The service was great and we loved the room set up. It separated the bathrooms and the children's room nicely! The views of the city are some of the best in the area and it's a pretty easy walk down hill to most things as we'll probably end up taking a taxi back most times. The front desk was running a little bit behind on check-in but made up with it by comping a few drinks. The drinks were well worth the wait in The GlassHouse with a menu like non-other! If you get a chance, go ask Jake at the main bar afterwards for The Holy Trinity of beers then finish with a Beaverton Neck Oil for a good IPA! Totally recommended and we just got here!

When we went to our new room we were given toothbrushes. The phone was inoperative in the room so we could not communicate with the front desk. They tried to do what they could and they were willing to comp the first night (although they initially felt a 30% discount was fair). We briefly got to enjoy the complimentary spa hydrotherapy pool, steam, and sauna rooms, which were beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were both fantastic with top-notch service. Our cocktails and dinner had a gorgeous presentation, and everything we ate was wonderful. There are lots of good options at the breakfast bar and plenty of gluten-free items for me. Only issue was the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and they were a little rude when I called to ask if we should evacuate or disregard, and then no one apologized or explained the next morning at check out. Here, with help from the friendly staff, we can buy gifts, both big and small; we have three floors to choose from. There is a bar attached and further along the building you may have a bite to eat in the restaurants. You may stroll in the grounds and, on Thursday mornings, include the colourful Farmers Market in your walk. Loads of parking here too. And don't forget that Santa comes annually. Now is he a local or a tourist?

There were horses, goats and pigs. Swans swimming in the ponds. What a treat. The doormen were beyond helpful, friendly and genuine. Check in was quick and smooth. I felt badly with just my backpack and Tesco plastic bag when asked if we needed assistance with our baggage :-) (NOTE-in the evening there is the most delicious alcohol and non alcoholic lemonade type drinks in the lobby) The room rates tied to my stay at The Loge in Pebble Beach. So luxurious. I never wanted to leave the room. The bathroom is what dreams are made of. I took full advantage of having a lovely tub bath as well. The toiletries are top tier and the lotion was amazing and smelled so nice. It was for sale but because I only had a carry on I could not purchase it. The hotel has a great gym and swimming pool. They do have hours so plan accordingly. Also, you will have to purchase a swimming cap (if you have one from home bring it). Also, the pool does have specific hours for children. There are plenty of lockers you can leave your items as well. I loved seeing everyone around the hotel walking in their robes coming to and from the gym/pool to their rooms. We enjoyed walking the grounds too. We only ate breakfast here and WOW it was amazing and filled us up for the day. The honey is scraped fright from an enormous cone on the buffet. Super friendly and attentive staff. Once again top notch and class. There is plenty of parking available. We did not dine at the hotel for dinner but walked to the near by affiliated pub for dinner. The hotel did offer to drive us there and pick us up but we declined. It is safe and we enjoyed the short walk. All about the hotel are unique pieces of artwork and sculptures. I loved the wooden animals. There is a great historic bar, reading room as well. Note-do not turn on the do not disturb light on your door if you go out at night if you want turn down bed service and a delicious chocolate. Well worth the money. Golfers will love the course as well. The sauna was great after our round.

Yet, everything in the central area of Cork City is just a short walk away. The hostel also provides great views of Cork, and the building itself has a lot of character. It is not utilitarian as many other hostels are. The walls are painted vibrant colors and the architecture has a very rustic feel. As for the rooms...the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the staff is helpful and friendly. You couldn't ask for more!

You get some nice amenities and the service is very nice. A few issues I had: the lock box didn't work, they don't replenish the water daily, the towels were a bit scratchy. however, the staff were really nice, the full irish buffet breakfast was phenomenal, the soaps were really nice and the amenities were as booked. I stayed here because it was close to family who live in Ballincollig but I would stay here again regardless. I would compare this to higher end than a Holiday inn but below a Marriot or Hyatt.

When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely property. The location is very close to the Blarney Castle and some nice local restaurants. A cab to Cork costs 25 euro each way, which is pricey but worth it if you plan on a night of dinner and drinks. Our room was quite large which was great since we were there for two nights. I loved the sizable balcony. I also really liked all the mirrors around the room which made it so much easier for two girls to get ready at the same time. The bathroom was large as well and clean. My only complaint is that the half-wall on the shower means water gets all over the floor - it's unavoidable. There weren't many towels provided, either, but we were able to grab some extras on our second day. Breakfast is on the pricey side, but we opted in on Easter Sunday morning since it was convenient. We also tried room service for dinner, which took longer than expected and had a couple mistakes (missing side salad, aioli on the sandwiches instead of on the side as requested, etc.). I'd suggest skipping meals at the hotel, if possible. Otherwise, our stay was solid and one of the better hotels we encountered during our trip!
