Was on a road trip in June and needed immediate service due to a rock that wedged itself in my steering column. Lisa was incredibly helpful and kind. They fixed everything quickly and free of charge. They also loaded me up on snacks for the drive and gave me a complimentary car wash- amazing to see out of a clean windshield after a few hundred miles of looking at squished bugs. Buy a Subaru and you will end up replacing several engines due to failed oil consumption tests, which is the truth. Google it. There was a huge lawsuit regarding this. I am also saying this from personal experience. I will NEVER buy a Subaru again as long as I live and especially any car from this dealership. When trying to replace the third engine due to another failed oil consumption test (brand "new" Subaru engines last 30,000-50,000 miles and yes, I change and check my oil regularly), the service manager, Chris, actually told me Subaru was trying to "sweep the failed oil consumption tests under the rug" and refused to cover a new engine. Subaru wouldn't either. So I paid for a new engine myself (had it replaced by another mechanic in town), sold the Subaru, and bought a brand new Toyota. Stick with Toyota or Honda and stay FAR away from Subaru if you want a car that you can count on for more than 50,000 miles. These guys know they are selling you a brand new lemon every single time. I have nothing good to say about this dealership. I bought a new Outback three and a half years and 53,000 miles ago and have had multiple issues, both with the vehicle and with the dealership. As far as the car, the hatch has broken, the windshield was defective and cracked, and the leather on the seats started to crack and come apart. The infotainment system has also needed numerous updates in order to function (still waiting to see if the recent update has solved the problem). I understand that warranty issues happen, and much of this was at least partially covered under the vehicle's warranty, but the dealership here has been less than helpful. They initially declined to even look at the windshield problem, despite my contacting them after receiving a mail notice from Subaru detailing the issue and directing consumers to contact their local dealer. They also declined to look at the leather seat issue. Both times I contacted the Subaru Advocacy team and was eventually able to get some help. When the struts on the hatch failed, I had to take the car in and call multiple times over the course of a month before they actually ordered and received the parts and replaced them. The last time I took my car in for a regular service, they charged me to rotate the tires but didn't actually rotate them. They also failed to put the oil pan plug in securely, and I and my son were stranded on the interstate for almost four hours waiting for a tow truck. I called the dealer multiple times during this and failed to get any help aside from them asking me to bring the car back into the dealership. Once I did, they did apologize and kept the car for a few days to clean off the oil that was all over it and check the engine for damage. They did eventually reimburse me for the tow truck, but it took multiple months for them to reimburse me for the replacement parts and service I needed after the mountain bike that was on a hitch rack was covered in motor oil. They still charged me for the oil change and tire rotation. I have had multiple experiences when I brought the car in for service and was told it would be an hour at the most and was then left sitting there for 2-3 hours. I also recently had a service that I was told would be $173 that then turned into a $340 repair due to miscellaneous charges. Overall, I've been incredibly disappointed. Sadly, I've spoken with friends who have had similar experiences with this location, as well. I would recommend looking elsewhere for help. read more

The gentle man whom my husband was talking to wad very rude, said we could buy it for $250.00 for 6-8 months. We thought we had the coverage. We have the factory 3-year warranty. He said are you going to sell the car in three years and my husband said I don't know I could. The guy at the Subaru hung up on my husband. We pulled our papers, and we do have extended coverage. Service after sale so far has been hard to get as it seems like one person tells you one thing and then another person says something else

The Grand Junction Subaru service department is extremely over priced. $1400+ to replace spark plugs and coils. Priced parts at $600. Ridiculous! The dealership held $1000 for 2 1/2 months to reserve an outback. We disagreed on my trade in's value. Suspecting dishonesty, I asked if the reserve money was, in fact, refundable. I did NOT ask for a refund. The car was delivered to the dealership 2 months later. The dealership held my reserve money, but did not contact me when the car arrived. Rather, they sold it out from under me to someone else and then, after 2 1/2 months, refunded my money. They made no effort to contact me. I WILL tell everyone I know about getting shafted by this dealership. And I will them them that Subaru is not worth getting shafted by Subaru's dealers. read more

Unless you like headaches, bring your vehicles elsewhere for service. To name a few reasons why: astronomical service prices, extremely spotty communication, no real diagnostics provided after charging for labor and so on. This shop is a total mess. read more

There customer service is horrible. Their website is completely disfunctional. The prices are never correct, i made an appt. for an oil change and had to have another part installed and they forgot to do the oil change and i had to go back another day. The part i had to have installed had to be ordered. They told me it would be 3-4 days but ended up taking months without any explanation. They say you can get a free car wash also but half the time they dont have enough employees to do that. They ask you to take a survey after every service but either noone actually reads them or they just dont care about their customers and making things right. Subarus are not designed very well. i have a crosstrek and if you open the windows in the back seat while the car is moving the car starts shaking and it messes with the pressure in your ears. There are parts of the interior that arent even finished. Their is just rough cut foam in spots and they told me thats just how subaru does it and didnt even try to to fix it. These people are a joke and dont care about their customers. read more

Stay away!!!!!This is hands down the worst dealership experience I have ever had. Went to the Dealership with my soon to be 16 yr old daughter to look at vehicles. Sales person walks the lot with us and has us test drive a Mazda mid size suv. My daughter fell in love with the vehicle and the sales person told us the price $12,500. She drove it again, taking selfies telling her friends etc. we worked out the down payment and financing and I we came back to pick up the following day and the car was parked up front waiting for us. He said just write the check and it's yours and gave my daughter her keys to her very first car. She was so excited. After an hour or so of waiting for the go ahead to leave we were notified by the dealership that there was a mix up and the car they had sold us for $12500 was actually going to cost $24,500 and they would gladly sell it us for $24,500. Needless to say we did not make the purchase out of principle and they will never get any business from this family again. Breaking a soon to be 16 yr old girls heart like is practically criminal. I took my grandmother to Grand Junction Subaru to look for a new car, she was very nervous about picking out a new car but our salesman Jeffery Hart was very patient with her and incredibly knowledgeable about each model of car. My car was making some squeaking noises which I suspected was the fan belt. It turned out I was right, and I got pretty good service. First, when I called to scheduled an appointment, I was scheduled promptly and dealt with courteously. While it took over an hour for them to replace my fan belt, they offered a valet service for me to run my errands, if I needed, and a free car wash. I had no where else to be, so I sat in the lobby and waited. Everyone was super nice and there was a great snack bar. I have had issues in the past with being gaslighted over my technological suspicions, and being dealt with as politely as I was, was a breath of fresh air. I highly recommend going here for repairs; you will be treated fantastically. read more

They didn't know how to reset the computer after an oil change. It was unbelievable. Tell the owner and he would just run away. Completely incompetent. His name will stand out in my mind for a while. I was having brake issues on my Toyota Corolla. After another business in town, when getting my oil change, told me I had a good half life on all pads, my started hearing this terrible screeching noise. I took it right into the Subaru Service department because that's where I bought my car. It has been a frustrating ordeal, dealing with my brakes. I've had to go in a couple of times due to a plate issue, hence the four star rating. Let me tell you though...Cody has been so great and understanding, caring very much they get it right. The service director, Peter Barc, is phenomenal. First, you will be delighted by his cool (Austrian???) accent. Second, third, and so on, Peter went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I don't need to be pampered or tended to hand and foot, but I do appreciate that he wanted to make sure I was. He first called me into his office and listened to what my car issues were. After letting me talk and describe in my ignorant and limited car knowledge, he talked about the different possibilities of my brake woes. He and Cody gave me a loaner car. Then Peter and he technician drove my car around for a good chunk of the day, really getting down to the proper diagnosis. Remember, I'd been there before for a brake issue. Well, they fixed it and it was pretty much close to perfect. I think some people are quick to judge or get angry, etc., if things don't turn out right the first time. I get it...it's time and money. However, Peter Barc and Cody did everything in their power to make things right and to get things right. I have nothing but praise for their effort, their professionalism, their time, and their friendliness. read more

I took my 2011 Forrester in for service because two warning lights were on- AT Oil Temp and ABS. I approved the text telling me what was needed. I was told when I picked up the car that the problem causing the two warning lights was solved. The next day when I drove the car the lights came back on. I called service, and was told to bring the car back the next day, and I asked for a ride to my work. I waited in the sitting area for about 20 minutes for the shuttle, then asked the service person how much longer for a ride, and she had forgotten about me. Later I received a text again, and this time it was a different repair, costing almost three times as much as the first. I questioned why I had to pay for the first repair which didn't fix the problem, and she said it was because the sensor was not on the first time showing them the real issue. They repaired what they thought was the problem. I decided against having the repair done there, and found another auto repair and service facility which quoted me much less. I have used service at GJ Subaru before, and was very disappointed that it was not the same level of professionalism. read more

I called and was connected with Jason Nisley, which was cool we had the same name. I told him what I needed to get on my trade in, he came back with a great offer in no time at all. We looked at the 2019 wrx, and a 2019 Impreza. The wrx, was hot!!!! Very nice, but I really liked the impreza. I knew right away, I wanted the car. Just a couple short hours of being at this dealer, I drove away in a 2019 Subaru Impreza premium. Best investment I've ever made, and I'm a customer for life. We were looking at trading in my wife's car for a new vehicle. We were impressed with our sales guy, Michael. He took his time to find us cars that were in our price range with all the features we wanted. We spent a couple of hours test driving vehicles. It came down to that they had one vehicle that would meet our needs. It was our second choice for a vehicle to purchase. We ended up going with another dealer because they wouldn't give us enough for our trade-in. We ended up getting $1,200 more from the other dealer. They just try to sell you a multihundred $ package, even if you don't need it, because you already had it taken care of someplace else. But they keep reminding you over and over that your brake fluid is bad and your power steering fluid needs flushing. They get your consent to do it, they can charge you for it, but if it is not necessary, they are not going to change it, but you will pay regardless. I have a Subaru forested 2.5, but they tried to sell me a timing belt for the Turbo model. Flower Subaru is worse yet, they even send you home in a dirty car after they try to sell you services you won't ever be able to verify. read more

Beware Travelers if you have to stop by the Grand Junction Suburu! You definitely will not get the same service as a local. You don't live in the area, so why would Grand Junction care if the treatment and attention you receive is subpar. I was greeted with enthusiasm by Lisa Chick, but that was the last time I heard or saw my service rep. I did immediately receive a text that she would be sending me updates, which never happened. In addition, I was never even told my car was ready! After noticing all the other service reps coming into the waiting room to notify their customers about their cars, customers who had arrived after I did, I went to check on my car. The keys and paperwork were sitting on her desk and she was nowhere to be found. No telling how long they had been sitting there. Another service rep had me sign the papers without going over anything or even telling me where my car was. I had to ask. As far as the service, it appears to have been okay. I was having an oil change and tire rotation. I did realize later on, though, they did not fill up my windshield wiper fluid. I have called and texted to complain several times, and have received no response from Lisa Chick to this day. (In my opinion, she should be fired.) Ironically, I received a text from the same number but a different person a few days after my sevice, hoping my expereince was "exceptional." Obviously, my earlier complaint texted to the same number was not read. It appears everything is a recording and there is actually no customer service. Only when I sent a text stating that Corporate Office might be interested in my complaint, did I get a response, specifically a reply text that this issue would be shared with the service manager immediately. No effort to contact me ever occurred until I complained to the Corporate Office. Then I received some calls, but I was camping and had no reception. I later called to speak to the owner, Ron, but he was out of town? I did finally reach him and he said he would call back within the hour. That was 17 days ago. My service was done in late June. The Corporate Office does have a ticket on my complaint, but even so, I am not satisfied with the results. So Subaru travelers, if you absolutely have to use Subaru Grand Junction, beware. read more

I was looking for a used car that would be fun and reliable - and checked out some Subarus at GJ Subaru. After looking around their used car lot, they showed me a Saab that was in really good condition. The price was very fair, as I shopped around nationally looking for a similar car. When I test drove it, the backup sensors were not working, but by the time I picked it up, they were repaired. And a few days after getting it home, there was an issue with the alarm system; they replaced it even though I bought it with no warranty! These guys are great, I think they will take really good care for you. read more

My car was smelling like plastic burning so called to make an appointment. A $125 diagnostic charge, but if they find the problem and repair it, they would apply the $125 to the invoice charge. Took my car to an independent auto repair shop, the had it fixed within a couple hours and there was NO CHARGE. I've taken my car to GJ Subaru before and have also had issues AFTER I picked it up. Love my Subaru and my salesman, but not the service department. read more

I had my car up for sale on AutoTrader when I got a call from Grand Junction Subaru saying they wanted to it. I told them the price was firm and that I was already considering several good offers. They told me to go ahead and bring it in. I sat in the waiting area for half an hour while they inspected and road tested my mint late model Mazda. They came back with an absurd low ball offer, many thousands lower than I told them I would accept when they first called me. I sold the car a few days later for what I was asking. If you have a Subaru I guess you have to take it to these guys for warranty work, but don't sell your car to these Bozos. read more

They replaced the wind shield on my new Legacy. The wind shield was hard to get (back ordered 3 weeks) but they had one in stock and held it for me. They did the repair while I was away, completed on schedule and washed my car in the bargain. They made it easy for me to drop-off and pick-up my car after hours. When there was a discrepancy between the estimate and the actual charges, they resolved it immediately in my favor. read more

Really really above and beyond service! My spouse and I were in Grand Junction as a part of our honeymoon and our Suby needed an oil change. Took her in here and while they were working on her discovered that our front two tires were dangerously bald (in the lead up to the trip we just hadn't had a chance to get her looked at like we try to do before big trips) Long story short: we would have had to end our honeymoon had we paid what we needed to get the tires taken care of at the dealership. As I was sobbing into my spouses chest, one of the mechanics let us know there was a Discount Tire in town. We were able to get finished up at the dealership and then head over to the tire place to get taken care of. This provided a MASSIVE discount and we were able to continue our trip! They treated our baby very well with the oil change and gave her a wash before we got her back. Really great people working here! read more

I'm very happy with my service experience at GJT Subaru. I did a DIY project on my Crosstrek yesterday. I broke something and it was no moving forward at that point. I reluctantly called GJT Subaru expecting the worst; no availability and when I did get it in, it wasn't going to be cheap. I called and spoke with Lisa Chick. I told her what I had done and she flat out just said, "Get down here right now". I arrived. It was my first time there. Beautiful facility!! I found Lisa right away at her desk, I got a good-natured rib poking over my tool handling aptitude and then my car was whisked away just that fast. I was so please with Lisa. She has amazingly effective customer service skills. Not easy in the world we live in of virus's, a struggling economy and short tempers. While I waited in comfort, I was greeted by at least half dozen employees who asked, "Are you in good hands.....?". My car was pulled from the shop and (wait for it) the bill was cheaper than had I let the neighbourhood fixer guy do it who also loves to round off the bolt heads. We moved up from Orlando, FL at the beginning of June and quickly learned our '03 Saturn wasn't going to be the car suited for our needs living in Grand Junction. For what we wanted out of our next vehicle my boyfriend and I decided was a truck. We saw some on the lot so we stopped in and met salesman Chris Van Holt. I've worked in the sales and marketing industry for 4 years and have been part of the car buying experience a few times. Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with! Our experience could have been terrible and being new to the area I am sure we could have gotten messed around with but Chris and the rest of the sales staff at GJ Subaru earned our trust very early on.
