Maybe that's because I came from a large metropolitan city and wasn't used to the small town service that places like Skidaway auto repair provide. Pat runs the place, and upon meeting him I was delighted by his demeanor and his patience at explaining things to me so clearly and simply. I obviously don't know much about cars, but he didn't take advantage of that. In fact, they told me exactly what was wrong, how much it would cost, and educated me on what kind of things other mechanics, less scrupulous mechanics, would tell me and charge me, and how easily I could be taken advantage of. He made me feel like a relative was looking out for me. He even replaced a burnt out brake light for me, FOR FREE, on the spot, without waiting. Here's an example. My check engine had been on for quite a while, and he hooked up his magic gizmo to my car and within 30 seconds told me that a gas tank sensor was faulty and responsible for the check engine light. To replace the part with labor would cost about $300. However, by simply replacing my gas cap ($3 at any auto part shop) and not minding a few "false" fill up click-offs at the gas tank, I could live with the check engine light and save $300. This was on my FIRST visit to his shop! Now, tell me, in this day and age, with the economy hurting, who does that?! Pat does. The peace of mind I now have in knowing that I have an auto mechanic I can trust and who's fun to talk to, is yet another reason why I am increasingly enjoying living in Savannah. Trust me. He'll take care of you. Tell him I sent you. Thank you, Pat.

However they were unable to 'fix' a knock that my 2014 CRV kept experiencing after their so called fix after 4 trips. First bill was for $1400...no detailed receipt so can't remember exactly what was replaced. The next 3 times it was for a compressor replacement which obviously was not the issue as it kept knocking. We paid $1000 one time and then no charge on the next two replacements....however we all know what an inconvenience (but necessary) these issues are. Was told the second compressor replaced the 'defective' one and then the 3rd one was a different manufacturer which ended making the knock worse! Ended up at another auto repair and short story....the knock was finally fixed and the bill at half the cost of the original $1400. Called Skidaway to ask for some reimbursement and stated he would not offer any as "we didn't have the part to give him". There was no part to give back cause it wasn't the compressor! Word to the wise....do not waste your time going here.

But I am retired and I no longer turn wrenches. Recently my car had had a P0303 code which means the number three cylinder was misfiring. I took it to Savannah car Care. They ran a diagnostic and quoted me $1,000 for the replacement of 8 spark plugs and wires on My 2013 Chevy suburban 5.3 motor. They called me on the phone and I thought it was a joke. But it wasn't! I had the spark plugs and wires replaced in my car 26,000 miles ago for $378. Now Savannah car Care is telling me that I have to spend $1,000 to replace one bad spark plug cable that has gone bad since the last replacement of all 8 plugs. I asked them if they could just replaced the one bad cable and plug. They said NO - that all the spark plugs and cables were bad. Well, to make long story short. I am traveling the country and I needed my SUV, so I said go ahead and do it. Because I complained about the price. They lowered the cost of $906. I've been going to Savannah car Care for about 4 years now. Initially, when I started going there they were great. The manager that I used to deal with left and things have gone downhill. At that time, I had Car Shield warranty and Savannah car Care bad mouth that company to death. Now there are sponsors of that company. Make a pack with the Devil - money talks! Savannah car Care it's no longer the company I used to recommend. They have sold out and now they WAY overprice their services. It's a shame! I will not be back. THEY RIPPED ME OFF BIG TIME! $906 for changing eight spark plugs and wires. SHAME ON YOU! Savannah car Care!

They have always been honest and straightforward. But if I needed something explained they took the time to truly explain and give options. And not upsell items that were unnecessary. The auto repair shop is located on Habersham street. It is close to Green Truck. There is a limited amount of parking, you most likely will have to park on the street. The office/lobby is small but gets the job done. I would not suggest waiting for your vehicle there. I would make plans to go elsewhere and come back. Every person I have spoken to has always been helpful and kind. Mr. Parrish himself is incredibly knowledgeable. When describing sounds to him it is amazing how he knows what is wrong with your vehicle. They are open Monday through Friday. And keep normal business hours. There is a drop off box for keys for evenings/weekends if something happens when they are not there.

There is only one way to install this adjustable track bar. I cross referenced this with the 5 various YouTube videos of people installing this track bar on their Jeep. The person was so incorrect I didn't even bother showing him the diagram of how it was installed correctly. I just came and got the keys and left. I re-referenced the manufacturer instructions and it is installed correctly. There is only one way for it to fit regardless. I just needed an alignment, but nope, they wouldn't do it. Go elsewhere. They told me I had to bring my car in to get a quote, so I drove over. Once there, they took my key and told me it would take a couple of days to diagnose the issue. I emphasized very clearly that I only wanted to know the price and didn't want any service done without my approval. I'm not a native English speaker, so I even double-checked with them to make sure they wouldn't charge me before telling me the price. They said "okay." Then, they called me back and told me I needed to replace the entire brake system -- which would cost over $1,000. That's also the first time they mentioned the $155 diagnostic fee. I refused the repair immediately and asked to pick up my car. They still charged me the full $155. Later, I went to Mavis for a second opinion. They did a brake inspection for free, and told me my brakes are only 50% worn and do NOT need to be replaced. Worse still, the shop didn't even check the engine light, which I had asked about. They said that would be an additional $150. So what did I pay $155 for? Only a brake and underbody panel check -- and a sales pitch for an unnecessary repair? When I asked why they didn't mention the diagnostic fee up front, they claimed they told me -- but I'm 100% sure they didn't mention it when I dropped off the car. They only brought it up after they'd already done the inspection and tried to sell me an overpriced repair. At that point, I had no choice but to pay. Summary: * $155 charge for a basic inspection I didn't approve * No written quote given * No engine light check done * Second shop confirmed no repairs were needed * Poor communication, zero responsibility, and no apology This was not a "diagnostic scan." It was a diagnostic scam. To fellow Chinese customers: 别来了,这店就是专坑人的。
