I only shopped for flooring here but didn't go through with placing an order, so I can only comment on my experience in stores and nothing else. I really wish I remembered the name of the worker who helped me but he was a tall, dark, 40ish year old man if that narrows it down. He was so knowledgeable about the different types of wood flooring and was so eager to help. He probably spent about an hour with us. I really wanted to place an order because of him but the smart thing for me to do was to keep shopping around before going all in. I was able to find even lighter wood flooring at the shop next door, so I ended up going with them instead. read more

You get what you pay for and in my case, even less. I bought some flooring on 7/13/24. I brought it home and was supposed to have it installed by someone else. I was told by my contractor that the floor I bought would buckle with temperature changes. I was instructed to get a floor that was waterproof and not flexible. I call LL flooring and ask about the return policy. They told me that they are rebranding and will no longer be called LL Flooring but lumber liquidators instead and they are cannot lookup orders for exchanges. The policy on their website is a 90 days for exchanges or returns. I'm within the 90 day window. The next day they change the policy online. I decide to put the flooring in my car to take it back. I looked up the store hours to make sure they were open and they were closed on 10/6/24. I filed a dispute with my credit card. I also heard that they change the connecting mechanism of the tiles every 5-10 years. So when you look for 1-2 pieces to replace, you have the replace the whole floor. If you buy from them make sure you keep 2-3 extra boxes in storage ready for that day. read more

It's unfortunate that some reviewers have had a difficult time with Lumber Liquidators, but I've only been happy with the service I've received here and at the Yonkers location. It's very easy to get samples from the store, or online, if you'd like to see it in person before buying. Admittedly I would call myself an "informed buyer" as I've definitely checked out the website prior to going in person, and already have some ideas in mind of what I'd like to see before I show up. Either way, every person I've dealt with has been knowledgeable about the floors I've been interested in seeing. Thus far, I've done one room in my house with their Rigid Vinyl Plank line called CoreLux XD, and I just bought more to do another room. I've been rather pleased with the product - it looks good, has been pretty durable, and is actually waterproof (the water test was neither intended nor planned, but thankfully it lived up to all expectations!). read more

The store manager on 12th street is really helpful, and I was mostly happy with my install. The corporate office is useless at their job - they didn't send me any of the prep information for my flooring until after the job had been done. The original install team did an overall meticulous job (though I had a few very dented pieces of wood). However, there was a section at the top of my stairs that needed to be redone and the installer sent that time was NOT good at his job. He installed the stair nose completely crooked so that on one end it comes up higher than the floor and then it angles down and hits below the floor. there were also two big gauges in the wood. I regret not keeping the original cracked nose since at least that was installed evenly and the gauges in the wood are atrocious . This is the fault of the worker more than the store, but it leads me to believe they have a mix of really competent/efficient crew and I guess some installers who apparently couldn't care less about if they do a garbage job. I'm supposed to be having them come back to do an estimate on my basement because I appreciated the great job they did on Most of the house , but the terrible and neglectful job the guy did yesterday is making me hesitant because I don't want him touching any more of my flooring. I would rate the sales team at the actual store as 5 stars - they are awesome . But looking at the garbage job that got done yesterday makes me want to cry . read more

I had such a wonderful experience here. They're a persistent bunch once you visit the store for samples, but the quality of customer service is bar none. And, they're a knowledgable bunch, too. After shopping at the big box stores and a few other flooring retailers, I was convinced that I had to return to this location for the product, service and price. I should mention that I received a curbside delivery, and though I wasn't satisfied with one of my purchases, Dean and his team kept in touch with me until they were able to make good on things. This is most definitely the last Time I do business with lumber Liquidators I ordered 1000sqt of Laminate and 300 sqt of tile and it was a complete nightmare. I was assured that the material would be all together and there for this past Friday, they had me go to Staten Island location and lic location to pick up what was less than half the order. The remainder.. they still do not have In stock and I am now being told it will be Friday. This was a bait in switch to make a sale. Needless to say my contractor charged me for a partial day. We drove down to the Brooklyn location after having an associate tell me over the phone that they had 400 square feet of Cinnamon Maple wood. We asked the guy on the phone to put aside an order for us. When we arrived while they kept looking, they had us waiting for 45 minutes. We were then told the item was no where to be found. This message was also delivered by the most apathetic individual I have ever met. Obviously we were pretty unhappy about the experience and asked if he could accommodate us or honor some sort of employee discount on our purchase on another item (to salvage this wasted shopping trip from Upstate NY to Brooklyn NYC) To which he responded that he (the supposed manager of the store) doesn't even use/buy their wood floors. it became apparent that the staff absolutely did not care. The manager then advised us to shop at Lowe's, which is conveniently down the street. Update: March 3rd 2015 This company has been exposed and is under investigation. As it turns out they are utilizing dangerous levels of cancer causing formaldehyde. I would reconsider making any purchases at this store as you would be directly endorsing their unethical materials and putting yourself and your family in harms way. read more

One of the worse stores to buy wood floor, your better off going to Home Depot or any other place with good customer service. I never even write reviews for places unless it's food related but I really had to write this one. I came into this store with my family to buy wood floor for our new house. Apparently they were having a "sale", so we went to check out their selections. The guy that works in the store showed us what was on sale. We found a Brazilian Oak Wood that we liked and that was on sale. On the display in the store, it showed the price tag as $2.96 per piece. We thought this was great considering it was oak wood. When we went to purchase the wood floor, it was never mentioned that the price that was on display was not the actual price. Apparently that price was for a sale during the month of March and April and the actual price was $3.46. Clearly, this is false advertisement. The only way I caught this on was when they e-mailed me the invoice after I purchased the wood in store and found a mistake they made for my home address. When I called to speak about the mistake they made, the same gentleman that I saw in the store answered. He was very unprofessional and was getting an attitude, even though it was their mistake. After spending at least 15-20 minutes on the phone, he spoke to his manager and said they will send a new invoice with the price that was written on the display. It's ridiculous how they made it seem like we were aware of the price when we weren't and then have the discounted price on for display in the sale section when it wasn't the correct price! To make matters worse, I purchased 705 pieces of the oak wood which was basically everything they had on stock. And not once did they mention that they did not have all of the oak wood in their store. So, I had to make a trip to Long Island city to their other location, which is so inconvenient since I live in Brooklyn, to pick up the rest of my oak wood. The next day, I hired people to install the oak wood in my new place. When the worker started putting on the wood, he noticed a lot of wood was scratched up, damaged or had missing ends. Before buying the oak wood, we were supposed to be told that we were purchasing an "odd lot" which means there are higher chances of the wood being defected. The defects include splits, missing finish, short boards, missing tongues, rough finish, and open knots (according to their website). We were never ever told any of this information and besides myself, there were 3 people with me in the store to buy the wood floor. If I would have "forgotten" that information, there were 3 other people that would remembered, but since they NEVER told us, we did not even know. I called the store to let them know some of the oak wood pieces were defected and the same guy from the store answered the phone and was being an asshole claiming he told us before purchasing the wood that this could happen. This was he clearly bullshit because he didn't mention anything in the store. Also, he wasn't the one that completed our transaction for the wood oak floor purchase. Once again, false advertisement and disgusting and unprofessional behavior. If I am paying money, especially over $2000, I expect to get good quality wood floor. It does not make sense for me to take a chance and spent my money on wood that could be possibly defected. If that was said from the beginning BEFORE I bough the oak wood, I would have not bought it. I'd rather go to Home Depot where I can get a full refund or exchange if I had any defected item. Clearly, this store does not run on professionalism or stay true to whatever description they have written in the store. I wish I can rate this place as zero. The guy that works in the store needs an attitude adjustment or probably should never work with customers because he clearly does not how customer service works. Lying and false advertisement does not get you anywhere but a bad review. I hope you guys take this advice and manage the store better by providing customers with ALL THE CORRECT INFORMATION before they purchase an item. I like the store layout, the wide array of flooring options and enticing price points per sq. ft but the on-line reviews are horror stories that leave me seriously skeptical to purchase. They were more than patient with me and my delivery constraints than I ever would have expected as I took forever allowing them to deliver since we were under construction. Needed some inexpensive molding for a renovation project. Home Depot on 23rd didn't have what I needed in stock. Lumber Liquidators had the product I wanted at the lowest price I could find, with reasonable delivery charges. My items arrived at my house on time. Actually, TWO packages arrived at my house on time: mine, and someone else's (much nicer) molding. I called customer service, in case another customer was frantically awaiting their nice hardwood molding - but the guy on the phone had a hard time figuring out what I was talking about, and then asked me to bring the items I didn't want back to Brooklyn, myself. Uh, no. The reason I paid for delivery is so I wouldn't actually have to carry giant boxes of wood through the subway system. Well, now I have an extra box of molding that may possibly... just possibly... come in useful some day. Or not. read more

Stay clear of this location! I spent close to $5,000 on floor and materials once the credit card was swiped the terrible customer service started. They are unprofessional, disorganized and rude at this location. I was offered free shipping then they changed their mind the day of delivery and tried to charge me! I had to call customer service to get my floors delivered has they held them hostage. The sold me the most expensive underlayment for the floors, which I found out later from my contractor, was not even useable with the floors they sold me. They then gave me the run around for 2 weeks to return the underlayment--offering me a store credit! What the hell am I supposed to do with a $400 store credit for a store I would NEVER SHOP AT AGAIN!?!?! Don't do it...just walk away. Go somewhere else. What a headache! The salesperson was super patient and helped us figure out the matching wood. They didn't end up having it in the size we wanted, so he suggested 3 other stores in the area that might have it. Even after I came back and wanted to exchange it for a different one, they were more than happy to help and laid out all the options I had. DO NOT go to Lumber Liquidators. While the prices are decent, but they have terrible customer service that will hold up your project. (they told me (twice) that things were in stock and then just before delivery told me that they weren't ready) More importantly, a week after my bedroom floor was installed it changed color in the sunlight where I had an area rug. I complained and they claimed that it was naturally occurring patina (which is something that happens over time, not in a week!) and that it wasn't under warranty. My contractor also complained that the wood that came had lots of short boards but very few long boards compared to other companies. read more

The only reason that the store gets any stars is because the quality of the laminate floors we got for the price we paid is actually pretty good. But nothing else is of "quality" there, especially the customer service. Expect to wait for your floors for a week or two and then, when they finally arrive to their warehouse, get sold the wrong floors (and when picking them up you ask the person working the warehouse to check against your receipt, expect a nod and "yeah, they are yours" response). Once you do two trips (in a small car) to pick up all the floors, expect to get a call from LL rep saying he has people standing there waiting to pick up their floors, which, apparently, are in your house and YOU have to bring back. No offer to send a truck to pick them up...No offer to pay for gas to make another two trips. And NO apology! This is exactly what happened to us and, the conversation we had to have with a manager (or at least he told us he was the manager) was very unpleasant. Luckily, people whose floors we had were driving a minivan and agreed to pick up our floors and drive them to our house to exchange for theirs. We had a nice "transaction", but both parties felt like LL did not lift a finger to help resolve the situation they put their customers in. We will not be dealing with LL again simply because we do not feel their staff has any customer service skills. We understand that this happened before Easter Sunday and they all wanted to go home for the day, but to accuse a customer you sold wrong floors to of holding the floors "hostage" and demanding they bring them back without offering anything (gas payment etc) while it was your staff's error - is simply inexcusable. read more

This was our second time going to this Lumber Liquidators, and our second time working with Shakim. Being in sales most of our lives my wife and I were very impressed with Shakim's attitude, demeanor, patience, and willingness to help us find exactly what we needed without us feeling pressured or pushed one way or the other. I had a great experience here. I needed flooring for a commercial space and Francisco patiently talked through all the options with me. In fact everyone I spoke with there was helpful and knowledgeable. I never got a "hard sell" either. The engineered bamboo flooring is in and it looks great. Highly recommend checking this place out. OK, I give them one more star for resolving my issue with them. With much pushing and calls and time, LL was willing to settle when I requested arbitration through the BBB. It was a hassle and could have been avoided by a somewhat fair compensatory offer from the beginning. The Brazilian Cherry flooring stabilized and stopped spotting after a certain point and that was a big relief also. Hope LL learns and stops using cheap Chinese labor and processing because they could be a much better company with better quality. read more
