Dr. Wolfe is a very compassionate Veterinarian. The practice however is expensive as I was constantly able to find drugs online at a cheaper price. I have a working dog (Czech Shepherd) that does wear a prong/ecollar. I was apprised by staff that she does not want dog owners to have their pets wear these while at her practice. Since I have over 40 years of experience training dogs in AKC, Shutzhund, Water Rescue, Service Dog, and Personal Protection, I found this position to be uninformed. When asking staff about her experience training dogs, her staff member replied she never has trained in any of the above stated endeavors. On one occasion, my dog was examined by a relief vet. This Veterinarian had extensive experience with "Working Dogs". This vets philosophy was contrary to the beliefs held by Dr. Wolfe. I would not recommend that you take a "Working Dog" to this vet. However, mindful of how expensive this practice is, I would have no problem taking a non-working dog to this clinic. read more

It just gets better and better with each visit! 30 years of having dogs and this is by far the very best vet I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. All my questions and concerns are answered and addressed immediately. Every staff member is kind and courteous. My moody little dachshund climbs right in to the arms of these girls and for him....that's a big deal. My big, slobbery American Bully is all over everyone just looking for pets and they give her every bit of love they can. They take their time and genuinely care. Hi everyone, I went to Granada Animal Hospital, Dr Shelby Wolfe after one person on nextdoor neighboorhood site recommended her. She is very good doctor but was expensive. I went to my doctor twice in week myself , had two test and was under $200 dollars for everything.(two visits , two tests) Granada for one dog visit, to clean her ears, check fetal sample, trim nails and apply claro otic to ear ended up costing $171.00 dollars!!! Most vets do not charge to trim nails if you are going for an appointment, exam ect. They charged $17 dollars for trim and my wife and I had to hold the dog. It was 76 just to clean ears and apply oitment. I will try other vet recomended next time. I cannot imagine if someone had three dogs and have to pay for vet bills. Why does it cost more for an animal then a human. Familys already are struggling here. read more

I have been a client for many years. I have 3 pets. I need to get nexgaurd for my dog. GAH doesnt Carry it..so I tried to get it from chewy...GAH doesnt deal with chewy or any online pharmacy. So I went to their pharmacy. The bill was 20 dollars more than chewy...gave me a hard time about getting the flea and tick control. The first incident was clipping buddy's nails. They normally charge 12 bucks but I was charge 30 for "each person that had to hold him down". And all that was done in another room. read more

Are you looking for a vet that will nickel and dime you over every procedure that they perform on your pet? Every product and medicine, also? Do you want a vet who refuses to deal with any outside pharmacy, even if you have used them for years? (They only want you to use the one they work with, therefore insuring them more profit. Their pharmacy consistently made errors but they argued that somehow we must have used the wrong pharmacy.) Actually, do want a clinic that just seems to enjoy arguing? Do you want to ask for an ongoing RX on December 8,and after they cancel appointments and cause you to jump through hoops, you finally receive the meds on Jan, 22. ( But only after the nationally known online pharmacy, you use, has to send you to a different vet to write the script.) Do you want an animal hospital that causes you to wait with bated breath , wondering which receptionist will take your call that day and what mood she might be in? (There is nothing warm and cozy about this bunch) Do you like getting your credit card statement only to find a charge they 'forgot ' to bill you for, was billed with neither your signature or authorization? Do you want a vet that will bold face lie to you? ( I received my pup's test, that I was anxiously awaiting for on Monday. Was told by the receptionist that although the doctor would have to go over the details, it looked really good to her. Only to have the Dr finally call on Thursday, unaware of my previous conversation and tell me that the test results had just arrived.) Do you want a vet, that after nervously asking about your fur babies surgery, replies "I can cut anything open.' (That is the bedside manner of Norman Bates not a loving pet doctor.) Do you want to be standing in an office, paying your bill, and have Shelby Wolf, the owner, just look over at you as if she had never seen you in her life. (Actually Shelby could build igloos in the desert.) Do you want an animal hospital that you can call, beg and plead for them to just take one second out of their life to look at the incision they performed and have them refuse. All you want is for them to just say ' looks good or make an appointment.' You are just told 'no, I am sure it is fine.' Do you want a vet that you are completely loyal to but do not get anything that resembles respect in return? Finally, if you want a vet, that after 3 years of bringing your giant dogs to without ever missing an appointment or going elsewhere for lower cost shots, send you a form letter that she does not think you have a good relationship with a staff member. ( When you call and and ask one of her "charming" receptionists, if you can talk to her, because you really do not know what the problem was with a form letter, she refuses. ) If this is the kind of service you want for your beloved pet and yourself, then Granada Animal Hospital is the place for you. However, if it is kindness and compassion you seek...if you want someone to love your 'baby' ALMOST as much as you do, then run....don't walk.... to ANYONE else. And there are quite a few other animal hospitals to choose from in this area. If you read their other reviews, not the ones they cherry pick, the real reviews you will notice that they are either very good. ( Those are the people who never dared to question them. I believe keeping our thoughts to ourselves for 3 years is a pretty good run.) The other reviews are all very bad. There really is no middle ground with these people. If you wonder why we stayed as long as we did....Dr. Whalen is the reason. Although there was one issue, I just did not understand (nor could anyone else.) she really is a good doctor. She is also a decent person. Although I wanted to leave this practice quite a while ago, my daughter really liked her. Hopefully she will eventually get out from under the tentacles of Shelby Wolf, and go out on her own someday. read more

Heart wrenching. Had to make a decision to put our dog to sleep. Scheduled the appointment. We were placed in a room. Left there for 1.5 hours agonizing over our decision. No updates until we physically went out and asked what was going on. A tech came in put a blanket down and said the doctor would be IN. Had our kids say their final goodbyes. Waited another 30 minutes. Then had a tech come in and Eventually tell us we had to reschedule due to emergency surgery in another room. You've now lost customers from the last 2 years as we are on our way to our old vet to put our dog to sleep with 3 crying kids in the car. Inconsiderate, heartless and inappropriate. You took an already horrible situation and made it so much worse. Their crappy customer service can't even contact us to apologize for their shoddy behavior. read more

This is a great place to bring your dog or cat. Dr. Smith has always treated all of our dogs over the years with great care and an eye on expenses. I would not go anywhere else. The kid was and companion when one of our dogs had to be let go was wonderful as well. Our family could not be happier with the service and the knowledge of Dr. Wolfe and Dr. Whalen. Our yellow lab puppy got very sick last year, and the doctors and the office staff were so helpful and informative getting him in and following up with us. Our puppy is doing great now - we just had a rowdy one year old visit, and Dr. Wolfe and the vet techs patiently waited for him to calm down enough to be examined and get his vaccinations just sitting on the floor. We also had him neutered by Dr. Whalen, and the office could not have been easier or more professional to deal with. We have never had a problem with prescriptions (and needed quite a few when he was so sick), and our puppy is so happy to walk in to the office. Highly recommend. read more

Drs. Wolfe and Whalen are extremely caring and compassionate. My Jack Russell mix was very ill a year ago with congestive heart failure. These doctors have her back to her old self with the medications that they prescribed. The whole team is very knowledgeable and caring. This is the best Veterinarian in Ormond Beach. They will tell you up front what they will do, and follow up every time. I am very comfortable in knowing that they are reliable and will take the best care of my pet. read more

Dr. Smith owned this for years but he retired and sold the practice to Dr. Shelby Wolf. Dr Wolf is the most caring, compassionate, knowledgeable vet that I have known. We have two Husky's and two cats, and one of the husky's got a tumorous cancer. Dr. Wolf operated on him, removed the tumor, and he is recovering. Before the sugary she sat with us and explained all the positive and negatives of the surgery. She performed the procedure the day before hurricane Matthew hit. We had a small issue with him a couple days after the hurricane and even though there was no power at her office or home she left home and met us. In the lobby of her office, again without any power, she examined him and was able to correct the issue and did not charge us a thing. How many vets would leave home and open her office and do this? She is an angel! If you are considering a vet for your four legged family member, I do not think you will find a better person than Dr. Wolf. read more

Wish I would have found Dr Smith earlier I might not have lost a dog that several other Vets failed to diagnose correctly.
