Extremely unimpressed with the service here. I called and was told my item had arrived and was ready for pick up only to drive half and hour and be told that even though my item was there i could not take it because their "system" was down. Having already scheduled with the customer to install the item I was picking up I pleaded with the sales manager, Scott, to no avail. Its in a whole other league than Home Depot. Location may be a bit awkward to get to; but there's parking; and inside the store is simply galaxies of tools, parts, and equipment. the reviewer who said "inside the store is simply galaxies of tools, parts, and equipment" - i don't know what he was talking about ! i went there, it was one room with a few small tools for sale, all overpriced. the notion of even comparing that place to Home Depot is a sick joke. now, they did have a guy with a HUGE catalog of stuff that you can buy from grainger website, and you can pick it up at this store for free without paying for shipping - so that's cool. the guy was polite and helpful and answered all my questions, also i was the only customer there so that was nice. i wouldn't call it a store, it's more like an office with a warehouse in the back that is part of the grainger.com system of warehouses where you can order stuff from a catalog or site ... but i cannot stress this enough - THIS PLACE IS NOTHING LIKE HOME DEPOT or even a smaller hardware store like Doody, and what few items they actually do have on the shelf ( a few hammers, pliers, tape measures ) are nearly double the price of what the exact same items cost in Home Depot. anyway, i'm not knocking the place - i'm knocking the other reviewer who seems to live in an alternate reality. read more

worst comapny ever Grainger is a company that has zero customer service skills or phone etiquette. I placed an order with this company. The customer service representative that I was talking with was not professional and nice at all. In fact , the customer service agent was damn right rude. The representative didn't even write my down my full details where to send the package . The next day I called back Grainger . I wanted to make sure that they had the right details. This representative was even ruder than the first one and made me feel as though it was my fault they were in competent. My patience was running out. However, this representative I thought did take the proper information that the first representative didn't which was my full correct shipping detail. So, I thought all was good, and I was going to receive the package. I waited a until Monday, and still no package. I checked with my doorman, and USPS . No one had a package or delivered a package to my address. They reassured me nothing was delivered. Therefore, I called the company again! To my surprise , the representative was ruder than the other two customer representatives I spoke with prior . this representative told me that in his system it shows that I received the package and in his own words " go find your package " , like I was laying about not receiving the package. After checking again with my doorman I called again . the new representative informed me that the package indeed was shipped and was returned to them because the full shipping details like apartment number and my full name wasn't on the shipping label. And he also made me feel as though it was my fault they were in competencies. Furthermore, the representative informed me that in order for me to receive this package, I needed to repurchase the items because the company policy on return packages is to credit the items . Doesn't matter the as come to my bank account it will take 2-3 days for them to see the credit so I need to pay doable for the same order that I already paid for . I tried to explained him that I can put this order again on my card as it will exceed my credit limit he didn't care about anything he was downright rude , and impolite. So now, my anger was building. I asked to speak with the manager . I held on the phone for 27 minutes. Finally, I was transferred. You got it. I was transferred to a voice mail, not even a live person. Obviously I didn't receive any call back. I called again just to find out from a new representative that in order correct my address I need to go all the way to other side of the city and do it over there . Because of this experience, I will never buy from Grainger again , and I warn anyone who is considering upon purchasing anything. It is not worth the aggravation! As someone who does kashering, I need heat proof gloves that can withstand high temperatures. Kashering entails handling glowing red hot coals, blowtorches, MAP gas, and immersing vessels in boiling water. I need both waterproof heat-resistant gloves, and also gloves with which I can handle temperatures of as much as 1000 degrees. Grainger was the place to find both these items, although my only disappointment was that the store didn't really have any high heat gloves in stock. However, they ordered them and had them sent to my home, which was highly convenient. I found the staff helpful, although the selection of in-store items could be improved. read more
