that there is staff who work here throughout the day and night. The staff are very nice and speak Spanish. They work very hard, cleaning constantly. They sell soap, dryer sheets, and other laundry supplies in case you forget yours, and they have 2 vending machines for snacks and drinks. They have places to sit inside and outside while you wait for your laundry, carts so you can move your laundry from one place to another, and countertops to fold. The only thing I don't enjoy is some of the other guests. My partner and I have had extremist religious folks approach us and harass us when we said no thank you or directly asked them to leave us alone. Bring headphones to ignore other people, but definitely watch your surroundings. read more

Big laundry mat with different sized washers for small, medium, and a little larger loads, and then huge dryers. The biggest washers (a 6 load) costs $8.18 per wash. The medium washer costs $5.96 per load, and the small washer costs $4.68 per load. The dryer costs 48 cents for 8 minutes. There are benches to sit at inside, and 2 outside, but you might end up sitting at the table/bench with a stranger or two because they are limited. There is a little store inside where you can buy detergent, dryer sheets, and more, in case you forget yours at home; note that they do close for their lunch time. The building is pretty clean and the washers smell clean inside. They have women who work here during the day sweeping the floors. In order to pay for the washes, you'll have to have cash or coins to load onto a prepaid card (you get that card here in store), then you use that card to pay for all your washing and drying. I did see 2 dogs in here while I was waiting for my laundry to be done; one was off leash and one was on a leash without the owner holding it. Overall pretty good experiences here; it is safe during the daytime. read more

Came here to do laundry. Probably spent 20 minutes at the atm machine. Took forever to load anything on the screen. Back and forth, tried several different cards. Finally got into an account, what felt like forever it just spit out a receipt and cancelled the transaction then displayed "system resetting". It's also incredibly hot in the building. read more

It's that time of year when family is visiting... and we have a lot of sheets to clean. The bulky stuff would take me a whole day if I did it at our place. I swing down here and knock it out in an hour or so. It's clean! They have a rep that cleans and takes care of the business' little shop where you can purchase laundry detergents/softeners. They have a card/chip that you re-fill with money instead of having to use quarters. You get a $3 bump if you re-fill your card with a $20. Overall great place to get laundry done. I've been coming to the Grande Landry place in Escondido off Broadway for ten years now. We always take our oversized loads there for the six load washers. They're perfect to fit a lot of large bulky blankets that our washer at home won't handle. The card is very convenient and they give you a 10% discount if you load $20 at a time. The place is always really clean too. Someone is always there cleaning the machines, floors, walls, tables, carts, everything. Even the vents on the ceiling are sparkling clean. They have the best staff working there. They're so helpful and kind. I've left expensive blankets in the dryer before and when I came back, they had taken them out, bagged them and kept them behind the counter to make sure they were kept safe until I came back. Other times when I've left things and come back sooner rather than later, they are always there. Plus they have free WiFi and a little outdoor patio with hopscotch for the kids and there's plenty of room to sit and wait comfortably for your laundry. They have vending machines with drinks and snacks and TV's. I mean what more could you ask for! I wish more businesses would operate at a high level like the Grande Laundry Place on Broadway does. Worse place ever! First there was no place to wash in. Then some guy just comes up and steals my basket the second i turn around to throw something away and then after that they turned my dryer off and tried blaming it on me when i had clearly seen it start drying! Ridiculous!! read more

My first time here. I googled a nearby laundromat and read the reviews and chose this location. I am very pleased with the customer service. Blanca, the attendant, was very helpful as I wasn't aware I had to buy a card. They also serve free coffee in the morning. I was only planning on coming here one time but after my first visit I had a very pleasant experience and I plan to come here on a weekly basis. Very clean machines and establishment! Found my new place to do laundry! Grande in Escondido is the TRUTH! The place closest to me is a dump so my girlfriend recommended we try one over this way since we were going to grab some food from Ali Baba (bomb food, btw). This place is BIG, CLEAN, and CHEAP (compared to other places)! Lots of machines and options, and it didn't ruin any of my clothes LOL. My one complaint was that their washers left my clothes pretty damp, I thought it was going to take forever to dry...then I realized it was only .09 cents to dry for 9 minutes on Thursday! For 4 relatively large loads, I think it cost me less than 15 bucks. They have staff on site to help, and the machines are clean. In my eyes, that's a WIN for a laundrymat. read more

For financial reasons I recently had to sell my awesome Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer set. Now I am about to enter into the world of laundromats - or coin laundry - appears to be the term these days Right out of the gate I'm already having problems. My first stop is to Grande Laundry. Apparently 10:20 is too late (they close at 11) to wash one small load of clothes, even though their website says most their washers run 25 minutes. "You see how all the washers are? They're off," said the attendant girl smugly. Fine, I don't want to buy a $5 card to only get $2 in credit anyway. Where does the other $3 go? Sounds like a hook or a con to me. She didn't even give me time to finish reading the signs. I'm sure she was in a hurry to get home and finish up her school work, cure cancer, or something else really important. Maybe my $3 goes towards her education. I will say though, it looked pretty nice inside during the 45 seconds I was in there. Lots of flatscreens. Apparently, they're suffering from a loss of electricity though because they looked to be all turned off. So technically yes, their last wash is at 1015... Which is fine. I didn't make it. I would have been done before 11pm though. If the little girl hadn't metaphorically slammed the door in my face, maybe we could have talked it out. Instead, I'm writing a review. Grande, close up for a day to school all your children in customer service skills. I'll go down the road to a hole in the wall coin laundry with dirty washers, no WiFi, no turned off TVs, and no b----s chasing me out. read more

The only thing this place has going for it is how clean it is, I will give it that. I should have realized from when I initially walked in that this wasn't going to be worth it for me. The poor instructions and details on how this place works makes it really confusing. So I started by following the instruction on the wall. "Insert money here" is pretty much what the machine on the wall says. So I inset 5 dollars (I'm literally doing 1 load of laundry!!!). The machine dispenses a Debit card looking thing. I think nothing of it and walk to my machine. I insert the card into my machine and it says I only have 2 dollars. So I walk to the front desk to talk to the young girl there to ask her what I did wrong. Her exact words were "es lieka menbershi" at this point I ask her for my money back. I figured it wasn't going to work. Worth a try. It didn't. The worst part of this place is that their prices are so off the wall. (Ex. To wash it cost 3.28) So with preloading a non refundable card, and it only giving you $2 of your original 5 and their 45 cents per 6 minutes of dryer time. I walked out of this place 15 dollars poorer. (Well technically my card still had $4.67, but I couldn't get my money back, so I ended up giving my card to a cute girl so she didn't have to buy a card) For 1 small load of laundry!!!! It literally would have been cheaper to take my stuff in to get washed for me . I guess if you're looking for a place to do laundry regularly it might be worth it. But for a 1 time user DO NOT EVEN TRY!!! read more

I have just returned from your facility on Broadway in Escondido. I was looking for a clean facility to wash several large bedspreads. Yours had a five star rating. The woman in the store who assisted was very kind. I was confused that the machine did not take coinage but instead I had to get a card and place my money on it in order to use the machines. The signage said you make a deposit of $3 for the card . I began the process by putting $5 into the machine and got in return $2 on the card. What? I thought I needed more than $12 to wash and dry and so I purchased another card the same way. It was not clear to me that I could use the first card over again to place additional sums on it for use. Now I had what I thought were six dollars lost and only $4 for use in the machines. WHY DON'T THEY SIMPLY SAY YOU MUST BUY A CARD AND PLACE ADDITIONAL SUMS ONTO THE CARD AS YOU USE IT? The young lady said that I could return the cards to the corporate office for refund within about 7-10 days by placing them in an envelope she provided and then return it to her. In the meantime, I continued to do my wash when the "VP of Sales" came into the laudramat handing out free cards for pizza. I told him of my conundrum and his answer was far worse than the loss of $6!! His first response was:"You speak English and couldn't read the sign, while these people all speak Spanish and they managed to understand!!." I was furious. The put down was a double insult to both myself and to the Spanish speaking patrons! He insisted that the sign was clear and that I should waslk over to it with him to read it together. This 6 foot plus, English speaking only, caucasion "business man" stood in his casual shorts and sport shirt looking down at me in contempt. I have spent more than thirty years in Customer Service. I hold a Masters in Science from Columbia University, I am keenly aware when someone is being belittling and denigrating. It was totally inappropriate response for the $7.42 that was in question. If this mentality is to be an example of the company's way of doing business, than my heart goes out to the hard working families that use this and associated facilities. In the end, "Dave, VP of Sales" said I should have gone to a coin operated facility (which he noted were in three other locations) if I didn't want to use these cards. He took the envelope with the cards in them and said in the end that he would take them to his boss and return the money. I left feeling that his world is a coarse and ignorant place , where narcissism reigns and many are hurt. read more
