We just finished…read morethe process this week, and everything--from discussing the project, to their interfacing with my insurance company, to the roofing job, to the gutters, to the payment--was seamless, user-friendly, and hassle-free. Because JG handled most of the communication with my insurance company, it took a lot of stress off of us, and we appreciate that. The team who put on the new roof were all great guys and extremely hard workers. They did their best to protect our landscaping and window screens, and when unexpected events occurred (like needing new decking because the original wasn't up to code), they rolled with it and never lost their good attitudes. We really appreciate their expertise; we've had several storms since our new roof went on, and there are NO leaks! Hurray! Special kudos to Garrett Robinson, my project manager; Brandi in the front office; and Joe Gentle, the owner, for being patient with all my questions and answering my concerns so thoroughly. They are very professional and quite obviously committed to great customer service. Thank you to everyone at JG Contracting for their excellent work and wonderful attitudes! We love our new roof and gutters!

He had his crew chief out here in a couple of days and had a crew up on our roof in no more than a week. It only took them one afternoon and we were good to go. (Communication is crucial to my satisfaction) They didn't insist we needed a new roof, though ours is 23 years old. For a tenth of the cost of a new roof, they repaired the one we already had. My only reservation is that the whole crew was Mexican. Or Mexican-American, -I dunno. Tim claims that he can't get Anglos to do the work.

I contracted with Preferred Roofing last fall to replace our hail-damaged roof and gutters. Jeff…read moreGrubb project managed the entire process, from an initial inspection, to working with the insurance company, to managing the crews and their work. Jeff proactively followed up with me throughout the process--I never had to call him to ask for a status, and the crews did masterful work, even in cold conditions. They took extra steps to make sure that the job was done properly, such as using a slightly larger drip cap so that moisture wouldn't seep behind the guttering--which was a huge problem from the last time our house was re-shingled. Full disclosure here....Jeff and I were high school classmates. That fact is why I initially called Preferred Roofing, because I wanted a local company, not a fly-by-night storm-chasing group. Having seen Jeff at a class reunion, I knew that he was a project manager for a local roofer, so I gave them a call. It was Jeff's professional demeanor and impeccable integrity which he demonstrated early in the process that earned Preferred Roofing my business. The professionalism and demeanor of the crew reinforced and validated my decision. They worked well together, they worked hard and smart, and they cleaned up every day they were there. Not a roofing nail was to be found on my driveway, sidewalks, or deck. I enthusiastically recommend Preferred Roofing!

We've had quite a few major projects to undertake since we purchased our home last summer. During…read moreone issue (a leaking window trim) we found Fidler on the Roof. Aaron came out and got up on our roof, even fixing a gasket around the sewer pipe, but they weren't able to help us with the original window issue. He recommended several people and actually followed up to see if we got what we needed. Aaron did all of this without any money exchanged. Fast forward a few months to the storm on/around October 14, 2017. This is the same storm that did quite a bit of damage to World's of Fun. Trees were uprooted there and parts of the park were flooded. A tree in our front yard had a large limb and part of the tree fall on the front part of our house/roof. We used Farage Tree and Stump removal to get the limb off the roof. We had used them before and they even came that night to have it removed. Our insurance company had an adjuster come out and they said we would need a new roof. The Insurance company said we should pick who we wanted to do the job for us. We called several places to have our roof looked at. Due to all the storms this year, most people were backed up. Aaron from Fidler on the Roof came and looked at the roof quite quickly. Another roofer finally did come but never replied to our emails after the visit. Both estimates were very close in price. Aaron helped us with picking out colors and gave us all the information we needed. He gave us an estimate of when they could get the roof completed by and communicated well. He also communicated with the Insurance agent and made sure they had everything so we could get the insurance check quickly. We had a few minor issues with starting on the day of the project (they got caught up finishing another project and one of the trailers broke), but once they began they worked quickly. Tarps were placed around the house and care was taken to minimize trash. They stripped the shingles in a few hours, and by 1 pm the next day they had the shingle work completed. Our roof is fairly small but steep in pitch. A fascia board cracked and an interior beam had a slight crack in it as well from the tree damage. Aaron used a carpenter that works with them to complete that aspect of the job. He came a few days later and finished that work perfectly. The other company who came to give us an estimate could not do this work. We would have had to find someone else to complete the carpentry work. Flashing around our chimney was the last step and that was completed the following week. They communicated every step and even sent photos from the roof of the work completed. After dealing with a lot of companies, I will say Aaron and Fidler on the Roof is a respectable and straight forward business. They were busy and sometimes things happened (a few timing issues), but Aaron was always there to answer any questions we had and was good to his word. I would recommend them and their work to anyone.
