Same architect as the University of Saint Francis' Bass Mansion and The History Center both in Fort Wayne. Robert served as a 2 time state senator, assistant U.S. Commissioner for Indiana, huge investor in natural gas, (the reason Fort Wayne & even Chicago got natural gas when they did) and was a prominent lawyer. Clara helped form the first classes at the Fort Wayne Art School and was the co-founder of the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. The couple was originally from the Muncie area but moved up here for business purposes. They were a very prominent couple during their years here in Fort Wayne. Not only did Clara leave her forever footsteps at the Art Museum, Robert's law firm is still going strong known as the Barrett-McNagny law firm serving the local area still today. They only had one child Bessie but unfortunately due to illness died at 11 months old. After Robert's death in 1901 the home was sold to William K. Noble who ran a lumber company that operated in 3 states. His family of 3 lived there for 22 years and sold the building for $50,000 to The Klaehn Funeral home. In 1935 the west side addition was added due to high demand. At this time funerals were no longer held in the residents home as they were done in the 1800s. Today there are over 14,000 square feet in this absolutely breathtaking mansion. No detail has gone unnoticed. It remained a funeral home for over 93 years. Until they left the building in 2018 and the Sturm's bought the building in 2020 to preserve its beauty. We want to preserve our precious history first and foremost. History is the reason why we are all here today! We are SOOO PASSIONATE about preserving and sharing this place with the world!" Every room ( and there are lots of them ) have original wood work, beautiful pocket doors. Chandeliers, staircase is beautiful, stained glass, big open spaces. Since this was a funeral home for nearly 100 years there are bits and pieces of that history still here too. The building had a great vibe inside and out. This review is for my daughters wedding and reception…read more Working with the Union 12 team was easy. They were professional and very helpful in setting up our event. The staff was responsive to calls and emails when we needed information, making decisions and ironing out the final details. Union 12 facility is not inexpensive. However we feel like they gave us a very good value and the ultimate experience was excellent. I could use a lot of words to describe their facility. I have attached pictures you can review along with their web sites. Overall the facility, grounds and bridal suite were in very good repair and attractively designed. The facility is very welcoming and allows your guests to feel comfortable quickly. The outside seating area is so what small but can easily handle 200+ people. The covering is nice to help protect against the weather. The chairs are comfortable. They gave a couple arches that you can choose from for a back drop. The bridal suite is nice. It's not overly spacious. It could be uncomfortable if you have much more than 7-8 bridesmaids. The lower level has a nice kitchen to make your day long preparation more comfortable. The kitchen isn't stocked with utensils so bring your own. The upstairs is meant for groomsmen to get ready. This area is rather small and somewhat uncomfortable due to the low ceilings and small rooms. The facility grounds are very nice and welcoming. The fire put, pond lawn areas and seating areas are nice. The outdoor lighting is very attractive especially at night. There is a decent amount of parking. The signage on the road is very poor. It is easy to drive right past the facility if you aren't careful. The inside the facility is wide open. The balcony is easy to access as there are two staircases. The balcony is close to the head table area for good viewing. The bar is compact but strategically located. It can get pretty crowded at the bar area as this is where the staircase comes out. On this occasion our buffet line was near the bar as well. The side room has a fair amount of seating. People in the far back corner don't have a very good view of the head table area. The dance floor was in good condition. If you have a lot of tables you will need to take down tables to make enough space to dance. The bar service is very good. They had ample help to move drinks for our 200 people. They provide water and lemonade self serve containers. We purchase the package that provided beer, wine and vodka. This turned out to be sufficient for most all people. The bar staff was very friendly and efficient. Union 12 provided us the a coordinator for the whole day. Olivia did an outstanding job helping us all day long to get everything in the perfect place and the right time. Olivia was outstanding at keeping things clean...even when the dancers got sloppy with their drinks. Well done Olivia!! Overall...our day was outstanding. The Fairfield is a beautiful venue with a gorgeous event space. The large windows provide plenty of…read morenatural light, and the room itself creates an elegant atmosphere that was perfect for the event. Unfortunately, the service did not match the quality of the venue. The venue coordinator was difficult to find throughout the evening and, when approached, was consistently unfriendly and came across as rude to guests. The bartenders remained behind the bar all night, even when an entire table of champagne glasses needed to be filled. Instead of assisting, guests had to carry all of the glasses to the bar themselves. On top of that, the drinks themselves were disappointing. The biggest issue was the venue's lack of staffing and service. This was an event with well over 100 guests, yet The Fairfield had only two bartenders and two additional staff members, one of whom was the venue coordinator. The outside caterer, who served an excellent dinner at 5:00 PM, actually had more staff on site than the venue. Table clearing was the responsibility of the venue staff, not the caterer, yet the venue didn't begin clearing tables until after 9:00 PM. By then, many guests had already cleared their own plates and trash in an effort to keep the room tidy. Even that became difficult because the trash cans had been overflowing for most of the evening. The venue also ran out of cake plates. When more were requested, the venue coordinator responded rudely, saying she would "see what she could do," despite the fact that fewer than 50 plates had been used at that point. Knowing the family hosting the event and having attended other events they've planned, I know they are incredibly organized and detail-oriented. I'm confident the event timeline, guest count, staffing expectations, and responsibilities were thoroughly discussed during the planning process. Based on what I witnessed, the shortcomings were not due to poor planning by the hosts but rather the venue's lack of preparation and execution. The Fairfield is a stunning venue, and it has so much potential. However, until customer service, staffing levels, and event management improve, I would have a hard time recommending it for larger events.

I would happily come back for bowling next time I'm in town. Cons: This place is LOUD. If you are sensitive to noise, bring your favorite ear-plugs. Don't bother with the tiny parking lot in front of the building unless you need an accessible space! Drive past it and follow the signs to the large gravel lot. It is a further walk but much less cramped and more likely to find a spot.

The bathrooms were easily accessible and clean. We had a company cater the food, and they had plenty of room as well as amenities in the kitchen. If you want music, they can hook you into the sound system, but it requires a regular jack, so you will need to bring the appropriate equipment for that. They offer drink services for a flat fee as well as coffee. Now, the only improvement I could think of is that they need a bigger sign or something that let's you know where to turn. We had several people who missed the turn. But that is a small issue. Overall I highly recommend using this place for your event.

We paid an additional $1,200 for Lindsey to coordinate our wedding day, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. From the beginning of the day, we felt rushed and like we were constantly being hurried through moments that we had spent years planning. We completely understand that there needs to be a timeline and that weddings need to stay on schedule, but there is a huge difference between keeping things organized and making the bride feel rushed on her wedding day. Lindsey was also extremely rude throughout the day, which made an already stressful situation even worse. When things went wrong, instead of handling the issues behind the scenes, she would come directly to the bride with the problems. The bride and groom should be the LAST people being bothered with problems on their wedding day. That's exactly what we paid a coordinator $1,200 to handle. Find someone else to take care of the issue and let the bride and groom enjoy the day they have spent so much time and money planning. We also barely saw Lindsey throughout the day. We didn't see her until approximately 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave the Homestead House to walk outside for the ceremony, and guests were still entering the ceremony building at the same time. This resulted in multiple guests seeing the bride before the ceremony. Lindsey and her staff were all wearing headsets, so there really should have been enough communication to prevent something like this from happening.The overall feeling of the day was that we were being rushed rather than taken care of. We had waited years for this day, and instead of feeling relaxed and enjoying the moments we had planned, we were constantly worried about the timeline and what was happening next. That's not how we expected our $1,200 day-of coordination experience to feel. The music restrictions were also something future couples should know about. Explicit music is not allowed, and many of the songs we requested were shut down because of language. We understand venues have rules, but if you're wanting a fun, high-energy reception with current music, definitely ask about this beforehand because it can really affect the atmosphere. The Wedding Book they require couples to fill out also felt like a waste of time for us, as much of the information we spent time providing did not seem to actually be utilized on the wedding day. We also had a disappointing experience with the bartenders and the way they treated members of our bridal party. The bridal party should absolutely feel welcomed and appreciated on a wedding day, but unfortunately, some of our interactions with the bartenders were unnecessarily rude and left a really bad impression. When you are paying a venue a significant amount of money for your wedding, you should not have members of your wedding party feeling uncomfortable or unwelcome while simply trying to enjoy the celebration. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I am choosing to post this anonymously because we would like to protect our identities for personal reasons. Our intention is not to create drama or attack anyone personally. We simply want to share our honest experience because we believe future couples deserve to know what we wish we had known before booking. At the end of the day, we spent over $15,000 on our wedding at this venue, and for that amount of money, our special day should have felt completely different. We should have felt celebrated, supported, and taken care of -- not rushed, stressed, or like we were an inconvenience. We've been to a ton and this ballpark holds its own, even compared to AA and AAA ballparks. The Parkview team does a tremendous job with the friendly entertainment, excellent service, great food and drink options, and an overall enjoyable MiLB venue... From Thirsty Thursdays to Friday and Saturday night games, Parkview Field offers something for everyone. If you're coming through FW, Parkview Field is a must stop.

I imagine when it gets hot out, you just cook like their delicious hot dogs in that sun! (The hot dogs were really good!) They also offer a kids zone that you have to pay for and it's nothing too great. Bunch of blow up things to jump on and slide down. Beer garden is no garden. It's just a building in the outfield dead center that serves beer and backs up to the hotels. Will say, dang good beer selection. Yuengling and some Michigan brews too! It's a very comfy little stadium downtown. So much going on it can be hard to follow the game though. And, their food lines are atrocious! Takes FOREVER to get anything of substance food- wise. Two innings or more for a hotdog. Overall it was enjoyable and I'd make it a point to take in a game if headed that way in the country.

Even the area where you suit up with your laser gun and watch a movie about the rules of the game is cool. I played two games back to back, and both games had at least 20 to 30 people. The arena is so huge that even that number of people seemed like a small amount. Beyond laser tag, there's also an arcade with lots of video games, skee ball, dance games and other things to do. It's very dark inside Lazer X, but your eyes quickly adjust. When it comes time to leave Lazer X, though, you're in for a rude awakening: It's hella bright outside! Agh! But assaulted pupils are a small price to pay for a good time here.
