This place is great! The rates are some of the best in Orange County, the guy who works here is BEYOND helpful, and they're open every day! This is my go to recycling spot that I've been visiting for years now. There's been times where I've arrived a little late (or very close to closing time), and the workers are almost always willing to help out! And if they can't, I understand - that would be my bad for coming outside of the posted hours! But they work really hard here (especially in the summer), and I appreciate that the guy who I always see here (forgive me for not knowing him by name) - he's so nice and personable and will usually chat me up a bit while he weighs my bags. The hours can be inaccurate and unpredictable but when they are open, Frank is always friendly and fast. I love that it's so close to home but the day we went on a Sunday, it wasn't open so we went to the one on Collins and Tustin. Person working here isn't always here when the hours are stated. I've had to wait for long periods of time until someone came to run the place. There aren't enough bags for those of us wanting to recycle our cans and plastic bottles. People don't take turns as they should (first come first served). Make sure to take your receipt and go into the liquor store to get your cash afterwards. When in doubt, call to see if they are open. They are closed on Wednesdays. You get decent amount of money for what you recycle. read more

I got here before closing time and before the door on the trailer slammed shut for the night. I wanted to get these bags out of my truck more than I needed the CRV! One guy, the older of the two, said "sure hurry up, the door isn't closed yet"..while the other one quickly closed it, looking my direction as he did it then claimed he didn't see me and it was too heavy to open up again. I guess his skate board was his motivation to close early with customers in line since 5 min later he's riding it around the lot! I called this place first because I was hesitant to drive 10 miles only to find they closed early, but no one answered the phone. I decided to take the chance based on the owner's mission statement. I'm furious at being stuck with 2 bags recyclables in my truck overnight because of a skateboard! Coming back here would be a mistake since they value their customers so little. This the worst recycling place I've been to and I've been to my share. The man that works here is quick and efficient. He is so pleasant! I hate going to recycling places, seems like each place has their own preference of sorting their bottles and I always get yelled at for sorting it wrong! Today, it was different. The gentleman explained (nicely) the difference between CRV plastics and the ones that say 5 cents and it's important to sort those separately. I'm so glad to found this recycling center so close to home when all the rePlanet centers have shut down due to the high cost of operating cost. Quick way to turn your recyclables into cash. The values for aluminum are at market value so you know you'll be getting what you should, as well as for everything else. If you have plastic bottles (water, juice, etc) make sure you remove the caps before recycling. If not, they will literally make you take off every cap before they accept it. Some plastics they won't accept which they'll discard for you. If you've never been, it's easy. You get there, grab owner manny trash bins you need to separate your recyclables. Once you're done separating them, walk them up to the worker. He'll weigh them and that's it. He'll hand you a receipt to take to the cashier. Make sure you have your ID!! They won't give you money with out it. read more

Quite possibly the CLEANEST and most convenient bottle recycling I've experienced. Located in the parking lot behind a liquor store. You turn in your bottles and cash out at the liquor store. Be careful to not come around the lunch hour since the young man that runs the recycling closes for about 30 minutes. I think he closed at 1 pm until 1:30 pm. The only reason for only 4 stars is because I tried to turn in my bottles on the previous Saturday and they closed earlier than the posted hours so I had to drive around for 2 days with bags of bottles in my car. The bottle bins that you roll to your car are cleaner than anywhere else I've been. In fact they had some newer bins that looked almost brand new. It's so nice they keep this place clean. What a great find! Our former recycling center shut down in Tustin and I found Next Generation Recycling this past weekend. I had 2 years worth of recycling at my Mom's house! The employees running the center are awesome, courteous and professional and really helpful. I had so many plastic bottles and glass and they helped me get it all together. This was the third recycling center I went to today, just to recycle some bottles and cans. The first place I went to wasn't recycling cans that day. The second place I went to, the guy running the place just randomly left without saying anything, and after waiting for almost 10 minutes, I left, along with half the line. Weird. Compared to those experiences, this place is great. The person who helped me, Frank, was actually polite and pleasant, which is rare for a recycling center lol. Like, he literally asked me how my day was going--I was shocked. Even the other people in line were nice. One kind lady offered to make her teenage son help me sort my plastics and cans. The employer inside the liquor store, where you redeem ticket--he was nice too. This place is SO WEIRD for a recycling center. Everyone is nice and helpful and efficient. I have been coming here for years, and the workers are always great. The main guy deals with a lot of grouchy people, gets stung by bees often, and still manages to stay professionall and kind. My daughter has been recycling her water bottles since the pandemic started. She's been smashing them and saving them in a large plastic bag. We decided to cash them in today. We've never been to recycle so it's new to us. We drove up and got out of the car. It's super hot right now and there was a line. The guy walked over and told me he's going to lunch but will be back at 1:45. Everyone deserves their break, especially in this 98+ degrees days. We told him ok and Started to head back to the car. He said wait. Is that all you have? We had a large trash bag full and one quarter full. He said he will take us before his break. That was very thoughtful of him. This place is always closed way earlier than the posted hours. I get that they may fill up on occasion but between the work staff being odd and goofing around and their greetings of "we're closed." at 1:30 when they're open til 4:30--this place is so inconsistent that it's not worth the time to go. read more

I will reemphasize what others have been posting here the past few years and recommend that you do not waste your time coming here. I did not arrive minutes before closing time. I drove by in the morning just past their listed opening hours and they still were closed. I also needed to go to the bank that day, so it was no big deal. It was a little past 9 AM so I kept driving to the bank. I came back by around 20 minutes later and the gates were still closed without anyone in sight. I've actually had similar experiences with this location in the past so no surprise. I went and picked up breakfast nearby but before driving all the way back home I went by again for a last ditch effort. It was still a no-go. At 9:48 AM the doors were still closed and by this time there was a small crowd of customers in front sitting downcast in their truck beds with the tailgates opened and waiting for workers to arrive and help them with offloading bags full of aluminum cans. He is so pleasant and courteous, knowing that he sometimes deals with some crazy folk. He is always helpful, and if it's ever slow, you'll get a chance to talk with him, and see just how well mannered a person he is. Ok so maybe they close a little faster than then posted hour on the wall but come on, these guys have been outside for 8 hours no matter what the weather may be like. They have been very nice and helpful each time Ive gone there... The main guy there is always helping costumers unload their bags and they are really quick too. I've been searching for a new place to take my recycling ever since the one on Grand Ave in Santa Ana closed. I went here a few weeks ago because I had another stop to make on Chapman Ave. For me "Meh" definitely sums it up! The parking lot is small and sticky - ew. It wasn't terribly busy when I was there, but then there's only about 12 parking spaces to choose from and it shares the parking lot with a liquor store. I bet a lot of people plan on stopping there but go somewhere else when it's busy. The guy that takes your recycling & weighs it was okay. Fast & efficient with the weighing but not big on helping people get their stuff sorted out. That's okay though as there were other people there. I thought I might even come back a second time until I took my receipts (yes, plural) inside to get my money. When I handed both pieces of paper to the guy behind the counter he made some snarky remark about he'd be happy to throw the one he didn't need away for me. Dude, it's my first time here. I don't work here. I don't know why I have 2 receipts and I sure as shit don't know which one you need. Take the one you need, throw the other one (or cram it somewhere) and give me my money so that I can get out of here and never come back, 'mmmkay, pumpkin? Finally I get my cash from him and head back onto Chapman Ave. If you want to head west on Chapman after coming here I pity you. The nearest stoplight is a block east of here and traffic is BRUTAL. fail.. Don't pay attention to hours posted! Arrived at 5:42 but the doors are closed. The workers are inside but it's obvious they are done for the day. Operation hours says 9-6 lunch 1-1:45 By 5:50 these guys were gone. So what time should you get here in order to recycle? Arrive early but not that early. Go before they close but not that late. you have to find the just right time between opening, lunch, closing with this place and that kind of guessing is not for me. read more

The state recycling people states they all recycling centers have to accept 50 counted beer bottles, cans, and/or water bottles along with soda bottles I was there today and the employee refused to except a small bag of cans and waters bottle from a homeless person.he tried to do the same with me and my boys until I told him he was required by the state to accept them and he stated I hate counting this stuff. the poor homeless guy lives on what he recycles what gives the employee the right to refuse.I will be calling Next Generation office about this matter. Making up their own hours of operation. Showed up three times in a row and was turned away each time. I did not show up during lunch time as it is stated on their site but for some reason every time i would show up they magically go on lunch. Sounds a bit fishy. Never had a problem until recently. I've been coming here since I was a wee little thing. Had great experiences before. I'm a full time college student who normally can't make it during their daytime hours. I checked the hours once I left School today to ensure I'd make it in time. All media indicated that they close at 5:30pm. So I made The drive because this is my usual place. After well over a decade of coming here I am Very upset with the treatment I received. Not only are the hours wrong I was Brushed off for being only 5 minutes late from their new closing time written on a piece of cardboard. Online it says 5:30pm as their closing time. Little did I know They made it 5pm now. When I got there a family was still unloading basically all of their cans and was provided after hour services. I was Told oh they are closed. And I was Like what time do they close ( because I was Under the impression of it being 5:30) and a customer said 5. And someone who didn't look like a worker but was, also said yeah they close at 5 but he's just finishing up. So I had To take my bottles and be flustered. I drove All the way from my college in Fullerton in rush hour traffic for them to dismiss me like trash. This is not ok with me. Invest some money in open signs that don't look like they came from the trash and update you current hours on all social and online media. read more

I have been here 3 times(we dont get much CRV recycling so I go every 3-5 months to make my trip worth it) and all 3 times the guy was very helpful. Today, however, I arrived at 12:45 knowing that lunch break (which is clearly posted on the building) is from 1:00-1:30. The building is locked. No one there. The cashier in the liquor store told me that they had no idea where the guy was as they just lease the space. I waited 15 minutes and a large pickup shows up(completely overflowing with bags of recycling) and parks between me and the building. I don't even think this was a parking space. He was so close to the building that I dont think they would be able to open the doors. I was not in the mood to have a 'I was here first' conversation with this guy and his teenage son so after 10 more minutes I LEFT! Total wait time 25 minutes. I will not be back. Obviously this business opens and closes at any time and when you try to take care of things on your lunch break and the business does not maintain posted business hours it is time to find one that does. read more
