Initial visit: The clinical staff were wonderful. Dr. Olivia is one of the best. She recognized a significant misdiagnosis and corrected the previous care plan. The tech. treated both my dogs with love and affection. The office staff that I had the most interaction with was engaged, knowlegeable and listened. Phone communications were polite, timely and informative. This however feels like an off site ownership. In my opinion these usually have operational guidelines set up that are impersonal, more expensive, not flexable and not in line with the community they serve. I want this to be our place for animal care, but price also has to be considered. We will see. I will update after the 6 month visit. read more

Even if you do not see the vet regularly, meaning you go to the Humane Society for yearly shots and Wellnes checks, you should be able to get into see your vet when your pet is urgently ill. I was told by the person answering the phone that they were too busy caring for the people that see them regularly. My dog was ill they refused treatment. Dominique, I am a female rescue who used to enjoy this clinic until we realized they were only about making money and caring about me. They over charge for the med's they supply as well as always asking for my visits every 6-months even though nothing is wrong. The vet's are very nice, as are the tech's, but thew support staff is not about customer care. Ever try getting a prescription to buy off of Chewy? They love to say ok, then deny. I have read so many bad review about this clinic I don't understand why the Vet's have not listen and taken action. Or why the Veterinarian Board of Florida has not withdrawn their certification to practice. After taking my female cat for an ear infection not only was it miss treated and miss handled by their handler it was also misdiagnosed when I had taken my cat out of state and needed more Transderm they would not honor that I was just there only a few months ago telling me to go to another vet to get the medication that I was already prescribed for.. upon a new evaluation the season doctor did notice that the bacteria that was found in your ear their treatment alone would not have any beneficial results as it needed more treatment such as a Covina shot that the Treasderm alone would not cure the situation she had.... Not only did they deny me of a medication that I was clearly should've been able to order online since I was just in their office they wanted to make it harder on me and my cat by making me go to another veterinarian.. I strongly urge you not to go since the doctor used to run this organization of left it's been hit and miss if you don't mind spending hundreds of dollars on a misdiagnosis and having someone miss handle a very soft and loving cat like it's a rabit animal I would highly recommend you look elsewhere.. The doctor in New Jersey also noticed that my cat has a polyp in the bottom of his ear which he showed me through his scope... very unprofessional staff very unprofessional doctor to lead me down hundreds of dollars in a misdiagnosis over something as easy as knowing what bacterias respond to what medications is elementary science... Brought 3 dogs there. Lost all 3 within 2 weeks I lost 2 that should have been put down they filled me with b.s. of false hope to get money. It cost more to try to save the dog. 3 rd one my girlfriend's dog. Had a cut on a dew claw they they stitched it knowing it hit a vein. My dog bled out. Another vet was going to try to save him. I have been using this vet for a few years, but I have been dissatisfied with the office staff on most occasions. The vet and techs are great, which along with continuity of care is the reason I have stayed with them for so long. The only complaint I have about the vet is that when they write a prescription for my dog (who has frequent ear infections) they do not honor the refills on the prescription (even though it says I have 2 refills on the bottle). I have to pay for an office visit each time I need his prescription filled. So if you have a pet who needs frequent prescriptions, I do not recommend this office. read more

I'm new to the Palm Coast area. My Shih Tzu has always been treated at Shelton Veterinarian Clinic in Elkton since I first got him as a puppy in 2016. My experience with the Clinic in Elkton was superb. They always took very good care of my baby, I was always present for my baby check ups during the pandemic as long as I had my mask on, and they were very careful to space out the appointments. I never had any problems or have to wait a long time for them to come and get my dog whenever I needed to board him. I thought that I was going to get the same treatment for him at the Shelton Veterinarian Clinic in Bunell, but I had a bad vibe this last weekend. I needed to board my dog so I called to make the usual appointment for it. It was very disappointing to see that they don't share any information internally via computer. I had to call myself the Elkton Clinic for them to send my Shih Tzu's records, as the clinic here told me that I needed to do it, even though they shared the same name and I think ownership. Nevertheless, I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since my experience with the Elkton clinic was great. Well, I took my baby after 8 am for boarding as they told me. I got there, called, and I waited over 30 minutes outside before one of the staff came to get him, mind you very unprepared with the paperwork. They should have had everything ready since I made the call to the other clinic ahead of time for them to send the records, and they knew I was coming. That was a first for me. When I went to get my baby this last Monday, Nov. 1st, 21, I had to wait almost 45 minutes for them to bring me my dog to the car. While I was there, the lady in the car next to mine had brought her Maltese for a vet wellness visit. I was very surprised that they made her wait in the car while the vet check her dog, something that would never had happened at the Clinic Shelton has in Elkton. I don't know what the parents that are reading this think, but my baby is my family, and no one can deny me to be with him while he goes for a vet visit. All this has made me re-think whether I want the vets at the Shelton Veterinarian Clinic in Bunell to be the ones caring for my Shih Tzu, and I think I need to find a new doctor for him because the Shelton Clinic in Elkton is kind of far for me, and this one here in Bunell does not sit well with the kind of care that my dog is used to, or that I want for my dog. So, if this posting is helpful for you, I will recommend that you think twice and long about making this Shelton Veterinarian Clinic here in Bunnell the first choice for your dog. read more

We lost our beagle almost a month ago in DeLand. The vet from Shelton Veterinary Clinic found Lucy in the middle of the road on 304. He brought Lucy to the Clinic, cleaned her up and called the shelter to see if anyone had lost a dog. They posted on Lost Pets of Volusia and Flagler and Tessa Fannin saw the post and contacted us with a copy of the photo. We immediately thought it was Lucy and drove to get her this morning. After being broken hearted and weeks of crying we were reunited. Had a special appointment this morning to take my dog (Sadie) in to see the vet for an ear infection. I have been going to Shelton vet clinic for years with my dogs Sadie (terrier) and Zoie (boxer). Sadie has been seeing them for the past 6-8 years with a perpetual ear infection. We went through years of them telling me it was her food so we tested a multitude of different foods to finally resolve to the fact that she just has allergies. I cannot put into words how frustrated I have been with these ongoing ear infections. I have explained that the medications they give me just do not stop the infections and they keep giving me the same meds each time I go. They only give me enough of the meds to barely reduce the swelling. I don't know who the vet was this morning (first time I have ever seen her) she spoke to me as if I did not take care of my dog. I do not have alot of money but I do what I can to take care of my animals and make sure their needs are met. She informed me that her ears were so bad that they were basically not treatable. That nearly sent me through the roof. Every time for the past 5 years that I have taken Sadie into that clinic her ears were identical to what they were this morning. NOW THEY ARE NOT TREATABLE????? Now for some reason I need to pay all of this money for some test to determine what med we should give her. I felt like I was a bother to this special vet lady. I felt like my questions irritated her but she was more than willing to put together a 400.00 treatment plan for ears that are no longer treatable. I was so upset with the way she treated me that I had to walk out before I did something I would regret. I would like to know why I was not offered a "special drug test" 5 years ago when it was obvious the 100.00 cleaners and antibiotics were not working. I had this concern and questioned this last year and was told, lets try another med she is most likely immune to the one we have been giving her. She was upset about her ear canal being hard, well news flash lady, those ear canals have been hard sense the first time you treated her ear infection. Why wasn't it a big deal then. I did not appreciate this women's treatment and handling of my pets needs, she needs to find a job she likes because she clearly displayed frustration and being bothered this morning. She also cost the clinic a client, sadly, I will not risk ever having her see my animals again!!! So I paid $76.00 to see this women frustration with her job and my pet did not get any medications for the ear infection because now after 8 years of treating the same exact ear infection, they don't know what to give her??? read more
