Nail tech continued to cut the excess skin around my big toe nail. After I said it hurt. After it was bleeding. Pulling large pieces of my cuticle/excess skin away. This is the second time this has happened with the same nail tech... I know I need this skin removed. But there has to be a better way. If that wasn't enough, the pedicure was lack luster at best. The nail tech was on her phone scrolling for videos, so the massage part was less than ideal. Anyways. Disappointed to say that I won't be back here. It's too bad, really.

I don't think that's sanitary, but I'm not a nail tech. After being reminded of how many times she hurt me while taking off the acrylic powder and what services I was getting done, I paid for the service and that was it. No tip. They seemed confused. But it's all about the quality of the services not that you can do them. Next time I'm sticking to my salon in federal way. Smh. Lesson learned.

It's clean and the staff is really friendly. They do an awesome job and I am usually happy with their service. There has only been a handful of times that I felt that they were rushing. When I stopped in to get a pedicure they had a call that 6 people were wanting to get in and from that moment on she just rushed everything along. I couldn't enjoy it. I felt that they were pushing me aside along with the other 3 ladies that were in the pedicure chairs. I get it to an extent. Money is money especially when it comes to nail salons, however, I feel that if you do that to the current clients in the chairs you miss out on future business from them. The same thing happened again with my waxing. The girl usually takes her time, but again she was being rushed and left a crap ton of wax in my eyebrow hairs and didn't wipe good enough around the area that was waxed. I still think the place is really good and will continue to go there.

The quality is pretty good, except for the occasional nail that comes off or the one time I got mold underneath the acrylic. But they fixed the issues with no problems. The biggest issue I finally had was the service. I ALWAYS make an appointment. ALWAYS. And for them to pull the tech that's working on me for a walk in, THREE TIMES is just too much. They do good work, sure, but I don't enjoy having to sit and watch someone who came in after me, leave before me. I'm finding another salon for my daughter and I. I used to go here years and years ago...like the early 2000's lol. I know what your thinking ( why…read morewould you even be writing a review now, its a little late dont you think?) Lol..well heres the deal. After ready most all these reviews i noticed its 50/50...about even between 5 stars and 1 to 2 stars. It took me back to the time i was a regular there for quite awhile ( about 6 months or so). I went in one day and i already knew it was going to end in catastrophe. The gal i wanted was on vacation so they had a new gal( super young, she looked 12 but im sure she was at least 18). Someone else put my tips on( i was in for a full set and pedi), and the young girl then took over in filing and shaping my nails. Let me tell you i was ready to grab that drill from her hand and do it myself after watching her and feeling her bur the skin off right at my cuticle!! ( im familar with slo speed drills and acrylic burs im a dental assiatant and use that drill for making temporary crowns all the time). She apologized and continued on..when she started shaping with the file i kept telling her i want square swuare not round square(( or squaval as they refer to it nowadays). Anyways she finished and let me tell you the shape looked ridiculous! I mean wtf! I paid , walked out to my car and turned around and walked back in and asked go speak with the owner Jen( same owner then in the early 2000's as now..shes probably lost her passion for the industry by now lol). Anywho, she looks at my nails and says whats wrong with them? I looked at her and said " really?? Can you not see how ridiculous these are and how stupid the shape is? So she grabs a file while im standing at the front desk and starts filing on them( AGAIN ..REALLY??!!). They looked no better than when i left the first time. They know im a regular and for some reason thought i wouldnt care the outcome of my nails by throwing me to the greenhorn in the back!..i was very dissapointed..i always tipped that place well to...always 20 dollar tip ( back in early 2000s that was BIG TIP!)..So it was obvious to me the owner didnt give a shit who i was...i thought well it was only one time ill give them another chance..N O P E!! BAD SERVICE AGAIN! I WAS DONE!!..I feel like its a trend. You find a place you really like and are impressed and happy with the outcome and after awhile the service starts to slip...not sure what it is but this is not the first salon this has eventually been the outcome...anyways ya..i never went back there after that and its now 2025...looks like things havent changed much there lol

It is no longer Unique Nails, I wasn't able to find the name in Yelp, which is Lynx Nails and Spa…read more This used to be my go to nail salon, and was surprised that it no longer was Unique Nails. They remodeled, so it looks more updated, but its a whole new staff/company. I had high hopes, but I am so picky and was sad Unique Nails were no longer. I made an appointment the day prior for 9:30am. I had a gentleman as my nail tech, I showed him long oval nails, he glued on my pinky nail crooked so he had to remove the glued nail off and try again. I started to get nervous. My nails took half the time as others in, I'm assuming they are regulars for the new salon. He got acrylic all over my skin around my nails and just left it. I paid $75 plus tip for a full set with chrome finish. When i got home to look at my nails, there is a gap between the fake nail and my nails. Literally every nail was not glued on properly. I was going to go back to see if they would rectify my badly done nails, but I dont think I would go back anyways. Im so sad! Unique Nails was my favorite, i believe Dan was my regular. And now its different, and after the rushed set with acrylic all over my skin, I am saddened. I will not be returning, and I recommend anyone that goes to double check they glued the nail on properly. Make sure they do quality work so you dont end up like me. Im sure I will have to get my nails redone very soon. It took me so long to find a regular spot, now Im back to square one I am not sure if the nail tech was new or not, but I feel like I totally got ripped off.
