Spent a night here at a wedding recently. The only thing missing from this creepy, dirty-carpeted, Victorianesque "hotel" was a ghostly girl in a white dress, floating across the corridor, with murderous intent in her dead eyes. For the price they charge for this hotel you'd assume that they would have undertaken some form of restoration over the past 50 years, but I guess they are squeezing every last penny out of it before it falls to the ground. Maybe I am being a bit harsh - the staff were a bit pleasant (although didn't know about the parking situation outside the front door of the hotel) and the breakfast wasn't the worst. I can't say I will ever stay there again - the room was not clean (stained carpets, dirty bathroom), so I'll urge caution for any intrepid travellers heading down Fermoy way....(By the way, the wedding wasn't in the hotel, thankfully!). read more
