This place is very good. The staff is personable. The ambiance is amazing from the open grills you pass was you walk in to the garden seating with checked table cloths. Finally, this is a grilled meat lovers paradise.

    Menu with English

Our local tour guide Martin brought us visited this truly authentic local restaurant. Indeed needs someone to communicated with server Augusto because he knows some English. Outside seating : The weather is nice and total of nine of us ordered beef chorizo and sausage, salad, bread is free and water needs to pay. Food is so good and we cleaned up the plates totally. I even asked for the purple cabbage salad as extra side dish because is so refresh to the mouth. As a tourist: This place is definitely worth to go into the list to visit. We all enjoyed a relax noon meal . Augusto is the server helped us to ordered these such yummy food to enjoyed. This made all of us as Happy customers.

Busy location. You can go in and sit down or you can order from a window and wait for your food. I ordered from the window. Its a very busy street where its located and the wait is a little long. I ordered a choripan. I loved it, the salty, smoky chorizo on a fresh bun. I topped it with chimichurri sauce and I couldn't stop eating it.

This review was supposed to be a shiny 5-star, but we went in on two separate occasions and they just went downhill. ATMOSPHERE: You're literally eating in someone's backyard on temporary tables and chairs either under the covered patio next to the house or on the grass/gravel lot. A huge barbecue grill at the front is a great showcase and emits obnoxious amounts of smoke onto the sidewalk which draws in the people while leaving an indelible scent on your person. A live singer serenaded us with Spanish music. Hopefully you won't be greeted with an "all full sign" as we were on our second day due to its popularity. If so, try and put your name in with one of the staff though there was no organization whatsoever. MENU: Salads, barbecued meats and poultry, desserts. Good selection of wine and beer. TAKEOUT FOOD: Chorizo Sandwich - $3. We walked in to the place and just did takeout on this cheap, absolutely tasty sandwich. Definitely 5 stars. IN-HOUSE FOOD (NEXT DAY): Cerveza Cristal - $6. We ordered a liter of the local brew which was smooth and very affordable. Carne Empanada - $1.50 each. My favorite Argentinian food never came to the table. Very disappointed! Our Salad - $6. A small dish of arugula, mixed greens, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese were tossed in a balsamic dressing. Very mainstream. Provolone Cheese with Mushrooms & Onions - $8. Ooey gooey? Nope. The skillet of cheese sat somewhere and was delivered coagulated, almost cold and hard. Come on!? Complete Barbecue - $25 for two. A portable charcoal-heated grill-pan arrived with chorizo, blood sausage, ribs, flank steak and chicken. Missing were the kidney, intestines and pork. We informed them about the kidney which was brought separately, nixed the intestines and totally forgot about the pork. The steak and chicken were dry and over cooked, the ribs were super fatty. This was my first try at kidney and it was pretty good! The best of them all was the single chorizo. SERVICE: Dreadfully slow and really non-existent. The locals seemed to be well taken care of though. One female worker who we waved over acknowledged us but never returned. The only person who helped us was the cashier/host who brought us utensils and who we informed of the missing empanadas. Everyone else was too busy servicing other tables. TIPS: They have a "cover charge" of $1 per table. Why? Cash only, USD accepted. Their proudly posted WiFi password didn't work. OVERALL: Dry barbecue, horrible service, incomplete orders. Do takeout and leave!

We were directed to our table for the wine tasting by friendly staff, it was nice because it was just my husband and I. Our sommelier Javier was answered all our questions about Argentinian wines, and patient since both my husband and I were semi new to wines, also it didn't help that my husband was a bit tipsy from being at a brewery before we went for the tasting. The pours for the tasting was more than expected and not sure if it's because it was only two of us but we got a second pour for each type of wine. I ended up tipsy since my husband didn't drink the second pour. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and we bought a bottle recommended by Javier, that we will open for a special occasion soon. Will definitely come back for a romantic dinner next time we're in town, because this restaurant would be a perfect place to have a date, loved the setting, and the numerous types of wines.

If you're wanting the traditional 'parrilla' experience, keep looking. I loved it though! The service is fantastic. It seemed we had our very own person who looked after us. We started with a foie gras that was out off this world! I couldn't put my finger on a certain taste, until I tried a little dab of the sprinklings on the top. I thought it was shaved truffles, but it was actually a bittersweet chocolate! Never had that combination before, but it totally worked!! The salad was a little random for a Cesar, but we were fairly warned. The steak ( only one on the menu I believe) was outstanding! Evidently, you don't need to dine at a noisy brightly lit parrilla to get a good steak! Ask to see their wine "cellar"! We enjoyed every minute and every bite!

If you don't see anyone, try ringing the doorbell to the right. We stopped by on a Friday night without a reservation and the place was fully booked, but the restaurant was able to rustle up a couple extra stools and seat us at the back bar. We were then invited to sit at the main bar when enough places opened up. The staff really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. When they noticed us puzzling over the Spanish menus, they quickly rounded up some English translations. The cocktail menu, though, is in Spanish only, and Google translate wasn't much help. Noticing our distress, the bartender, who spoke excellent English, explained that the menu titles were Argentine slang words and happily explained the sense of the groupings. He then helped us pick some great unique cocktails based on what we told him we liked. All of the food was great. My favorite was the roasted tomato side, which also included broccoli and some kind of crunch topping. I wish all veggies tasted this good! The lamb empanadas offered a gourmet twist on a classic Argentine staple. The melted Camembert with grapefruit and tomatoes, while not my favorite, was refreshingly different. A word of warning: the "platitos", meaning little plates, aren't like the little tapas back home. Be careful not to over-order. I'd start with one platito and one side and go from there. Sit at the bar if you want to meet some of the locals!

I had two drinks one with grape juice honey and vodka and another one a bloody Mary like with grilled tomatoes and beets. The bartenders and overall staff were amazing, caring and dropped their current task to serve beers and cocktails or food. That grabbed our attention. Patrons were utmost importance. Even hostess went out of her way from arrival to departure she was so nice. The place is not cheap but very well worth it. Good value for the night. If I get picky I think DJs could play songs w actual lyrics current or older popular bands not just elektronica. Restrooms clean as they can be. There is a semi open terrace 3rd floor that is nice too. But we spent the night on main bar second floor. Also great semi open kitchen to watch plates go out. I definitely would be back. Good value!
