This was our first time in Wrightwood and stayed at Grand Pine Cabins. Im only giving them a 4 because of parking. I hope they create an assigned parking for those staying because we had to park in the front when there was no parking by our cabin. We had rented the Deluxe family fireplace. The cabins beautiful and homey. Shower is pretty tight and small. My children loved the arcade game that was in their room. Spent so much time playing which was awesome. Overall we had a great time! Also, check in and check out was easy.

Dirty blanket that had dirt, wood chips, and mysterious bits

So disappointed with the rooms and service at Grand Pine Cabins. Would not recommend. Service: checked in without any issues; however, expect ZERO service, assistance, or response from about 7pm until 10am. Initial request for additional towels at 415, received response at 715pm stating that they missed us and to pick them up at from desk before 8pm but we were out and unable to grab. Disappointing. Came back to our room at night to see dirty furniture with unsightly stains but worse dirty linen on our bunk bed. Went to front desk and they were closed and told to call a number, it was their general automated line that does not have a live agent. Tried to text other number listed for after hours and no response. Tried multiple times to both to no response until 1015am the next day. We requested a call from their team multiple times and finally had their on site manager tell us their cancellation/refund policy states 14 days prior to arrival would qualify despite basic needs not being met. We also received charges for mini bar and drinks that were not consumed but they stated that would at least be corrected and will have to check on that later. Safety would be a major concern considering NONE of the listed after hours numbers were manned by anyone. Considering the state of the room and the bathroom showers, I would be concerned of things such as a plumbing issue, or worse than having no assistance until the following late morning. Rooms: furniture had multiple visible stains and as mentioned dirty linen. I didn't even unfold the blanket in its entirety as wood chips and dirt were falling out of it. Cleanliness was not a priority. Shower handles were visibly broken and needed repairs. Reading another recent review two weeks ago, it seems that dirty sheets are a common factor at this facility. Wish I would've seen it prior to our reservation. Overall, the only positive was the location as everything was walkable. The place has potential however, it was disappointing for a room to be $400+ a night and was far below basic standards. Would not recommend until they have better cleaning protocols and most importantly, customer service available, especially in case of emergencies.

    My view

The place is beautiful, it was calm and relaxing. Service was great. I loved that I could just walk over to the restaurants. My favorite was their shops. For those that love cats right across is an Arcade and you can adopt or pay to play with the cats. The water in showers is freezing cold, it take a minute to get hot but I had the unfortunate luck to run out of hot water 2 times.

Front of property. Each door is a different unit. Ours was #10 and on opposite corner, but great for parking.

I stayed here on 12/27/21. Pros: Our room #10 was clean, updated and modern. With only a king bed and bathroom, but will a mini bar, microwave and mini fridge it was accommodating. Our heater worked great. Parking for our unit was extremely convenient and we loved that. Cozy, warm and only connected to one other unit. Location was great and walking distance to restaurants and park across the street. Con: I paid $550 for one night which I thought was ridiculous for size and type of city. Would have given it 5 stars but again the price was ridiculous for room size, check in time is very late (4:00pm) and room wasn't ready upon check in time so we had to stay in parked car with heater with a child for almost an hour.

Very windy outside, so the gap let in a cold draft.

I appreciated the fact that this place is very convenient to downtown Wrightwood, and fairly close to Mtn High. Our door didn't fully close and let in a cold draft. It was also difficult to get a hold of someone as no one ever picked up the phone.

The mountain is a very short ride away. This picture was from a previous stay.

If you are looking for a place in Wrightwood, definitely check out Grand Pines Cabins! I always get top-notch service from Gilbert and staff; they are amazing! Rooms are clean, well stocked with snacks and drinks, excellent Internet and television/streaming entertainment. Close proximity to mountain slopes, but right in the heart of town and everything is walkable. Wonderful accommodations.

No latch. Only code entry lock. Not safe.

Lovely cabin and wonderful super helpful customer service (Cathy?) she was great. Answered all and any questions with ease. Lovely girl. BUT ONE HUGE RED FLAG. I've stayed at a handful of cabins and hotels. Never have i come across one with a security code type door entry, but on the inside no latch for the guest to lock out others from coming inside even with a code. You should be able to latch and lock the door from the inside out. We tested it and locked the Door from the inside and had some one type the code in from the outside and it unlatched the lock. It doesn't matter if it's an employee who can have a code or a previous tenant. There should be a latch or bolt from the inside that you cannot unlock from the outside. This needs to be addressed immediately!!! Huge safety concern. Other than that this place is fantastic!! The room is wonderful including the bathroom!! Love the bath tub in the king size room. One of the best cabins I've stayed at minus the fact anyone could walk in here with the code....Currently spending the night. Will check in tomorrow if no cabin in the woods stuff happens

I am not even sure how we found this place? Diamond in the rough for sure. The beds were so comfortable. The room A/C blows popsicles so we were kept cool. Decor was chic and cute. The location was great! Plenty of hiking in the area. We did Mt. Baden Powell and Big Horn mine. The managers were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

We had a very nice pleasant stay at Grand Pine Cabins. We vacationed there for the Memorial Day Weekend it was very peaceful and Quiet. Prime location right next to all the Shops, restaurants and Market. Room includes microwave, mini bar, small fridge, coffee maker, A/C and Heat. Also our room had a Galaga Arcade game. Gilbert was very attentive and answered all our questions and reachable by text.

Gilbert is an absolute dream to work with. He's so hospitable and gracious. He put together a package that suited our group to the T & took the time to tour us around the grounds. He also networked us with activities such as onsite massage and yoga!! This beautifully, newly renovated property is so well put-together, classy and designed well with comfort and easy luxury in mind.

This place is a cozy, quaint, well kept, clean and restful charming little gem of a motel/cabins. We booked through Expedia and had a lovely stay there last night. I always love to write nice things about a place I enjoy and this is a clear case of that. Alissa was our host and was apologetic for the no ice rule during the pandemic but that was totally ok. We loved the bathroom fixtures and the nice touches throughout the room. I heartily recommend those accommodations, I will certainly be calling them to stay again!

You have to close the door in order to get to the sink and finding a toilet flush wasn't easy

Truly a home away from home experience!!!…read more I needed to get away from LA for a few days to clear my head, and Mt. High Beds provided the perfect place for me to unwind. I was amazed by how beautiful and tranquil Wrightwood is, and by how much this house felt like "home" while I was there. The owners know the area really well, and are a wealth of information. They are also very interesting and fun to hang out with, especially if you're going up there by yourself, like I did. All in all, my stay at Mt. High was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be back! Oh, I should also mention that my bed was VERY comfortable, the house feels warm and cozy like a cabin in the woods should, and it is very quiet up there. Also, there is a deck with a bench swing where I could sit, have tea, and meditate. Honestly, I don't know what more anyone can ask for.

I njoy my snow-board and not in the mood to drive up to Big Bear (and spend twice the money on gas, food etc) - so Wrightwood is my all time fav spot when it snows. Oh I also figured out over the years that when it rains in LA it snows in Wrightwood. It's not "scientifically accurate" but that's just what I noticed. Anyways, I just got myself a cool fast two seater so now I have an excuse to get out of LA traffic any chance I get... so I ended up in Wrightwood since Hwy 2 is right there (awesome drive, curves etc). So I decided to spend the night and drive some more the next day... well, since I stayed here before in the winter, and had a great experience, I figured I'll give them a shot and see if they accept guests in the summer time... well, i was welcomes (once again) in open arms with a friendly smile. Same warm home even without the snow outside - KOOL. I had a great local pizza for dinner and a great night of sleep, allowing me to hit the road in the AM and cruise. Now that I have the roadster for summer time, I know I'll be back for more visits both summer and winter. I also know where I can stay all year long! Very clean, organized and friendly home. Great value - can't beat that (not even close). Oh, on a side note, I arrived to Wrightwood on Friday PM (after work) and found that there is a really cool Farmers Market in town. Worth checking out as well. Oh, another side note, I noticed Highway Patrol hiding on Hwy 2 in the section between the 138 and Wrightwood, so keep it slow in that section ;-)

PRC is a cluster of themed cabins on beautiful grounds. There's a man-made creek that runs through the property that I'm guessing runs even during the summer months. They also have a really nice event / wedding venue on the property. We stayed in the Little House on the Pond cabin which shared a small man-made pond with 3 other cabins. (Side note: Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins isn't in Lake Arrowhead proper but about a 20 minute drive east on the 189 in the small township of Twin Peaks - which is a nice mountain town but it's a bit of a drive away from Lake Arrowhead) These cabins are really cute. They are rustic yet comfortable - the sofa & chairs are comfy but I wish the sofa was deeper. There are 2 full size beds in the 2 upstairs bedrooms and the beds are super comfy! The one we slept in had a down mattress pad which really upped the comfort. There was also a nice comforter. On the downside, I am tall and I barely fit lengthwise. My feet were on the bottom rail and my head was up against the headboard. Ample parking: our cabin had its own small driveway to park in. The party lights on the deck were really nice for sitting outside on the Adirondack chairs at night. It was also really nice to build a fire in the fireplace on a crisp night. We had a lantern with a dead battery and the maintenance guy came very fast to replace it. There are lots of dishes and cookware to make snacks & meals and they have lots of things you can check out from the office like smore sticks, french presses, orange juicer, veggie steamer, charcoal BBQ, chop sticks and much, much more. On the downside: One of the big reasons we got this cabin was to have a fireplace...and they charge you $10 for a bundle of wood, which is annoying considering how much we paid to stay here (including an $80 resort fee - that doesn't include a bundle of firewood!!?) Tip: We picked up a fire bundle at Grocery Outlet for $6 that was significantly bigger than the one they had sitting by our fireplace for sale. The other big reason we got this particular cabin (Little House on the Pond) was for the big claw tub and it was very disappointing! First of all, you want a claw tub so you can relax & soak in a deep tub, and this tub is not deep enough to stay submerged. When I filled it up and got in, the water drained out the overflow drain until the water that remained in the tub left me half out of the water. You really want to soak in these things and you better do it quick here! (Note: We mentioned this when we checked out and he said they would look into getting a water level extender to put over the drain or something) Also, their hot water heater isn't big enough to last till this tub is full enough to get in. It ran cold after a while and I had to stop filling and let the hot water build back up and do that a few times to have a reasonably warm full bath. The stairs in this cabin are a neck breaker (very steep), almost like a ladder. The bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. This could potentially be dangerous going to the bathroom in the middle of the night (or for anyone who has a challenge walking). They should at least put in some nightlights on the stairs so you can see them when it is dark. On the admin side, you have to wash all your dishes and take out your own garbage or be charged a $60 fee. I have never (even at lower priced hotels) been told to wash my own dishes and take out my garbage. I kinda get it if you have a big family with 8 or 10 people - I'm sure they've had lots of people leave it a total mess, but for 2 of us it was a bit annoying to pay what we did and have to clean up everything. I mean part of being on vacation is to have people wait on you and not have to worry about these things - especially for what I paid to stay here. Another thing, when we checked in we asked for pool towels and she got us a few but told us in the future we needed to bring our own pool towels...Then what are we paying such a high resort fee for!!? After all is said and done I am giving Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins 4 stars. Again, this place is cute, nice and very comfortable but with all the dings mentioned above, I can't give it 5 stars.

This isn't one of those pleasant jokes, like a gift card that says $10 and really has a $100 loaded on it. You've been pranked. Epic T.V. Show, hidden cameras, scripted level prank. Now to be fair it's not a bad place to stay. The rooms are well furnished the iPads are helpful, the gym is well equipped, they have pictures of the restaurant in the lobby, but I haven't eaten there so I won't comment on that. But that's not to say I don't think I should be given a credit to eat there. With my previous few experiences here I think a free dinner or breakfast is the LEAST they could do to make up for how I was treated. Let's start with the "courtesy call" I made the reservation through the Yaamava VIP host, they took my card info and made the reservation. I made it for the next day and told them I would be around because I had a funeral to attend to. That I would be by to check in after the funeral. So they called me... DURING THEN FUNERAL, that's not what I call a courtesy, it was inhumane. But the manager on duty Ms. Summer put the blame on Yaamava, so we both lamented Yaamava's unprofessionalism. The coup de grâce which really irks me is the deposit policy. Check in isn't until 4pm. Standard, no problem with that. But if you don't check in by 6pm they charge your credit card the full amount of the room. UNACCEPTABLE!!! You have two hours to check in or they charge you an outrageous price? Two hours? Get this if they charge you this ridiculous unexpected rate and your card doesn't go through, they give away your room. What kind of threat is that? Where does it make sense and in whose mind is this policy okay in? The general manager Jason called the next day and acted like this policy was completely normal. You can tell when you're talking to someone who has been trained to gaslight, It's not a normal policy it's crazy. In summary I like staying at Bear Springs, it's not Yaamava not anywhere even close to the same level of luxury but it's still cool. But I hate the deposit policy. The charge stays on your card for weeks. It's like an interest free loan they take EVERY time. It really sucks as far as unnecessary payments go, because they charge you another deposit on top of that when you arrive. It's an utter failure as far as policies go. So just be aware even though you got comped a stay you'll most likely be ripped off the entire amount for a good portion of time. Plus a deposit. Whoever came up with this policy should be scalped a square inch on both temples. Two days later and neither of the charges or deposits or whatever they called these cash grabs have been returned. Have fun coming here, be prepared for their failure of a completely unnecessary and superfluous policy to jack you for a few hundred. But hearing them bad mouth their partner Yaamava is slightly amusing. Overall verdict, this place seems like a strong maybe. Think carefully before staying.
