I accidentally drove off with the gas pump yesterday because I got sidetracked, I returned it immediately and apologized, the manager Jessica told me that it's going to cost me $250 but she said cash only, I talked to a few people after that, went to a few different gas stations, just to find out I got scammed and she pocketed the money. I went back today to get my money back and a real invoice and she was caught making a fake one on Microsoft Word. I have been going to this Thrifty gas station since I moved here in 2009. I really enjoyed the employees. I was always greeted and felt welcome. I just found out that the gas station has been bought by a new owner and he terminated all the employees and will be replacing them. One of the cashiers had worked there for 22 years. Yesterday I was getting gas, I gave the lady 2 $20 bills and 4 $5 bills. $60.00 The gas stopped at $50. I went back in, they said I gave 1 $20 and 5 $5. That doesn't even add up to $50. They told me they would check and call me. They never called. So I called. I ask if the register was over. She said it was short. And hung up on me. This store is a rip off. On 07/20/23 I went by to get some gas I wanted to get the regular unleaded and the gas pump only let me get the super unleaded which was more expensive . I believe they don't have the regular or super unleaded plus they only have the expensive kind . The crazy thing is that you don't find this out until you get the pump reset to start pumping and the only selection is the expensive supreme . I have NEVER in 40 years of driving & filling my tank at any gas station had $100. Held on a credit or debit card at a gas station. I can guarantee that not 25% of the customers present yesterday at this station could afford $100. Hold for 24 hours. I have contacted many powers that be -- Government, Oil & Gas administration, county & city offices with regard to this corrupt station I have been promised that this will be carefully investigated as will the owner and other Thrifty stations Good riddance !!! We hit a huge tire that was in the car pool lane just before the Balboa off ramp on the 118.Air bags exploded, windshield broken, horn honking we limped across 4 lanes of traffic and off the Balboa ramp pulling into the Thrifty Gas Station & Mini Mart. Immediately Astrid who was working that day came out to offer us water, another man who happened to be at the gas station dis-connected the electrical to stop the horn honking, while another gentleman bought us water. It was close to 100 degrees, we had 2 dogs with us. Adan who was also working that day allowed me and our two labradors to sit inside the mini mart while we waited an 1 1/2 for a tow truck. We were pretty shaken up but Astrid and Adan's kindness really helped make a difference after the frightening experience we had just had. My boyfriend stopped here for gas today . I told him to pay inside as the pumps are always a little iffy , BUT it was too late . The pump took all his info and then proceeded to charge the .35 traction fee but would not dispense the gas . Horrible, horrible customer service. I walked into the store and there was no attendant at the cash register. After waiting for about 30 seconds I called out "Hello! Hello! Anyone here?" No replies. So I walked out to my car and a moment later an attendant came halfway out the door and with broken English said "why you don't pay". I asked her what she's talking about then she turned around and walked back inside. I followed her inside to explain there was no attendant at the store. But she ignored me and started writing down my license plate as if she had caught some misdeed. I was blown away. I asked her "are you accusing me of stealing? " she said "the camera will tell. Absolutely disgraceful! She had abandoned her post and without a shred of evidence had the audacity to falsely accused me of wrongdoing. I have been getting gas as this station for years. This is the cheapest gas station in the Granada Hills area. The mini mart is better than the other Thrifty Gas Stations I've been to, so that is a plus. You need cash or pay a $0.35 fee to use a debit card. It doesn't have any of those fuel additives like Chevron with Techron, but who really buys into that nonsense anyway!? Hardly ever lines to fill up here. If you are on your way down Balboa Blvd towards Santa Clarita then this is your best chance to fill up. read more

The clerk sees me walking in yet she puts up her closed sign anyway and tells me I'll have to wait 10 minutes they're changing shift it's barely 10 and the station is plenty busy. This gas station has two registers but yet when they change shifts they close both and if you walk in and went to pay cash for gas or even a candy bar they tell you they are closed for 10 minutes and you have to wait. Best price of gas in town. Even if you pay with a debit card and accept the additional charge, you're paying less than the next cheapest gas station nearby as long as you get a full tank. It's a busy spot, obviously because of the price, and it can get extremely frustrating to get a pump depending on which entrance you came in at. It's also difficult to get in and out because it's at a busy intersection and right next to a freeway offramp, so you get people blocking driveways, larger vehicles taking up space etc. Best suggestion, get the gas during non-peak hours and you'll be just fine. read more

Best prices in town! Attendants are always fast & friendly. I've been coming here for years & never had an issue. There are plenty of pumps and the lot is big enough to allow you to pull around other cars easily, if need be. Had a bad experience here. As I was filling gas the pump stopped at 21$ and some change which I thought was weird because my tank was empty and it takes about 50$ to fill my gas tank up. I got a feeling to check my bank account online and I see I was charged about 44$ I quickly walked in to let them know something is wrong with the pump that it charged me but it didn't give me the correct amount of gas and they said drive around a little maybe the gas meter will rise up to full if you do. So being naive I did just that around the block and left My car on for a little bit to see if it would go up but it raised only a pinch I walked in demanding the refund of the extra charge but the owner or man there claimed that it was not incorrect. After explaining what had happened to 2 other people trying to figure out what happened which caused me to be late to work and them basically saying I was crazy I gave up and said screw it and left. Have not been to this location for gas since. Don't use your debit card!!! Very shady and on top of that there is a $0.35 charge when you don't use cash. read more

Horrible service! The attendant Esperanza STOLE $20 from me! I went in to get $40 worth of gas, paid with the only bill I had, $100 bill and got $60 in change. I went to go fill up and the pump stopped at $20. I went back in and she argued with me, said I was lying. She then stopped speaking to me and the started only speaking in Spanish with the other attendant. Over a matter of principle, I returned to speak with their manager, who was elusive and took 20 minutes to even come talk to me. This has to be one of the most poorly operated and maintained gas stations/mini marts I have ever been to. It was a windy day and one of the light posts by the parking stalls was leaning and creaking so much that I feared for the life of my vehicle. I went inside to get a coffee refill and all but one of the Urns was empty. The only one with coffee in it was cold and past its prime. I'm not even sure why I paid for it. Yes, it was Christmas Day, so I do not fault the cashier for any grinchyness. Even if you don't partake in the celebration, it would be nice to relax like everyone else. He may not have been paying atention to the coffee, but he was pleasant. I would have to place blame for the disrepair of the site on the franchisee. Too often, they care little about safety, customer satisfaction and employee welfare to spend the money needed to keep people safe and happy. read more

The gas prices here are cheap and so is the customer service. I came here to fill up while I was in a hurry to go to work, and boy was I wrong to come here. Apparently, something was wrong with the gas pump because someone had pressed the emergency switch to stop all gas, so there was no gas being supplied to anyone.
