WOW WOW WOW. So happy I finally got to try this famous treasure! I of course got the black raspberry chocolate chip and just writing this is making my mouth water again. Those huge chunks of chocolate chip just melts in your mouth. Their menu offers flavors for every single person to walk out and be so happy while enjoying ice cream! Great menu options, great service, and overall freaking amazing ice cream!

I have been to many Graeter's in my day, and this Mariemont location is lovely. I arrived on a Saturday night before a movie (around 9:30pm) - the place was packed! The line moved quickly - to be served, you order all your ice creams with one person, then pay together. This works well for families with multiple kids/orders. The person who makes your ice cream (generally) also checks you out. It's a smart system because they already know what you ordered. Besides the ice cream being fantastic, don't be afraid to ask for samples of anything - I highly recommend trying the seasonal flavors. They say they don't last long and that's the truth! To try something new, I asked the woman who was serving us to tell me more about the Coffee Chillers - I wanted to order the Vanilla Coffee Chiller but was hesitant. She admitted that the caramel or mocha Chillers were more popular. I decided to try the Vanilla anyway - it comes with vanilla ice cream, espresso syrup and whipped cream, served like a milkshake. I loved it! When we were finished paying and walking away, she asked me how it was. I like that she went out of her way to make sure I was satisfied. She even said "We like to make sure you walk out of here happy." It sounds cliche, but she seemed to genuinely care about our experience. There is a small free parking lot right across the street. Always free water & cups. The front has seating that can fill up quick, but there is a whole back area as well! Highly recommend joining their Sweet Rewards program.

Graeter's is always pretty good. This location like the others didn't disappoint. We always order cookies n cream because that's our favorite flavor from here. I love how sometimes you get random huge chunks of Oreo cookie. Although Graeter's charges $5.00 for one scoop their scoop size is pretty big. We usually can share one scoop in a cup and that's enough.

Ice Cream shop, bakery and candy store all in one...but really, it's all about the ice cream. Graeters is a Cincinnati institution. It's one of the places people hear about when they are about to visit or move here. That's how we found out about it. In fact, I heard about Graeters before I heard anything else about the city of Cincinnati. So, it's a must do thing when you come here. Depending on which store you patronize, the style will be a little different. Some are just for ice cream. Others have baked goods and candy. This one in Mariemont is just like an old fashion ice cream parlor or shoppe (you know, with two Ps and an E). Here are my favorite flavors (in no particular order): Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip Original Salted Caramel Mocha Chocolate Chip Raspberry Sorbet Coffee Peach (seasonal) Cinnamon (seasonal) with hot apple topping There are other seasonal flavors as well. A new one is included each month for a two-month run. Plus, this Graeter's has Star. She usually works evenings. Ask for her. She's a wealth of Graeter's history. (...and tell her that I sent you. She may not know who you're talking about. Just mention the house warming.) ;-) Four stars only because there's no public restroom and most of the flavors and toppings lean to the overly sweet side. In all other ways, though (and because of Star, of course), this is five star stuff.

Whenever my parents visit from Georgia, this is the first place they want to eat. Best ice cream in Ohio! Alittle pricey, but I alway say you get what you paid for, which is quality and delicious icre cream!

Graeter's is a busy place one Friday night.

It's one thing to close early, but to post a handwritten sign calling the event "stupid" was shockingly unprofessional. It's figuratively and literally more than a bike race, it's a fundraiser that supports cancer research and survivorship through the CancerFree KIDS Pediatric Cancer Research Alliance. It brings thousands of people together for a cause that matters deeply, while also creating one of the most electric, family-friendly atmospheres you'll find in Cincinnati. From a business perspective, this was a massive missed opportunity. The streets were filled with people eager to support local shops and enjoy the events which is exactly the kind of audience any small business would hope for. Instead of welcoming that energy, Patty's turned it away and insulted the very people walking by their storefront. I love supporting small, local businesses, but this kind of response shows a disconnect from the community that makes Hyde Park special. I hope they reconsider how they respond to events like this in the future.

We used to watch their roaster in their store stir and tumble the raw cacao beans they import directly from farmers and co-ops around the world. The aroma was subtle and warming. On this visit (Dec 2025), we realize they had recently moved production across Ohio River to the Eastside in Covington KY :-( The store had a sweet lovely aroma. It was filled with chocolate products that they make themselves. Bars of white chocolate, milk chocolate, flavored, and as dark as 80%, assorted candies, ground cacao, drinking chocolate mix, and even a cacao & chai & adaptogen beverage mix. We went for dark chocolate bars that we hadn't seen before. $14 Limited-edition 70% Thailand Dark Chocolate, sourced from the 10-year-old family-run Khun farm and harvest-station for about 40 neighbors. It had a subtle fruit sweetness and slight acidity, balancing the intensity of rich deep flavors, more savory than bitter. I think that Maverick's methods smooth the bitterness of the darker chocolates. A number of family-members found a bar of Dark chocolate under their tree this holiday season :-) Founded in 2014, Maverick's is a treasure. Next time we get here, we're gonna plan a drive 15min south of here to take a tour (with samples :-) of their factory and soak in that roasty aroma :-)

I also purchased some truffles to take home, and I purchased enough to get a box but they were out of the small boxes. I told her I was traveling quite a distance and was concerned they would not make it. She said they would be fine and put them in a plastic bag. She could've offered the next size up in box! And indeed they did not make it. Hate I wasted money on these.
