This review is for the Super Suite experience. We were invited to an event at the Super Suite during a hockey game. Finding the way to will call was easy. The team was very friendly and helpful to get is pointed in the correction. The trip up the elevator to the third floor was uneventful. The Super Suite holds about 80 people inside and 50 seats in the arena. The place was clean and organized and in good repair. The staff in the room and bar were very welcoming and customer focused. They did a good job and refilling food, running the bar and cleaning. The seating in the arena gave you an end zone view of the rink. The seats were comfortable but spaced close together. No cup holders and not much leg room. Here is a run down of the food our guest ordered: -Vegetable tray: all very fresh, good variety, smooth ranch dressing -Salad: fresh lettuce pieces, I think it was bathed in a light covering of French dressing, possibly a little soupy - probably needed to be tossed often; otherwise not bad -White Mac & Cheese: noodles cooked perfectly, mostly creamy, not a very strong cheese taste; felt it really needed a dose of black pepper to give it some more taste and kick -Pulled pork: very moist and tender, BBQ sauce was very mild on BBQ taste and thin. Nicely done! -Brisket: mostly moist and tender - depends on the piece you got. Meat was cut somewhat thin so some pieces were tough while others were very good. The BBQ sauce was sweet and slightly tangy - no kick. Pretty good job here! -Chips: come from the Broad Ripple chip company; very crispy, slightly oily, light on salt, pretty tasty -Cookies: made locally, chocolate chip was the only choice, chewy not crispy, nice flavor but not outstanding Overall a nice experience. I've been to the ACMC many times over years, so I felt like a review was due... Overall, it's a decent place to catch a venue, but desperately needs to be updated... The Komets are entertaining and they bring some good music to town, but it's very sporadic. I saw Incubus back in college, we saw Shinedown here a few years ago, Journey is coming to town this summer, and we just saw Three Days Grace last night. The problem with ACMC (imho) is lack of consistency for good venues, the place is like an old dungeon that's in dire need of a modern-feel facelift, the seats are so tiny and uncomfortable, and the food & drink selection/options are below average (at best)... Had to post a review just to say.. scope the seats out if you can. Had a group in section 221 and 225 in the back right and every seat had no leg room. I'm a short dude and my wife is five foot rounding up. But her knees were touching the seat back in front. My shins were rolling against em. I felt for the tall dude next to me and in Front had to spread eagle or sit sideways. - 2 stars for the seating. Everything else was fine or great. Ample parking $8 regular $12 preferred. Rows of accessible handicapped wheelchair blue spots too. There you go. Look for better seats and enjoy yourself. read more

Here Today! Who charters a 56 passenger luxury motorcoach to go shopping? Fans of Vera Bradley, that's who! There's Dooney & Bourke (my personal favorite), Louis Vuitton, Prada, Versace ect and there's Vera Bradley! When I saw my trip ticket with Vera Bradley's name attached, I thought she was the person that charted the bus. We arrived at the coliseum and I'm still clueless. I could hear my passengers excitement... I'm still clueless. I asked the two ladies sitting up front, "Who is Vera Bradley?" All I heard was silence then gasps. One of them said "Yoouuuu don't know who Vera Bradley is?" AND they BOTH gave me a stank look as they rolled their eyes at me. The 2 women then jumped up and said "Right here would be fine." meaning they wanted to disembark the bus right there. I'm usually the first person off the bus so I can help them off if need be, but baebaaaa, those women didn't pay me no mind as I waited to get off the bus. They damn near knocked me back into my seat. Normally, someone will announce what time and where the bus will meet them....but not this time, they hurried into the colosseum. Usually, the bus leader would give me a ticket this time it was sat on the dash. Ok thennnn. So I go in and the shock of it all, see my pictures is what I saw. Women everywhere! Organize chaos! A nice host gave me a shopping bag AND map. Women, dragging bags of loot, holding 2 and 3 shopping bags! Wow! So as not to look outta place....shoots (Me too movement). I had to contain myself as "Me too." Started my shopping spree! I needed and purchased another large suite case, make up bag and toiletry bag. It was Vera Bradley simi-annual sale! As I'm walking around, one of my passengers asked me "I bet you know who Vera Bradley is now," as she hurried on lol...I don't be making these things up yall! I respected EVERYTHING was very organized! They had price scanners, people who immediately restocked and removed any misplaced items, the checkout lines moved fast, there was separate checkout lines for women that came alone, WE really appreciated the thoughtfulness that Vera put into the sale. I received 10% off due to being ONE of the bus drivers that brought in a load of shoppers. Here Today. There tomorrow! read more

This is a great location to see a concert/event! The parking is easy (I believe we paid $12 for the premium parking), and the entry process was seamless. There is a nice bar/restaurant located upstairs that most people aren't aware of so it's easy to get some drinks/eats before an event. The prices are high - but consistent with other venues. read more

I recall, as a kid, laying on the floor in front of the 1980s cabinet stereo in our Utah living room and listening to Salt Lake Golden Eagles road games against their rival Fort Wayne Komets, and imagining the layout as the radio announcer described the fabled Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Well, my beloved Golden Eagles are long since gone, and the wrecking ball took down the old Salt Palace years ago, but Fort Wayne's War Memorial Coliseum still stands proudly and the Komets keep racking up seasons nearly 40 years since I first saw a Komets team play back in the 80s, and I finally got the chance to pay the Komets' old arena a visit. Though on a smaller scale, upon entering the arena I was somewhat reminded of the Detroit Red Wings' storied Joe Louis Arena, as the Coliseum has similar narrow concourses, a limited number of food vendors, and a kiosk style souvenir stand--the arena is simply too small for a team store. That said, there was a huge variety of Komets' gear available, and as a puck collector I appreciated the super-reasonable prices. However, the kiosk-style stand means you will likely be in for a wait if you are attempting to try on and/or purchase Komets' swag between periods. Inside the arena, the seating rows are very narrow, which is quite typical of older hockey barns, and thus you have very little leg room (a traveling companion had to sit on the row across from us so he could stretch out his surgically repaired knee into the aisle (which he did not need to do the night prior when we visited the ultimate modern hockey cathedral, Little Caesars Arena in Detroit). I would strongly suggest NOT sitting on the glass or in the single digit rows if you are on the sides of the ice (meaning, not seated behind either goaltender) as the sight lines into the corners were especially poor. Save some cash and pick a lower bowl double digit row--you'll see more of the on-ice action and be able to afford some extra Komets' paraphernalia. Overall, I loved the experience I had at the War Memorial Coliseum, though admittedly I'm an old school, nostalgic hockey guy. If you've never been, it is totally worth a visit to this historic arena built back in 1952 to see the Komets (who themselves are one of the top ten oldest tenured North American professional hockey teams playing under one name in the same city--only the NHL's original 6 and the Hershey Bears can claim a longer lived single-city lifespan). Landmark review As a convention center, this place is relatively painless for parking and offers ample space for events. I am surprised by the multi functional space as I have been here for numerous events. For a work meeting, I would say the 2nd floor convention space is a bit on the dreary side, but this is made up for by the wonderful friendly staff and the food they catered was good as well. I also have been here for the home and garden show + disney on ice all on the same day. Parking is only 6 dollars in the main lot and 10 dollar in the preferred lot. It is cash only and for single entry which is disappointing. The actual convention halls are quite large and you never feel cramped. There is plenty of seating around in the outside hallway if you are tired of walking around. The actual sport arena area is multi function and get turn into a basketball court or the night we were there a ice skating rink. To be honest, there are really no bad seats in the house. Overall I am impressed and will be back for other events as well Hidden deal: Buy tickets at the box office, no service fee for tickets online. The only tip about this is be aware of what range of tickets you want as they don't let you pick seats like they do online. We accidentally got the cheapest tickets for disney on ice even though that is not what we wanted. read more

Was here for an event over the weekend. I can't say enough good things about the place. It is huge and has plenty of space to host multiple events at the same time (think along the lines of the Columbus Convention Center). Staff was friendly always made sure to scan our tickets when leaving the area so we could get back in vs using a hand stamp or wristband. Parking is $6 with no in & out privileges. If you're there all day and want to check out different food options or check into your hotel you have to pay to park again. read more

We were so excited to see Paul McCartney yesterday June 3,2019. All of the tv and radio stations we saying get there early traffic and extra security will take longer. So we skipped dinner out and opted for dinner here. Mistake, big mistake! Of course getting a seat inside or out was impossible. Getting drinks and food even harder! As we watched wait staff walked past our table we shared with a couple who would need assistance getting around and needing food to take medications. L My husband and I decided to divide and conquer. I would wait in the line at the bar he would try and flag down wait staff. He won! Ordered food. Nachos and a burger. We watched food being walked around the restaurant with no idea where it should go. Really was this the first time for everyone here? I guess 45 minutes wait after ordering was great, but the couple with us really needed food. They waited another 15 to 20 minutes. I felt embarrassed to eat but, the time was ticking by, and the concert was getting ready to start! Such a huge disappointment! One of the biggest shows the coliseum has ever had. It could have been a huge money maker and a chance to show off the wonderful venue and the city of Fort Wayne. read more

I was here for a roller derby game against the local team, Fort Wayne Derby Girls. I was impressed with the size of the coliseum as they had multiple expo halls (as I accidentally walked into the wrong one). Because of the size it was a little confusing where to go and enter the building. My group had to go through a special door and it's not a common door for people to go through. Boy I wished I wasn't so directionally challenged. I'm sure they could have any type of event in the Fort Wayne area. The expo hall we were in was nice as it has a big set chairs on one side of the track, and big tables for the behind the scenes and stats people, a projected screen of the track, and plenty of crazy lights. It was quite a show. At the end of our game I went to get a beer, and unfortunately the selection was bare to none. For beer it was domestic taps and tall boys of PBR for $6...yikes! They could make you some basic cocktails and I believe they had a couple of wines to. Not that bad, but this beer lover wanted to try something local. read more

This place is very rude in the fact that they charge $3.50 for a cup and a lid. My son has Down syndrome and has to use a straw. Bought him a bottle of water then had to proceed to tell the lady that he cannot use them like the rest of us. Had to pay $3.50 for an empty cup. Absolutely ridiculous. Will only come back if we eat prior. Totally lost my money from now on. Not very friendly. read more

I have been to many concerts and events here. Always a great experience. We have our business events exclusively here this year. Parking is always easy to use. Staff makes things seamless. The food is always top notch whether it is for a concert or if it is for a business event. Kudos! I have also had great experience when purchasing tickets through a vendor or at the coliseum. The security is present but not an annoyance. It is amazing to see how they can adapt to extremely large events all the way down to a small company meeting. read more

Built in 1952, the Coliseum provides ample opportunities to bring in big time events to a small city. Ft. Wayne lost their NBA team (the Zollner Piston's) to Detroit in 1957, but sports, music and show events are held here almost daily, with many days hosting 2 or 3 events! The Komets (FW's hockey team) has called this place home since 1952! Oh, and we watched in 2001 as the roof was raised almost 42 feet...that was pretty cool. $4 parking does seem a bit expensive for Fort Wayne, but compared to bigger cities, it is probably in-line. Love the eternal flame set out in front of the stadium...too bad people don't see it enough though, as the main entrances are in the back. read more

So the Coliseum has many of my teens and early 20's wrapped up in it. So many concerts use to pass thru there, but unfortunately, these days to me, it seems the concerts are few and far between. Maybe I got older and just am not realizing, but it seems that when they added seats to it, the big bands sort of dropped off the map. Not that there still aren't bands coming thru but back in the day, man there would be a good one to go to every month or so. As far as hosting sports, they are on top of it! Been watching Komet minor league hockey there for years and as of recently they expanded their food selections. So there's much more variety to choose from while at a sporting event. The Mad Ants play there too. Semi-pro basketball, although I don't go to those games, it would be no different experience than a hockey game, other than what you're watching. The expo centers are great for all the events they host. My family and I are heading to the home and garden show this weekend. I've been to the RV show and boat shows in the past. All events like that are great to see what is going on in that particular market. Heck, I even had my college graduation on the floor of the Coliseum, so I do have some personal connections to the place. Even had a few company all employee meetings there too!!! It's been a great place for me to enjoy myself at for the past 15 years, and it's been around much longer than that and I'm sure it will be around for decades to come! read more

Went for the NCAA Hockey Regionals this weekend. Not a bad place to watch a game. Parking was super close and easy, but they charged $8...seemed a little high for Fort Wayne. Our seats were great, and I was VERY happy that I actually had some leg room. My 35" inseam thanks you Coliseum. The food sucked. Popcorn was out of a bag and cold. No beer. F that. read more

Great place 2 watch Komets hockey & concerts, wish they allowed cowbells! Things are not cheap here so eat before you come.

I recently visited during the Vera Bradley Outlet Sale. I love how they run this event. First, there's staff on hand to escort our bus driver = awesome! Second, there's a new, secondary entrance especially for bus groups. No more windy hallways. It's big, open, and so nice. Big, clean bathrooms, lovely event space, and lots of parking. Also, the whole place smelled like candied nuts. Yum! read more

3 cheers for a well-prepared venue. My wife and I attended the Alabama concert here and had a fantastic time. The worst thing about this was the awful traffic that we encountered trying to get here. It's a good thing that we allowed extra time, because we sure needed it and still managed to get to our seats before the concert began. We were also pleased that not only did we get to see "Alabama", but that "Restless Hearts" opened the concert. Everything was super and the concert lasted late, which was a special bonus for us. Then, naturally we had to sit bumper to bumper to get out on those streets, as one lane on both sides of Coliseum Drive was closed. And even though the 5 PM Friday traffic had gone, it was still a circus getting out. However, these things are not the fault of the Coliseum, and roads do have to be maintained, so then doesn't affect my rating. In the past, I have also attended some conferences in this building and they have all been superb, so my rating is a 5-star. Keep up the good work. read more

I've attended events here since the 1980's so nostalgia aside, this is a solid three star establishment. I prefer every Indy establishment that has existed since the 80's to now for quality and comfort. There are two different caliber of venues and events. If you don't like to travel then the sports, concerts, and events that fill the Coliseum schedule are what you'll take. And with no competition within less than a two to three hour drive minimum there is no reason this place will change to enhance the customer experience. Uncomfortable and very tightly spaced rigid seating, rowdy crowds, security that ignores that and you, standard offerings for food and beverage at the usual high price, bathrooms that can't be called clean, nothing that stands out as a reason to come unless you're a huge fan of the hockey, auto racing, musicians, or whatever is on the agenda. The Coliseum is now as I remember it to be from decades ago - an A-OK venue where everything is average. You won't ooh and ahh about the facility but it's a place to host that thing you like! read more

Saw the Rob Zombie/Disturbed Concert here last night, and was a killer show all the way around. The staff was a class act, well organized overall, though it was a bit of a mess trying to get out of the parking lot after the show ended. I had not been to an event at the FW Coliseum in many years but it's as if time stood still....not much has been updated/changed. We attended the exciting IU vs IPFW basketball game with a sold-out crowd. The game was fun (surprising to see how IPFW can stand up to the Big 10 and create the upset!) My beef is with the parking situation and trying to leave the crazy parking lot! GEESH!! Maybe hire some police officers to direct traffic, because it was like a demolition derby trying to get out of there! If our driver had not been a bit aggressive we'd still be politely waiting our turn to exit. People were almost broadsiding us cutting us off, others drove 50mph, no holds barred until they had to slam on their brakes, intimidating those in line. CMON FW Coliseum Management!! Manage the safety of your patrons in the parking lots! read more

This is a great place to see a roller derby bout! Ample seating and suicide seats, nice screen projecting the action, good sound system, clean bathrooms, PBR on tap--what else do you need? The lobby, ticket booths and hallways are unbelievably unattractive--they kind of reminded me of the uninspired architecture and design characterizing my high school. However, the stadium where the bout was held was perfect for a night of hot derby action! read more

Can't remember the last time a band worth seeing played here. Other than merchant shows and hockey, this venue brings nothing to the table.

We have visited the Coliseum several times for Komets games over the past few years. It's a great venue for hockey. There is a wide variety of concessions available, including adult beverages. I'm giving it three stars though for two reasons: The seating is just pain uncomfortable to sit in for a 2-3 hour time period. They are narrow, width and depth. If you're tall, you are warned! If you have a wide frame, consider yourself notified! No place to sit your drink down either. For the staff (ushers and security) they are usually friendly and helpful, but at the sign of trouble don't expect them to react too fast. At our last event an argument amongst drunken fans of opposing teams almost became a fight; the security staff took their time responding. read more
