Today was a Sunday and I was excited to see they were open till 345p. I already had recyclables separated. The guy helping me was super nice and quickly weighed my three loaded trash cans. I asked if the recycle used batteries, but they do not. Still great they take many other materials including cardboard. The cashier was very friendly as we bonded over the time change. There's been times where I've arrived a little late (or very close to closing time), and the workers are almost always willing to help out! And if they can't, I understand - that would be my bad for coming outside of the posted hours! Ricardo, that opened the bin, saw i was waiting first and i asked him how much time he needed to get ready to open and he said '5 minutes and I'll help you out' so i waited for him before starting to stack my bottles. While he was setting up, I asked if it was okay if I gave them a case waters that they can keep for the heat and he said ok, took the waters, then walked away from the bin and stared a conversation with some towing guy nearby. The other guy (Angel i think? It was hard to understand his words) finally mustered the courage to come to work as well, and he put out the barrels and asked who was first and everyone pointed at me. I said I was ready--then he proceeded to help out the 2 other customers :( 'Angel' and 'Ricardo' were disappointing on this Friday Aug 22, 2025. I am no judge of their character but the odor they had, the slurring in their speech, and the speed at which they moved woulda had me guessing they were hungover or drugs :( I'm not even sure they typed in the numbers correctly--the way they both were standing there staring at the keyboard. Haven't gone to a recycling center in more than a decade so my recycling game has been off. I had…read morefour trash bags of empty protein bottles and was worried about waiting in line while holding all of them but that wasn't the case. Despite that, the process of dropping off my bottles was insanely smooth. All I did was approach one of the workers for some assistance, and they directed me to one of the baskets. From there they helped me sort through the different plastics I had. They weighed it, gave me a receipt, and I turned it in to the front booth for my cash. The process took around 10-15 minutes. Staff was super chill and they were even patiently assisting someone else on the side who accidentally turned in something they shouldn't have. Being immediately helped, short and smooth process, and additional help with sorting my recycling? Now that's the kind of recycling center I would come back to.
