if you live on Tybee, don't bother calling these fools. i called today at 11:12am about someone who was wrongfully parked on private property. the sign in this condo complex has Hook Towing as the resource listed so you'd think they'd care a little more. however, an hour passes & the vehicle has still not been towed. i call again at 12:12pm & they say it's going to be another whole hour before someone can get out there. when i ask why, they give me bullsh*t excuses like "Tybee is too far from Savannah". I used maps and it's 37 minutes away. However, that is still no excuse. You make $$$ off towing cars, I don't know why you'd pass on an opportunity. I'm writing this at 12:40pm but I have to leave for work soon. I will update if they ever come. ***Update: the grown man (i didn't catch his name cause he never said it) working couldn't handle me cussing. I did not cuss at him or call him a cuss word. Hook Recovery & Towing was fantastic! Unfortunately not a company that you look forward to calling but I was in desperate need since my car just decided to completely die on me in the middle of a thunderstorm. Two jumps later my car would still not turn on, so I had to call the towing service. I was told they would be there in an hour in which Brandon got to me in a little under an hour! We started talking and I explained to him the other car issues I have had and recent fixes. He asked me to look at it, and after looking under my hood found that a latch on the battery was loose and could be the issue. He went back into his truck got a wrench tightened the latch and told me to turn my car back on. I did and the thing started!! Slightly annoyed at myself that that had been the issue but appreciated Brandon listening to me and taking a look and fixing the problem instead of just towing it which would have incurred lots of other costs & me finding a mechanic in a place I am not familiar with. I placed a call to Hook towing today 12/1/2020 @ 4:24pm. The dispatcher said it would be a hour and a half before the driver arrived. I agreed to this and paid the $125. Two hours passed no tow truck driver. I call the dispatch again, Dispatch I'll call the driver and have him call you. Another hour goes by, no phone call no driver on-site yet. Placed another phone call to the dispatcher, she stated the driver was on the way. Another hour goes by still no driver still no phone call. I'm not sure where all these positive reviews came from on their google listing, my experience with Hook towing is light years away from 5 stars. Horrible communication after paying the fee, imagine that. I will definitely never use this company again and I would not refer them to a family member or friend. When that time passed by an 1 and a half I called back . That's when I spoke Melissa and she was rude. She would not let me speak and she kept rambling about things that could happen to prevent them from arriving on time . She was totally unprofessional as I was trying to explain to her that I had a meeting and that I could not stay home with the car . She then asked why I didn't tell anyone that it was in the garage . Because noone asked if it was in the garage . Side note: The owner is also very nasty. I called to see where my car was dropped off and he was upset about the review . His first statement was " you are the person that gave us a bad review." I told him the reason for my bad review but he didn't care. He mentioned that he would listen to the phone call but he had not up to that point . So he basically was rude based on a review and that I guess prevented him from even giving me decent customer service. The review seemed to be his Main concern. He was more concerned durning the phone call about the review than he was my car . In fact he kept bringing up the review as if it was my fault . There was no conversation about how he could have made it better or anything. That is what is supposed to happen instead of being mad at a just review . He doesn't even address the negative reviews on Yelp. Which lets you know he doesn't care about trying to make the customer experience better . He then refused to give me the info of where my car was parked stating that I was on hold and should have heard the conversation. I still don't know where they parked my car . Please save your money and go to a towing company and with integrity and customer service . The owner was rude and he sets the tone for his business . We were stranded and tried to use our AAA benefit. This is a shout out to Hook & Recovery, and not meant as a complaint about AAA, but AAA told us it would be about 2 hours for the wait. At the two hour mark we contacted AAA for an update and they had NO record of our request. This started the 2 hour process all over again. We looked into our options to hire a tow company and submit for reimbursement, and Shelby at Hook & Recovery was awesome! She was responsive and they were ready to come to our rescue with a reasonable rate. Just as we were confirming with them, the contracted AAA tow company called us and they were almost to our location. I feel bad we didn't use Hook & Recovery and certainly hope AAA will contract with them in the future. That's who I will use if there is a next time. read more

One of the rudest disrespectful dispatcher/Owners ever. I was scheduled to have my car towed by insurance by this company. After being schedule I went outside to remove things from the car. I returned to my home ringing and it was hooks dispatch/Owner yell at me asking me where was I. I responded "Why are you yelling at me you can't talk to me that way." She said she need to know where I was cause she doesn't have time for this. I told her I want to speak to someone else because she was rude. She hung up so I call the driver very pleasant person and helpful. While he was one the way to me this ride lady decided to cancel the call. With everything going on in the world you would think people would be more respectful and kind to one another. But not this lady she was angry for no reason. When I look at the call tone the drive called at11:24 and she call at11:26. So two minutes was a reason for her to yell at a customer. The drive was so nice and he is the one in the trenches bravo to him for just being a awesome human being. Called back gentleman who answered phone couldn't find my car on list of cars to be picked up. After a moment he said on that car was already delivered to address we were given. Um sir the car is no where near my house driveway etc. Found my car on the next street over. Didn't attempt to rectify situation offer discount nothing. Very professional service and treated my vehicle with absolute respect. It is a new car and was not cheap. It was towed per CPD without me being present. I had sensitive things in my vehicle that could have easily been stolen, not only were they there but the driver actually took a blanket that was in my vehicle and covered everything up. Towing was fine, no issues; however we didn't receive a copy of receipt to give to our insurance company for reimbursement, only a text. My insurance won't accept what we were given. We have called 3 times now asking for a paper receipt, the first man was nice but didn't follow through with having the proper person call me back; second call never got promised email, third call the employee was very rude to my husband. I don't know why we didn't get a paper receipt in the first place, but it doesn't seem a hard request and an attitude is certainly not necessary. Got a flat tire because i curbed on a turn and my insurance company set up a tow for me. Lee was our tow truck driver and he was awesome! He was sensitive, polite, respectful and took extreme care with my vehicle (Audi A6). He made sure to be careful with my car and took us to the garage where I would have the work done. Unfortunately the garage wasn't going to have the particular tire I needed until the next day, but Lee off loaded the car and made sure it was safe in their garage and then gave us a ride back to our house, which was only about three blocks from where I got the flat!. Put in a call at 430 was told 2 hours. Ok I can live with that. 645 call they said 45 mins it's ok to leave the keys if you don't want to wait. Well here from out of state car was in middle of road with water up to almost the door. Hour goes by I called they said 30 mins hour goes by my ins company called they said 30 mins. 935 pm I call and yes I was upset. My car with out of state plates in middle of road with the keys in it I was told 30 mins. I was not the most pleasant I could be and the lady handled it by saying well get someone to move it then. I called my ins company again she called them and the lady said she canceled the order. Great my car in downtown Savannah with out of state plates in the middle of the road and she canceled the request. Now I'm 30 mins away from where the car is sitting it's now after 10pm so I have to wake my daughter to wake the baby to take me to a car that probably won't start since it sat in water for 6 hours now. The absolute worst. Have a little compassion and handle it like a professional I had every reason to be upset she definitely did not handle it like she should have. UNBELIEVABLE. My car ran out of gas so I went to the gas station and came back with some. When I came back my car was gone (this is within a 45 minute period). I than called Savannah police station and the cop came to my place and apologized and said he drove past my car and saw that it was abandoned so he had it towed. I called Hooks towing to let them know I cannot pick my car up until the following Monday. After conversing a bit Jennifer told me that's fine and I will owe $188 total to get my car. Since I was able to go earlier than Monday I got there on Saturday. There was a paper on the door that said "appointments only" and a phone number. I called the number and the guy said since you don't have an appointment you have to come back Monday. I called Monday and Jennifer told me she never told me that and if I was their on Saturday she would of let me pick it up. So A. She lied, B. The price is now $485, and C. They are charging me for Saturday, Sunday, AND Monday (even though I tried to pick my car up Saturday) I called Risk Management and the lady their is helping me get a refund. Big shout out to Eric and Hook Towing! My wife's BMW did not want to start at Walgreens. A quick diagnosis by me and I realized that I needed to have it towed home, so I could replace the starter. I called another place, but they put me on hold for 10 minutes. I hung up and called Hook Towing. The dispatcher did not put me on hold and helped me right away. He was extremely friendly and helpful. I asked if the driver could call me on his way to the car, so I could take my wife home. Not a problem. 20 minutes later, I got a call from the driver, Eric. I met him back at the car. He took his time to be careful with the car. He wanted to make sure the car would not be damaged pulling it onto the flatbed. While he took his time to be careful, he was not slow. Once on the truck, he followed me to the house and dropped the car exactly where I needed it.
