The owner and his staff are all very nice and they have 2 framed poster size photos up in their store taken from the scenes in the movie. I don't often pump gas here but I do get my coffee here M-F. And I am impressed for the service they provide and the attention I get when I pick up my coffee. There are a few young people cashiering and they're so nice and attentive to your needs. It's funny I come for coffee but these kids offer you pastries, sandwiches, and other stuff. Plus they serve coffee bean coffee and their coffee station is impecable! Clean! Always well stocked up. I am hooked with this place as they make my day!!! read more

When the occasional problem crops up, I know I can trust him absolutely to quote a fair price, tell me the whole story--what's necessary and how long I can run safely before tires or brakes etc need to be serviced. I was caught in a jam regarding my car, and I dreading to take my car to the dealership cause lord knows getting your car repaired at dealerships cost a limb or four. So a friend of mine told me to go to the 76 gas station on Rinaldi and Balboa. He went with me and introduced me to BOB. He's the owner and main mechanic there. Great guy! Ever since then, even my parents take their cars there, and they are hard people to impress. I get my car repaired at great cost and swift timing! Great service! Absolutely, if I leave my car there, sometimes if I don't have the means of getting back to the gas station, they would pick me up. How awesome is that! I've been coming here for my smog certificates for my past 2 certs. They always have a coupon for $10.00 off in the "Clipper" magazine that comes in the mail. Or go to www.valleybest.com/granada76 and just print that page with the coupon on it. For $39.00, including the certificate, I'm in and out in about 20 min. While I was waiting, I saw a few cars pull up to the "full service" pump. They still have these?? The guy came out, pumped gas, washed windows, checked oil, checked air pressure AND took the money & brought the lady her change! I thought I was in the twilight zone for a min, a flash back from childhood. Well it def kept me amused while I waited for my car. But these guys are all super friendly and fast. I would suggest calling ahead for a smog check. I will def be back in a couple years, which always feels too soon! read more

The customer service here is SO poor: I just witnessed (after the manager yelled at me for going into the wrong spot, by the way) the manager actually hitting a car that other people were sitting in and cussing at them! We have been coming to this 76 station for a few years now and the service is excellent. I went in for a smog check and was out in 20 minutes! He has repaired our cars and has always been honest and his prices are so reasonable. He thanked me for my business when he was finished Smog checking my car and I told him that he is an HONEST man, that's why we keep coming back. As I was leaving I heard him telling an elderly lady that "her brakes are fine, there is nothing wrong with them", in this day and age people are always taking advantage of the elderly and he could have been one of them but he was just as honest with this woman as he has always been with us. STAY AWAY! Wife takes car with 65k for smog check. She's told by the person she spoke with he'll "precheck" the car so that if she doesn't pass she won't have to pay twice for the smog check. He then uses a handheld device to scan under the dashboard and, lo and behold, finds her vehicle has a problem with cylinder 1 and will not pass. Wife told to return in the morning when mechanic is available and prepare to leave the vehicle for 5 hours. Wife came home with story. PLEASE BE WARNED THAT THIS GAS STATION REGULARLY STEALS FROM ITS CUSTOMERS!!! THIEF! THIEF! THIEF! I've never posted a Yelp review, but I felt compelled to do so after dealing with this criminal today. I pulled into this gas station for the first time today. I usually don't stop off at this gas station since it's a bit further from my house, but I happened to be in the area. As I'm almost done pumping my own gas, an attendant comes out to tell me that I was pumping at a full service pump. He then points to a faded sign on the side of the gas pump saying "Full Serve." He then tells me the "full service" pump charges almost $1 more/gallon. Keep in mind there are NO signs anywhere that would indicate this price difference. I asked him to refund the difference since I did not know and I pumped my own gas anyways. He tells me he couldn't do that as it was already built into the price and my card has been charged. He offers to wipe my windows. I've just wasted $15 and I'm a bit irritated, but decline the offer, and just leave with a hunch that this isn't the first time this has happened to a customer. I get home and tell my wife what happened. She then tells me that she stopped at the same gas station a couple weeks ago and pulled up to the same pump I did. After PUMPING HER OWN GAS, she looks at the receipt which says $4.49/gallon!!! The price on the gas station sign says $3.59/gallon. She didn't bother returning to the gas station to argue, but was just confused why the price was so different. NO ONE ever came out to tell her she was at a "full service" pump!!! NO ONE even OFFERED a "full service" treatment!!! My wife also noticed that there were a couple other cars at the same "full service" island and they probably all unknowingly paid the same inflated price, but got NO SERVICE in return!!! There was NO ATTENDANT anywhere to be seen!!! Full service stations are not very common in LA. But the ones I've seen usually have large signs that say "FULL SERVE." Furthermore, the island is usually marked with cones and there is an attendant manning the station and they will let you know AS SOON AS YOU PULL UP it's a full service station. This 76 station had none of these!!! I called the owner as soon as I got home and asked him how long he had been pulling this scam. He immediately offers to refund the difference even though he refused to do so while I was there. I tell him I could care less about the $15, but I was more concerned with the fact that he's been stealing from dozens of customers in our neighborhood EVERY DAY FOR YEARS!!! I then tell him if he's going to have a LEGITIMATE FULL SERVICE station, he needs to make the changes I've stated above. He then proceeds to tell me he can't afford to pay for a full-time attendant to man the full service station???!!!! THEN WHY IS HE CHARGING FULL-SERVICE PRICES TO CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE NO IDEA THEY'RE PAYING THESE RIDICULOUS PRICES AND NOT RECEIVING ANY SERVICE IN RETURN???!!! He couldn't give me an answer!!! AVOID THIS GAS STATION AT ALL COST!!! CROOKS, CROOKS, CROOKS!!! I'll be reporting them to the BBB. I will make sure everyone in my neighborhood will know these guys are CROOKS! read more

Been going to this place for 6 years now. Been recommending this place to all who I know who need a honest auto mechanic. WELL, this time no more. The owner himself whom I trusted tried to jack me up. I towed my truck there cuz I felt that it was having a transmission problem at night. Left the key to the night clerk as well as my info to call me back. The owner called me and told me that he doesn't do transmission and asked me if he can have his transmission guy to look it it. I told him I trust you, so yeah let him see it. GUESS WHAT THE OWNER DID!!!! He drove the fucking truck to the transmission shop. GUESS WHAT AGAIN!!! STALLED on him and won't shift no more!!!! Being confined to a wheelchair makes even simple tasks more difficult... especially if you have to get out and pump gas. I had to find a full service station and then ask the attendant to serve me at self serve. Even if I could find a station that still had full service, it was always a hassle... until I found this station. Bob and his crew always look out for my car. When I pull into a self service area, they come to help me out as quickly as possible.
