Recently visited and I think I found my new favorite restaurant! Everything we had was amazing! There is street parking, garage parking, and complimentary valet. The space is small but it feels open and very inviting! The service was wonderful! Everything we had was amazing but eh stand outs were the ceviche, crab and shrimp fried rice, and the tres leches! Can't wait to go back!
Had an annual HRW date with a friend. We invited two more girlies and wanted to have a cute dinner night. After HEAVY deliberation (there's so many options this year) we convinced them we should try graffiti raw. I'm so glad we did!! From the time I entered the energy was top tier. Full service from the threshold of the front entrance until we were literally back at valet. Staff and management here are so hospitable. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with each piece complementing another. Love the wall art in the restroom entrances as well as the light fixtures. Let's get to the food and drinks cuz that's why y'all are still reading . I'm on my 3rd alcohol cleans of the year so I have suggestions for the mocktail girlies as well! I enjoyed both the grapefruit spritz ~ sub grapefruit for watermelon and the chulita. The other ladies had the jacy, margarita, ruby red , and the collective. No complaints on any of them. We all started with the crispy calamari. The shishito peppers paired so well with seasonings and calamari was coated perfectly. Second course some of the ladies chose the ceviche combo, wiped their plates clean! I enjoyed the crab and shrimp fried rice. The sauce that comes with it really elevated the flavors. For the third course the linguini apps vongole took the win at the table. One of the ladies got the chicken schnitzel and while the chicken was prepared to her liking she still felt like something was missing. We closed out with the most perfect tres leches and a cheesecake for one. Before our food hit the table we already were discussing coming back for brunch. They have $15 mimosa carafes, happy hours during the week and even nightly wine specials. Another great mention is that everything is used with honest ingredients!! Truly a gem to find now a days.
We tried graffiti raw for HRW and had an amazing time. The service was fantastic, quick, friendly and the most attentive we've had in a long time. The restaurant is beautifully decorated as well. We felt like the HRW was a great value - we tried the crispy tuna, fried rice, caviar and chips, calamari, linguine, cheese burger and vanilla bean cheesecake. Zero complaints about anything - it was all delicious! But I have to say the linguine was awesome and the caviar and chips were a great app. We have already decided to come back to try the regular menu as well. 10/10 and can't wait to come back
Very cool restaurant in lower Westheimer that has a California-beachy vibe. We enjoyed spicy mexcal margaritas along with a baked fish dish and a spicy salmon curry bowl. The waitress was attentive and friendly. The only thing we didn't love was forced valet parking due to the lack of meaningful alternatives.... but definitely worth checking out Graffiti Raw!
My mom first discovered this restaurant and wanted to try it with me. We had lunch reservations and were seated right away with no wait. Although the restaurant was not very crowded, the atmosphere was still very pleasant. The space is beautifully decorated, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but overall, I am unsure if the experience was strong enough to make me want to return. To start, my mom and I ordered the Crispy Calamari and the Charred Octopus. The octopus was easily the standout dish of our meal. It was incredibly tender and flavorful, and it paired well with the other components on the plate, including the crème fraîche, chili crunch, potato, and chorizo. A staff member also came by to cut the octopus for us and recommended that we eat it with everything on the plate, which elevated the experience. That said, I would have liked a bit more of the chimichurri to help brighten the dish and cut through the richness of the cream and potato. Unfortunately, the calamari was very average in comparison. While it was fried well in terms of color, the batter was overly thick and overwhelming, especially since the calamari itself was overcooked. The excessive batter made it tough and difficult to chew, to the point where it was hard to cut with a fork. The seasoning was good and the portion size was generous, but the texture ultimately took away from the dish. We also ordered the Angus Cheeseburger, though by the time it arrived, we were already quite full from the generous portions of the appetizers. We still gave it a try, but it was fairly ordinary. The bun was very soft and there was plenty of sauce, the fries were soggy, and while the smashed patties were cooked well, nothing about the burger stood out. Overall, while the service and ambiance were enjoyable, the food was inconsistent and did not fully justify a return visit. Aside from the excellent octopus, most of the dishes were forgettable, making this a place I would likely skip in favor of more reliable options nearby.
Near Montrose and Westheimer, fun place to people watch. Pluses 1. Outdoor patio 2. Spaghetti carbonara Areas to improve 1. Outdoor chairs not comfortable 2. Cocktail was just okay and pricey 3. Linguine vongole- so salty and spicy, inedible, server apologized for not letting me know in advance 4. Calamari good amount but also too salty I've eaten at their other concepts before. They do have HH which could be interesting. Moderate price point. It was a wonderful day to be outside for dinner, but not sure I would return for the food.
Great Happy Hour, $5 Aperol spritzes on Thursdays. A cute little place with good vibes, good energy, and some outside seating. Perfect for a sunny day to sit outside. They have a really good cocktail menu and will validate valet parking. Okay some of the best calamari I've tasted! It also has fried asparagus or green onions or something alongside shishito peppers and garlic chips. This was pretty damn good if you excuse my French. It was fried and seasoned perfectly and it came with a banana pepper aioli and a lemon infused pepper olive oil which was delicious! I also ordered the crispy rice tuna cake which was beautiful and executed perfectly. The tuna was so fresh and delicious, the avocado beautifully sliced, and the chili oil and slight spice around and on top brought this appetizer full circle. Ty Chris for a lovely and attentive experience.
The food and service is top tier, all of the items we ordered were great and seasoned well. Something so devine like calamari with shishito peppers was a great appetizer along with the miso salad. We sat outside with a nice breeze blowing and under some shaded trees.
What a lovely place to dine at, especially if you enjoy sitting outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. The outdoor seating was nice, each table had umbrellas so you don't need to worry about catching too much sun. They play music that could be heard from outside. They offer a variety of cocktails and wines as well as brunch items during the weekend. They validate valet parking! So if you want free parking do not park in the garage across the street. To drink I got "The Perla" and a "Carajillo" both super delicious. The Perla is the perfect blend of pineapple and coconut. A creamy refreshing cocktail. The Carajillo was delicious! I'm very picky when it comes to Carajillos and this one was great! I approve! I love that rich coffee taste, the bartender killed it! For appetizers we ordered the Crispy Calamari and Crispy Rice & Tuna. The server did advise us that the Crispy Rice & Tuna is 2 bites, the size of two bites. I will say it's one bite max, super tiny for the price point. It was tasty and fresh but a little pricy for something so small. The Crispy Calamari was so good. I loved the dipping sauces that came with it. Both a lemon butter and oil, very delicious. The calamari was cooked to perfection and the flavors were amazing. For our entrées, we got "The Cure" which is a brunch menu item and an "Angus Cheeseburger" as well as a side of Brussels sprouts. The Cure is their carbonara spaghetti with breaded chicken. It was a nice surprise seeing the carbonara be prepared at our table. This dish was delicious. No complaints. I loved that the Angus cheeseburger was t smashed patties! The patties were cooked perfectly, they had that nice crispy edge that I love! And the Brussels sprouts were a 10/10, that perfect sweet and savory flavor I look when I eat Brussels sprouts! So good, all the food was really good. The service was great too. Our server was very attentive. Always checking up on us and making sure everything was good before leaving the table. At one point my friend had ordered an espresso martini with rum. She did not like the espresso martini. It tasted different than what we were accustomed to. We let the server know, and she gladly exchanged the drink. After exchanging the drink, the bartender advised her that they used the wrong type of rum for the espresso martini. Both the server and the manager came to our table to apologize for the mistake and didn't charge us for the drink, which I found to be great customer service on their end. That was very nice of them to come apologize for the little mistake. Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience at graffiti raw. I will be back! Don't forget to ask about parking validation. And they do offer reservations!
I've had this place on my list for a while and was really looking forward to it. My server was from Scotland I think his name was Nick or sounded like Nick. He was so friendly and extremely enthusiastic. He read off the specials and they sounded delicious so I didn't bother with the menu. Maybe I should have explored the menu. The fall salad was really good spring leaves with butternut squash, dates, feta, pomegranate I think I might make this for thanksgiving. However the chicken was a disappointment the chicken was dry and had no seasoning. The rice was dry. A little sauce could have saved this dish. Crème brûlée was good though I wish the topping was warm or at least room temperature. It's a cute restaurant maybe I'll try something else next time.
I came to Graffiti Raw on my esthetician's recommendation and I was not disappointed. We made outdoor reservations just in case and I suggest you do the same if it's a particularly beautiful day. We were already parked at the garage parking across the street so we walked from there although if you're lucky you could snag a street parking spot. The ambiance was beautiful indoor and most things I tried were tasty. The service was wonderful and the manager was nice to us. They also have a bunch menu from 10-4 on the weekends. Here are my thoughts on the food and drinks. Crispy Rice & Tuna $14 - 3/5 The flavor was fine, nothing new, but the portion was laughably small and was one bite. The waitress warned us that it was "two bites," but it was one piece we had to cut in half. For the price, I expected two individual pieces. Also, it's worth noting that this is under the "To share- All Day Menu".....Not worth it. Crispy Calamari $22 - 4.5/5 This was so good! I really like how they added fried green onion into the mix and the two sauces it came with complimented it very well. It came with a lemon creamy sauce and a lemon infused oil for dipping. Caramelized Brussel Sprouts $10- 4/5 These are a pretty solid choice. They were savory and came with caramelized onions as well. Didn't have that touch of sweet or crisp that I prefer on brussels but they were good. The Cure (brunch menu) $28- 4/5 This one was tasty and a fun experience as well because the waitress came and made the sauce at the table. I just wish the cutlet wasn't so dry and thin. Angus Cheeseburger $18- 4.8/5 This smash burger was juicy and flavorful. Almost on par with my favorite spot Burger Bodega. El Pepino $16- 3.7/5 It's what I expected from this drink. Nothing more nothing less. Refreshing cucumber margarita basically. Bloom $18- 4.5/5 This was so good! Definitely don't buy it if you aren't a fan of florals. Espresso Martini- 1/5 This was easily the worst thing I had. I asked for rum (I've had one before with rum and it was amazing), told the server to go with whatever rum the bartender recommends since I'd only had the drink once before. Now I know: always ask for dark rum. Hard to say if it was the white rum or their coffee base, but either way, it just didn't work. The manager came over and comped the drink because he had heard I didn't like it which was really nice but he explained that dark rum would have made it taste better so it turned out to be a learning lesson for me! Carajillo 5/5- This was amazing. Super smooth and tasty. This is the experience I wanted from my espresso martini. Overall I'd come back!
This was my first time ever trying this restaurant! We came for brunch. It is super cute and open inside. I love that they offer carafes of mimosas inside of just singles. I had the Sunrise Sandwich and the Oysters, both of which were delicious and flavorful. I will add that I am usually not a fan of tator tots, but these were SO good and cooked to perfection. Our server was able to offer great suggestions and was really nice and attentive, making our experience even better! Would definitely come back to try for dinner!
We went back for restaurant weeks and had a pleasant experience all around. Food was really good, including the new cheesecake dessert option. Service was a little spotty, especially since they forgot our second course, but they were professional and nice about it. Overall a satisfying experience for a casual, relaxed outing.

I am so happy I finally got to try this place after hearing about it from literally EVERYONE lol. This place was super packed on a Friday night. I definitely recommend making a reservation if you want to get a table without waiting forever. I made a reservation days prior and still ended up waiting about 20 minutes. The inside of this place is super chic, reminded me of a restaurant that you can find near the beach in California. I loved the decor and it felt super cozy inside! We were greeted right away after seating with water and our waiter came shortly after to get our drink order and give us a brief run down of the menu since we were first timers. To start I ordered the collective, a pineapple mezcal based drink with white rum. It was delicious! I ended up ordering a few of these throughout dinner. For appetizers we ordered the caviar & chips, roasted oysters, and tiradito de salmon. All three were amazing. The roasted oysters were made with a chipotle mayo that was super tasty, I couldn't stop eating them. The tiradito de salmon tasted so fresh and the orange zest made it the most refreshing appetizer. Since we had a good amount of appetizers, for my entree I ordered the whole roasted branzino. This is a pretty small portion and no sides are included. It was perfect for me because I was starting to get full but if you are hungry, I would definitely a couple of sides to go with this. However, this branzino was delicious! Lastly, we ordered the tres leches for dessert. Super moist (as it should be) and delicious. And this is coming from a person that normally does not eat dessert! I also wanted to highlight the service that we recieved here. Dejah was amazing! She was attentive, knowledgable, and overall super entertaining. She kept us laughing all while provided 10/10 service. I will definitely be back :) read more

Another solid montrose collective establishment. Honestly I was hesitant about trying this place thinking it would be mediocre over priced food. Happy to report, that's not the case. Fully worth trying out the HRW menu with its 4 courses. Highlights were: crispy rice and tuna- tasty sauce accompaniment shrimp and crab fried rice- just a solid basic fried rice with tasty morsels of crab and shrimp vongole- this was garlic city...super flavourful, and filling! Our server was very attentive- some might say a touch too attentive- checking in with each course, but super nice and friendly! They have some nice patio seating, with fans! Would be nice for when Houston cools down a bit. Definitely take advantage of complimentary valet, or can park in the garage. read more
Love this beautiful restaurant! Interior is warm and inviting. Staff are friendly and attentive. Crowds come in fast and furious during dinner time. It will be good to have reservation. Parking can be challenging here. Either street parking, garage parking, or valet. My partner and I had the HRW dinner menu. I chose the cod croquettes, caviar and chips, linguine alla vongole, and beet cake. I also ordered The Jacy to go with my food. My partner had the crispy rice & tuna, crab & shrimp fried rice, pan roasted salmon, and chocolate tart with an additional scoop of chocolate hazelnut ice cream. Cod croquettes: generous amount of cod in each croquette. Nicely seasoned and the spicy sauce that came with it complemented the croquettes. Good dish. Caviar and chips: chips were seasoned with a little salt. Caviar had the natural saltiness in it. But all the saltiness was balanced with the sour crème fraîche. Good dish. Linguine alla vongole: the ingredients were fresh. The white wine and lemon butter sauce gave the dish different flavors in a bowl. The dish wasn't spicy though I was told it would be. But it didn't matter to me since the dish was already well balanced. Beet cake: the cake had the same texture as a carrot cake. All the said ingredients (beets, pineapple, pecans, and cinnamon) were present in the slice. The frosting was not overly sweet. It was great with the cake. Crispy rice and tuna: rice was pan fried beautifully, and the tuna was fresh. Not sure the need for a small slice of avocado, nonetheless, it was a good dish. Crab & shrimp fried rice: very flavorful and the cook on the rice was perfect. It has a little spice to it but it was good. Pan roasted salmon; fish was fresh, and cooked at the temperature desired. It was properly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Chocolate tart: very rich chocolate but not overly sweet. The chocolate tart resembled chocolate truffle. The chocolate hazelnut ice cream was rich, and of perfect sweetness. Delicious! The Jacy: spicy, sour, and slight sweetness in a drink. The drink was refreshing, and had the right amount of alcohol in it. Very good! I had a wonderful dining experience. Definitely coming back here again for the wonderful food! read more
General Description: A modern, artsy, and vibey restaurant with a California inspired menu. The good: - Service was great. I felt like they had too many servers compared to how slow it was. - Presentation of the dishes were great. The bad: - Every dish was salty; especially the fried rice. It was as if the kitchen got too happy with the soy sauce. Our server was kind enough to have it remade and packaged togo. However, upon checking the rice when we got home, the dish tasted the same. I have a feeling they just heated the same rice up and packaged it nicely. - Food took long to come out. - A bit overpriced for subpar food. Other notables: - Complimentary valet. Overall: Disappointed. read more

Came here to celebrate 2 couple friends of ours wedding anniversaries. Very laid back environment that makes you feel like you're on an island vacation. The staff was on top of keeping our table clean, getting our orders right, and even comp'ing some of our dishes to celebrate the anniversaries. It's a bit on the expensive side but you should know that most places in this newer block of Montrose are the same way. There is some parking on the street but there is a huge garage right across the street. read more
Vibes all around in a prime location! I was struggling to find parking, then found out later that they validate for free only if you park at the lot next-door. Prices are a bit high for smaller portions, but definitely worth the experience. The aesthetics here are spot-on and photogenic for Instagram. We shared the charred octopus (highly recommended), roasted oysters, clam linguine, and miso Cesar salad. Would come back and order all of these again, in addition to their other seafood dishes I'm tempted to try. All of their cocktails are well crafted and beautiful in presentation. The restaurant itself is pretty loud and gets crowded, so I would make a reservation if you're coming during prime time! read more

It was date night on a Wednesday evening and we had reservations at 6:45. We arrived a few minutes early so we ordered a cocktail at the bar first. The place was very busy and there was not much room to walk between tables. My partner ordered a gin & tonic which was served with the torched rosemary. Very clean and refreshing cold drink! I had the Big Sur that I saw on their instagram. It was good! It had more orange juice than I thought it would. It was kinda like a tequila sunrise. I would probably not order it again unless it was earlier in the day, like at brunch. First we enjoyed the tuna tartar served with plantain chips. The baked oysters were AMAZING! Next time I want to eat an order of six all by myself! Our server described the special for the night: linguini with a delicious lemon white cream sauce and added diced tuna. It was tempting, however we chose the linguini either clams. It was delightful! We were seated near the restrooms which made for interesting people watching. There are two gender-neutral restrooms on opposite sides of each other. A person may try one side, it is occupied, so they walk over to the other side and it is occupied. Fun stuff. Will return for those oysters! read more
Amazing. The decor, the waiters' attire, the chairs and tables, it's all amazing and with how great it is and being in the Montrose area I would have expected higher prices! Dishes are an affordable $16-$27. Because of that I'd go again. I stopped in to celebrate my birthday with a few friends and we loved it. Our waiter was amazing. The chicken cutlet entrees are to die for. Get them! Everyone raved about the seafood fried rice as well. But everyone wanted to keep eating my chicken cutlet! The greens on the avocado toast were simple but tasty too. read more
Had dinner during restaurant week. Great service. Loved the California vibes of the decor. Drinks and food were excellent! Can't wait to return. Favorites: pearl drink (think pina colada on the rocks); calamari appetizer is a must, crunchy and fantastic on its own or with sauces; dinner was ok nothing bad but nothing that made us want to come back for it; beet cake is an experience not sure if I liked it enough to have again but I didn't regret trying it (and I love beets). read more
We visited Graffiti Raw for Houston Restaurant Week with a few friends. First let's talk parking- Graffiti Raw is in the Montrose Collective area. Unfortunately, they would not validate for parking in the parking garage but would for the valet. The inside of the restaurant is super cute- Miami Beach vibes. It is small. We sat in the middle and we were fairly comfortable. The menu was a little pricy, including the drinks. We were thankful for restaurant week. We loved our appetizers. The cod croquettes were delicious. The ceviche was very fresh. The caviar served in the caviar chips were plentiful, but they did charge us when we asked for extra chips. IMO the best entree was the burger and fries. I would skip on the chicken and the salmon. Just very average. The desserts were fun to pass around as well- the beet cake was the most unique. Overall, I would come back for an nice dinner. read more
Love this cute little place at the Montrose Collective! Parking: Valet, paid parking garage across the street, or limited street parking in the neighborhood. Ambiance: Modern yet casual, great for a dinner with friends. Not too loud which is a plus. Service: I was greeted immediately upon walking in and the staff was very attentive and friendly. Food: - Charred octopus: 3/5, was a fairly small portion for our group of 4 to share but otherwise grilled well and I enjoyed the chorizo it came with - Seared scallops: 3/5 - East coast oysters: 4/5 - Miso ceasar: 5/5, this is sooo good. Nice and crisp, I love the garlic chips it's topped with - Tiradito de salmon: 3/5 - Pink tartare: 5/5, the salmon and tuna was nice and fresh - Cheeseburger: 4/5, this is made as a smashburger and it tasted great! - Linguine alla vongole: 5/5, this dish is amazing, the pasta is made perfectly and the sauce is delicious This place is a great addition to the neighborhood and I can't wait to come back and try out the rest of the menu. read more

This place was on my Houston Restaurant Week "to do" list. So of course we had to check it out and see what the hype was about. The food did not disappoint! They have a 4 course meal and I wish I would have taken more pics because they say the first 2 courses are half sized, but I was full before the main course arrived. But big boy is going to make space. I don't usually eat seafood but this place had me indulging in shrimp and crab fried rice, calamari, and even clams. All of the food was amazing. The service was exceptional and they even kept my son company while I ate. The chicken was delicious and crispy, a California twist on chicken Parmesan, but better. We enjoyed every bite. The interior design is simple, yet amazing, it gives feels of eating alongside blue water and I loved basking in the ambiance. I'll be back soon! read more
Another good addition to the area. The parking garage makes the whole complex easier to visit, but they suggest that you valet with Uchi or Marmo so that you can get the valet validated. The aesthetic is great, beachy boho that really doesn't falter at any point of the restaurant. You feel wrapped in the vibe here. Service was great as well; Deja was chipper and eager to answer any questions and offer plenty of suggestions. The food was really strong on our shareables/appetizers round. Oysters, caviar, ceviche, octopus, and some others were all super flavorful and bright. Very balanced and yummy. Not overly large portions, so definitely get a couple more than you'd think. Anything under the apps, ceviches, and crudos sections is great. Honestly you should just do a big family style and order exclusively. The entrees were kinda lack luster. I got a catch of the day Mahi that was ok. Very well prepared, but nothing I'd order again. Someone else got a $36 seafood fried rice that had hardly any visible seafood, that's a big knock if you're gonna charge that much for rice. Overall enjoyed the visit! read more
Montrose has changed so much over the years. There's a lot of new up and coming restaurants such as Graffiti Raw. Parking in this area can be tricky. If you're unable to snag a street parking spot, there's a parking garage in the building across from the restaurant. My friend and I came here for dinner for HRW. The ambiance inside was very earthy and coastal with plenty of rattan decor. Unfortunately, reservations fill up fast so only patio seating was available. This made the experience slightly uncomfortable because the Texas heat even around 6PM was still pretty intense. The servers did their best by providing fans outdoors. We ordered cocktails to cool us down. I highly recommend the paper plane if you're a fan of whiskey-based cocktails like me. Our first course was the crispy rice and tuna and the cod croquettes. The crispy rice and tuna was probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. The crispy rice was done really well and the tuna wasn't too fatty. The cod croquettes were also pretty good but I mainly just tasted the potatoes. The second course was the crab & shrimp fried rice and the red snapper ceviche. The fried rice has Thai chilis in it so be warned that it has a kick to it. Thankfully, the freshness of the ceviche balanced it out. My friend loved the tortilla chips paired with the ceviche. We both ordered the roasted chicken for our third course. I was surprised with how big of a serving we got, both the leg and thigh. The chicken was moist yet the skin was really crispy. The chicken was paired with a chimichurri sauce and a bed of greens. We were already getting pretty full but managed to make room for dessert. The chocolate tart was very decadent and had a rich chocolate flavor so I'm thankful we shared since I probably could not eat more than one. We were intrigued by the beet cake but it was just okay. The cake was pretty much a carrot cake with a lot of cinnamon. The beet "frosting" added a bit of earthiness. This was one of the few restaurants participating in HRW that offered 4 courses for their dinner menu so I'd say the total cost of our dinner was worth. read more
Houston restaurant week review! First course, we had the calamari and rice/tuna. The calamari was seasoned well and perfectly crispy. The rice/tuna was good too but the proportions were way off. The calamari was a good size. The rice/tuna was a one bite situation. Didn't make sense why there was such a difference in sizes of courses. Both were delicious but the sizes didn't add up. For second course we had the red snapper ceviche and the fried rice. Again the proportions were wayyy off. The ceviche was maybe 3 bites (little bit of ceviche with lots of chips). The fried rice was a good size for 1-2 people. Both tasted good--but wished they were better sizes. The third course we had chicken paillard and roasted salmon. The chicken lacked salt and was covered in an arugula salad (literally just leaves of arugula lol). The salad lacked flavor and color. The potatoes were very bland. We didn't enjoy it. The salmon was basically swimming in butter along with the greens. Way tooooo much butter and no seasoning at all. For the fourth course, we had chocolate tart and beet cake. Tart was okay. Description says pistachio crust but there were just crumbs of pistachio sprinkled on top. Beet cake was not it. That's not cake yall. It was stodgy, dense and lacking flavor. I couldn't taste cinnamon or pecans. There was supposed to be a cream cheese icing but that was straight up buttercream. No tart from cream cheese. Cake is supposed to be fluffy, crumbly, and moist. This was so dense, as if it had been prepared weeks in advance and frozen. Definitely not fresh. Dessert was a disappointment. Honestly giving three stars for the service-incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The staff was 10/10. The ambiance is a very lax, beachy vibe. The first two courses were tasty but lacked in proper sizing. The last two courses were not good. I don't think I'll be coming back--def not worth 55$/person. read more

Everything we ordered was delicious. I was craving cheeseburger and it did not disappoint. Service was friendly on a weekday lunch and the restaurant has a nice ambiance. There's a nearby parking garage across the street. read more
Located behind Uchi and Marmo, Graffiti Raw struck me initially as being a bit millennial-pretentious with its name; it's not quite a name for an up and coming Indie band or an alt rock outfit. Parking is a bit of an issue in this area; there wasn't valet so there is the paid parking garage opposite the restaurant. After the meal, our waitress told us to use the valet for Uchi or Marmo; too late! Interior is going with a very uniform tan/dirt/beige color way; interesting. Our server was extremely friendly and enthusiastic about their menu. Big fan of their chair design and interior. They proclaimed being a California/Venice Beach concept; I don't really see it outside of the few seafood dishes and definitely didn't really see anything particular off the menu during the times I've been in Venice, CA. We ordered a few apps and mains. Octopus 4/5, cooked well, portions are a bit small Shrimp 4.5/5, great sauce Crudo 4/5, decent sauce and plenty of octopus, portion was slightly weak. Oysters 3/5, a bit bland and breading a bit over cooked Shrimp and crab fried rice 1/5; at $36, this is the worst thing we ordered. No lump crab spotted in there. Stuffed avocado 3/5, not spectacular, slightly bland. Overall, ambiance is a solid 4/5 for those who like Chip and Joanna Gaines. Color palette is consistent for the interior and a good look. The menu seemed like it could've been a more concerted approach to me but most of what we ordered was good. Value is a 3/5, portions definitely on the smaller side for some dishes. The appetizers definitely were better received than the entree's and that would be the recommendation; order apps and go family style. read more

Let me start by saying, I was a skeptic. "Diverse Californian food scene", "coastal flavors of Mexico, the Mediterranean and more", stunning decor, it felt like a gimmick. I truly wasn't sure this concept would take in Houston, but to my surprise, I was dead wrong. When we arrived near open, the restaurant was dead, which provided some time to savor the beautiful decor. The decor was casually luxurious, and all of the attention (as the only patron) was on me :). The food kept me in the fantasy. We started with some wine, followed by the charred octopus that took inspiration from many cultures (this one was easily our favorite). We continued with seared scallops (also yum), and their miso Caesar. At this point, we were near full so we finished with a tres leches and called it. The only miss from our entire meal was the tres leches. The same cake served at Flora, it satisfied my sweet tooth, but I personally wouldn't order it again. All and all, this place certainly exceeded my expectations! It's worth a stop in! read more

The ambiance of the restaurant makes for a perfect date night. The modern decor and lively music lend itself a great dinner. We chose the linguine allá vongole and the sphagheti rustichella for our two entrees. The were both amazing, but would recommend the linguine allá vongole, especially if you prefer a little spice. The spaghetti was good but didn't stand out. Our server was very attentive throughout the night. I would recommend a reservation as it may be hard to get a table inside as a walk in. They have a nice outdoor seating area but would recommend indoor for the full experience. On the weekends they do have $5 aperol spritz in the evenings. read more

California boho beach vibes with the Cali prices to match. A party of 5, we ordered 5 small plates & 3 entrees to share & left unsatisfied. The appetizer portions are meant to be shared between like 2 people & the presentation of the entrees were UNDERWHELMING. Hard to do family style when there is barely enough to share. (4/5): MISO CEASAR: Surprising one of the best things we ate. The miso added this flavor bomb of umami & all the cripsy shallots & garlic chips brought the much needed texture. Was RECCOMENDED to get this dish by a friend who dined here & it did not disappoint (3/5): COD CROQUETTE: 3 golf sized croquettes. Tasty but it felt like a tease. I wanted more. You could pop the whole thing in your mouth & it was gone so quickly (4/5): CEVICHE COMBO: The seafood tasted fresh & balanced. Served with blue corn tortilla chips (3/5): PINK TARTARE: Unmemorable, the only thing I could remember where the PLANTAIN CHIPS that accompanied it (3/5): CHARRED OCTOPUS: One SKINNY octopus leg that was cut up by the server at table side. The side of chorizo was nice but $32 for a small plate? That's usually the price of an entree! I've definitely had a more worthwhile octopus at other restaurants (3/5): SPECIAL HALIBUT: This was their special of the day & the server really sold it to us but when it came out the table was thinking THAT'S IT? Lacking in seasoning & pizzaz (3/5): WHOLE ROASTED BRANZINO: One of the smallest branzinos I've ever been served. Definitely a light option with NO SIDES. (3/5): SPAGHETTI RUSTICHELLA: The pasta was al dente but sparse in the uni. The best out of all the entress but marginally If you're here for the ambiance, I get it. Located in a great location in Montrose where you can walk around & browse other shops after eating. For me, I'm glad I tried it but nothing had me wanting to come back. read more

Dined in on a Thursday at 12:00 pm for a party of 2 and was seated immediately. Ambiance is bohemian Tulum vibes. We ordered: SO RICH, SO PRETTY COCKTAIL: super stronggg!! Tasted like straight up cognac ROASTED OYSTERS: comes out super hot so prepare your tastebuds! Very good flavors PINK TARTARE: had a lot of herbs, it was just ok, the plantain chips that come with the dish is good ANGUS CHEESEBURGER: tastes like a good ole homemade burger, buns were soft and airy, pickles were made fresh SPAGHETTI RUSTICHELLI: strong crab flavor, can't taste much of the uni read more

Have been meaning to try Graffiti Raw since it opened and finally made it in on Mother's Day. The restaurant was less than half occupied which did not lend to an upbeat atmosphere but was actually nice because it was quiet enough for us to have a really nice visit with my parents. Our waitress could not have been better or more helpful. She made wonderful suggestions and was just an overall delight. For my main I ordered the forbidden rice bowl and subbed chicken for salmon. I don't know if that feels worth $31 but it was delicious and filling and I would absolutely order it again. Parking is kind of a pain in the *ss and I would be curious to see if it is more bopping on a Friday or Saturday night, but we will be back. read more

Very cute and updated Montevideo area. They are easy to find and valet parking. Now the food was blah!!!! Blah blah! I had the ceviche combo and that was good. Not the best I've ever had but good. For my entree I had the roasted chicken--- unseasoned even with the chimichurri. My friend had the lobster risotto. Mmmm go somewhere else. read more

Met up with a few friends for a late lunch early dinner on a Saturday. I made a same day reservation using Resy. The restaurant is easy to find but street parking is not. There is a parking garage across the street as well as valet. It's a very aesthetically pleasing restaurant with lots of natural light and boho-luxe bamboo like lights adorned throughout. Maria was the server and she was very kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Drinks: I tried The Jacy (spicy margarita). It is not something I'd order again. It was too tart for my palate and although I saw the jalapeños, I couldn't taste any of the spice. The next drink I tried was a Paper Plane--this is one of my favorite cocktails--I was pleased with this drink. I tried the Forbidden Bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The salmon was cooked to perfection. It also is a very nutritionally dense entree. My friends tried the crab and shrimp friend rice and enjoyed. Another friend tried a crudo and she enjoyed that as well. I'd definitely return to explore more of the menu. I would not park in the garage again though. Cost was $12.99 for ~3 hours. read more

Run. Don't walk, the octopus is out of this world (in my opinion). I have tried octopus in pretty any restaurant that has tasted it... and this was far superior. Davis the Manager on duty touched our table and came over multiple times to check on us. We had a couple of kitchen mess ups, but Davis and Daze (sorry if the spelling isn't correct) made it right and were amazing. Burger was delicious, and the mussels linguine were delightful. Loved the boho chic/relaxed look and feel, and we will definitely will be back for that Octopus! read more

We went here for drinks and decided to have a salad and ordered the Greek salad and added salmon. We were so shocked to get the salad when it came out it had the smallest piece of salmon I have ever seen in a restaurant. We didn't say anything because we aren't those kind of people. However I would not go here if you are hungry that is for sure. It was all iceberg lettuce absolutely ridiculous. We won't be going here ever again. read more

Came here one night for a girls night out! They have a great selection of mixed drinks. We tried the lustre pearl, el pepino and Mai tai! All three were the perfect mix of alcohol and flavor. Their food was pretty good!! I would pass up on the cod croquettes however because I feel like the portion size was small for the price ($17 for 3 balls) especially for the subpar flavor. However their steak frites was cooked perfectly medium and great flavor and the linguine alla vongole was soooooo delicious! The perfect seafood and buttery pasta flavor. Not pictured was their Ffiti stack and crab & shrimp fried rice. Both were very delicious as well! The chips served with the ffiti were so crispy and freshly fried and the raw fish was also fresh and delicious. The crab & shrimp fried rice was amazing and served with big chunks of fresh crab! Overall, their food, drinks and vibes were great! I would definitely comeback and would recommend for a date night or girls night out! read more

This coastal California vibe should've stayed out on the west coast where apparently flavor is not used. Service - Below average for a restaurant like this. For example, to pour wine and spill on my small plate and table (and not clean it up) is unacceptable. In addition, to put the wine towel (that should've been used to prevent drip) should have not been placed on a plate or personal belongings. If items such as extra jalapeños are an extra cost, thar also should be disclosed. $2 for a sprinkle of jalapeños, that's absurd. Food - did we forget to add spices / flavor. Burger was bland, chicken didn't have enough chimichurri, the paella couldn't have been more bland, and the salmon, well I could've made that at home for 1/4 of the cost. The tres leches was loaded with too much cinnamon and was quite terrible. For what you pay here, absolutely not worth it. If you're going to drop a decent amount of money for a meal, it needs to have taste and the restaurant has to have servers that care about their job and service. Don't waste your time, but more so, your money. read more

I've come here a couple of times and really enjoyed the look of the restaurant, the great drinks and wine program l, the bartenders (Des, Audrey, and Eaker) are fantastic and Gia is an excellent manager. All of them are so personable and make the experience 5 stars. My friend wanted to do his birthday here so we came here on a Friday. We ordered the charred octopus and calamari for starters. Both were delicious and had a good amount of saltiness and acid to the dishes. Also ordered the Regalis Caviar Osetra (they have Hackleback, too) and it's served with tater tots and crème fraiche. I asked for plantain chips and I had never had Regalis Caviar Company before and their osetra was just as good as any out there. Entrees were the mole ribs, savory but not sweet at all. The steak frites with the chimichurri, and the branzino (deboned and two filets) with garlic and parsley. The table also ordered the forbidden bowl and linguine and clams. We ordered some great wines too at excellent by the bottle pricing. Dais, our server also ensured we got dessert, which was also great. I'll be back next week for sure. read more

Ambiance, is so California chic. The place is kind of small, and I actually love that. The restaurant felt very quaint and private. The service was quick and staff were all polite. They offer complementary valet next-door, just don't forget to validate your ticket. All of the ceviches on the menu sounded so good. We chose to go with family style dining and shared the red snapper, jicama, mango, and avocado one. It comes with some lightly salted crispy chips that pair perfectly with the ceviche. The main course we decided on was the clams and linguini that came in a white wine sauce with some mild spice (it does come spicier, but we told them mild). The pasta was so tender and the clams so juicy. The amount of sauce was light and aromatic. A great compliment to the dish, without being overwhelming, like some places. For dessert, we had the chocolate tart with pistachio crust and berry compote with a side of chocolate hazelnut ice cream. That was the cherry on top! I highly recommend coming here. I can't drink, since I'm expecting, but the drink/cocktails looked and sounded good too. read more
