They lack integrity and respect for their customers. While on a road trip, my wipers stopped working due to a broken part only available through a Honda dealer. I prepaid for the part 2 days in advance so they could order it, and scheduled the first appointment in the morning to have it installed (7:40 am). When it became apparent they were in no hurry to get it fixed (and kept trying to get me to look at new cars - 3 calls within 1 hour), and said they might not finish the job until 5pm, I asked for the part so I could take it somewhere else and get on the road. The general manager said that he wouldn't give me the part. Which I had already paid for! Finally, they gave me the part. I drove to Meineke and it was fixed in 30 minutes. I've had my CRV at Grainger honda two times in the past three weeks for the exact same problem. First time was $150 tow and $400 and something dollars worth of repairs, second time was $130 tow and $200 and something dollars in repairs and now I'm sitting on the side of the road again. When I call all they can say is "well have it towed back here and we'll see what's going on"... Really? I've given you almost $1000 and the problem is still occurring? I would think a dealership would be a little more competent than that, that's why I brought it here to begin with but boy was I wrong! My vehicle will never come back there, and I will advise anybody who wants to listen to not do the same. I guess unless you're buying a new car from them, you don't count. Customer service has become nonexistent in this world and it's truly sad! I did contact service manager and yes repair amounts were approximately $740 but 2 tows are $270 which I'm out over them not fixing the problem the 1st time. They are now trying to say that what the problem is now was caused by what they had to repair...if that were true, how did I know about the problem the very 1st time I had it towed to them and have the text with service advisor to prove. Not going to keep going round with them....just Ms. Service Manager....don't try to make people look like they're lying and didn't get screwed over by you all when proof is in the text & receipts. Not happy to have to take it back in, I tell the guy we just had it in, surely they had notice of the recall before we did. I have been to this dealership several times now for various reasons. Every time it was always just ok, in comparison to other nearby Honda dealerships, but it's the closest one to my house so I kept coming back. My most recent experience here was truly baffling. They are really living up to the "let's take advantage the woman since she doesn't know what is going on" stereotype. I am the first person to say this is an OUTDATED practice, and I have never felt this way at a car dealership before. My story starts on a Saturday morning, I noticed I had a large crack on my windshield. I called the insurance company who referred me to a glass shop on Derenne in Savannah. I was told by the insurance company that the car would have to be recalibrated after the windshield was replaced. The glass shop I was referred to does not do calibrations, and recommended I called the dealership. I scheduled an appointment for the next morning, and was told this appointment "would not take that long and would not cost that much" when I asked those questions. I arrived at Grainer Honda 20 minutes before my appointment time and was greeted by Corey (might have been spelt Korry). He was friendly enough, but was unsure of what I was there for and grabbed the Service Manager, Steve. He advised the appointment could take up to 3 hours, and was going to cost UPWARDS of $350; a minimum of $160 per hour for the labor alone. I told him that I didn't want to pay that, and he shrugged. I asked the men to give me a few minutes to figure out if my insurance would cover it. After that was settled, Korry reviewed a piece of paper with me of their recalibration policy, and let me know since the glass shop installed an after market windshield, there was a chance the safety features might not work. A few moments later, Steve returned and abruptly handed me said paper without any words. At this point, my fiancé got involved. I wasn't going to pat $350+ for them to maybe fix the safety features, that's more than my monthly car payment is. Steve drew up a quote of over $1,800 for Honda to replace the windshield and the recalibration. Trying to convince us to do this there, he said they "see this kind of thing all the time" and that "we should never trust a non dealership for service." We called the glass shop who convinced the insurance company to pay for the installation of the Honda branded windshield. Steve said to call them back when the windshield was in, and he would get me right in for an appointment for a calibration. All seemed well with my situation. However, when we went back to the glass shop and told them what the plan was with Grainer Honda, the manager of the shop said something didn't seem right. She called another dealership in Savannah who stated the standard cost for a calibration is $245 and it is an 45 minute service. We called Grainer and they would not match that price and stood by charging us $160 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours for the calibration. The other dealership also told us that the type of windshield that was installed was not compatible with the safety features, so they would not do the calibration regardless. Steve and Grainger Honda knew this, and were so prepared to charge me $350 for a fake service. I will never return or recommend this dealership. Not for sales, and especially not for service. Parts and services are horrendous. I had an appt for routine oil change first thing in the morning and was told when I arrived the wait would be over 5 hours. I had my two toddlers with me since I assumed it would be a short wait with an appointment. They don't offer any complimentary food or drinks besides popcorn. It is pitiful. My husband had to call out of work to pick us up. It took 4 separate visits to get a cracked light cover on the ceiling replaced. They kept telling me "we are ordering the part now. come back in a few days, just swing by and we'll pop in the new piece." Every time I returned it's like nobody knew what I was talking about. Services and parts clearly don't communicate, or parts department is dropping the ball. I had to call every day after the 4th attempt to get this replaced (6 months later) and it finally got done. Another instance they didn't honor my dad's road hazard when his Honda Pilot got a nail in the tire so he had to go to the other Honda dealership in town. (They were phenomenal). Another instance Grainger Honda kept my dad's car overnight to fix an electrical issue, told him it would be done the next day. Then the next day said that they didn't have the part and it wouldn't be in for a few days (he was just here for the weekend, so keeping the car in the shop for a few days wasn't an option). They then tried to charge him for diagnostics when we said we couldn't wait a few days since he was leaving town. I only continue to go here because I still get free oil changes. Will never buy another vehicle from them. Everyone beware. read more

Their excuse is that they are always short handed. This doesn't happen at Southern Motors in Savannah. When you schedule an appointment with them, they get you in at that time. I have never bought a car at a dealership because I've always paid cash and my little Mom would always do the research because I was too busy running my company. That's why, when it came time to replace the lemon I bought when I first moved to Georgia I was extremely apprehensive because you always hear bad stories of dealers charging you more than the car should be, bad financing terms and pushy salesmen. Having been in sales most of my life I figured the more knowledge I had on what the value of my trade-in is, the better for negotiating purposes. I was still trying to decide between fixing my lemon or replacing it all together. After showing the car to a master mechanic and another local repair shop and then sharing the results with my mechanic back home, it was a no-brainer decision this car had to go and I needed to bite the bullet to buy a different one. Based on my son's advice who said most millionaires drive cars valued at 10k or less and not really wanting a large car payment or the fanciest of cars, that's what I decide to use as my guide. I then took my car to a few places to get the trade-in value they would offer me and discovered a range that I thought was fair. Armed with all this information, I went to Grainger Honda because a local friend highly recommended their service. I think sometimes male car salesmen think that women like fancy cars and I would be easy to push into a higher priced vehicle, but that's not me. Give me something reliable and decent and I'm happy. Because I had a Honda Element, the salesmen thought I would want another SUV and initially I was resistant because I thought I would want something smaller. However, after driving the Kia Soul he offered me, I realized he was right. It was the perfect size and ultra cute, but the best part was it has excellent ratings across the board and will also be super reliable which is my main priority. I love road trips and have many trips planned back here to explore new areas which is why I wanted the Honda Element. However, once I had it I realized I'm not a vanlife girl, I'm a hotel with amenities girl. That's why I was a little resistant to another SUV-style car, but my salesman, Wesley, knew me better than I know myself! Sometimes all the research in the world doesn't stop you from being afraid to take the leap of faith needed. That's what my salesman gave me. The extra push because he knew I would be happy even when I didn't know it myself! I don't even remember his name which is terrible, but I think it's Wesley if memory holds true. Really patient and has been selling cars for years. Now here's where I really got nervous, the financing part. Being new to GA and having limited income as I search for additional work here, I didn't think I would qualify for anything to be honest. HOWEVER, GEORGE ODOM IS A MIRACLE WORKER!!!! He got me financed through my credit card company because I've been faithfully paying to ensure my credit score is raised to qualify for a house and all my hard work paid off! After a few companies turned me down, George was willing to increase the trade-in value and accept a small down payment in cash to help me get into the car I love so much now. While I had waited for the results, I did a quick Google search of Clark Howard's recommendations on warranties and other things which is why when George came back with a fair number and result I felt I could trust him. He was so kind because I think he knew I was scared to take on this new obligation when I hate financing cars and explained if necessary, I could refinance to lower the interest rate in 6 mos to a year. I would also be able to pay it off sooner if I wanted without a penalty. I really felt I could trust him which is why I bought this car. Derek, who sells the warranties was very nice and very patient with me, explaining everything very thoroughly. Armed with the knowledge Clark Howard provided I was able to figure out which level to go for and was very happy with the overall price per month I will be paying. I also really liked working with their on-site insurance agent although I eventually went with a different agent outside the dealership because we hit it off talking cars and I liked what he said about what they could offer me. I'm extremely impressed with this location and highly recommend it to anyone moving into the area who needs a car they like and is reliable because George and his team of professionals really care. Original purchase experience of a Ridgeline with Von was great. However, a couple of weeks after the purchase, I looked up to the top of the truck for the first time and discovered these deep gouges in the front crossbar. The inspection with the Salesman at the time of the purchase was a walk around that did not include looking on the top of the vehicle. The Sales Manager, George, has been insistent that this damage had to have occurred after the purchase, despite that the truck was on the lot for 6 weeks before we bought it and came back in for detailing and I had barely driven the truck. After spending $54000 on a brand new truck, I wouldn't have expected this level of unprofessionalism over a $200 pair of crossbars.
