    1st Tee Honor Guard
    Dianne B.

April Memorial for My husband. The restaurant provided an amazing venue. The food was so fresh and beautifully presented. We used the sound system and had the tables decorated with flower arrangements from a local. They provided a display table which was perfect for our pictures and memorabilia of his military and professional life. The hosted bar was a wonderful complement to the buffet. The military honor guard presented the flag ceremony under a blue sky and above the greenest tee. The magic of this day was indescribable as we saluted and the sound of the 21 Gun Salute and Taps echoed over the the greens , the mountains and the Graeagle Creek. Thank you to the staff and management for a flawless delivery. If you are looking for a place of venue, this is it.

    Nice golf course

This golf course has more of a forested wilderness setting than some of the other golf courses in this area as there doesn't seem to be any housing development right on the course. The crowd here seems a little more low key casual. The dining options here are more casual as well. There is a nice restaurant with a decent menu serving breakfast you you early risers wanting to hit the links first out. Parking is easy. There's a full bar here, so if you wanna do shots after your game, then you can! The staff seemed young and friendly.

Wow, just a gorgeous course. Very well maintained. Tricky 2 tiers greens on some holes but that is ok. 1st time I played it and was solo and playing with someone with local knowledge would have helped. Can't wait to play again. I really enjoyed myself. Friendly staff too.

As a Type A over-planner, I was determined not to let that happen. But the moment we arrived at Twenty Mile House, I realized I didn't have to be the control freak I usually am. The TMH team handled every detail with such calm professionalism that I was able to relax and truly enjoy the experience. From the very beginning, we were impressed. Our virtual tour with Rachel made us fall in love with the venue; Kevin and Karen worked with us to make our budget work, Joe gave us a wonderful tour when we returned after booking; and Ashleigh patiently answered all of my questions--no matter how late I sent them. The venue itself feels like something out of a storybook. Every one of our guests raved about the beautiful setting, the accommodations, the incredible staff, the ceremony site, and even the fact that there wasn't a restrictive noise ordinance. Everything exceeded our expectations. Not a day has gone by since our wedding that I haven't said, "I wish I could do it all over again." Choosing Twenty Mile House was one of the best decisions we made, and I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Super friendly and helpful service from Ashley at the front desk upon check-in. She gave me a quick but thorough lay of the extensive land and I was off. Checked out my comfortable upstairs standard king room. The Inn is just two floors, two wings, accessible via an elevator and a single tall flight of stairs from a lovely, light lounge area just off the front desk in the main lobby (and end-of-wing stairways). My room was clean, properly appointed and icy cold upon arrival. The bed was comfortable with plentiful covers and a variety of pillows, although the towels could use a refresh. I headed away from the Inn and up the hill to the two other main buildings: Altitude, the recreation center housing Middle Fork Bistro + Bar, and the Frank Lloyd Wright Lodge, hosting FIFTY44 Restaurant & Bar, spa, pro shop and nice view at the top of the mountain (5,044' elevation). While these are all connected by walking trails, I simply didn't have the time to walk there and back from the Inn, so opted to drive up the hill. Maybe my least favorite part about the property, is having to leave the premises of the Inn to take in the majority of the amenities. But they are quite nice and worth the effort of a quick drive (or maybe the longer uphill walk to reach, time permitting). After taking in the view at the top, I spent most of my time at the rec center, Altitude. This place rocks! So many fun things packed into a single wonderful space. Notably, perhaps the best stream room I've ever enjoyed, tucked into the back bath/locker/shower room. Don't miss it! Also a nice fitness room, 20-seat theater, children's room, and game room with foosball, billiards and shuffleboard, assorted Wii games and large TVs, and hang space. Board games to check out at the building's front desk. I would happily return whenever I'm in the general vicinity!

There were no lights available in the building, including no visible emergency lighting, and the elevators were not working. Our room was originally on the second floor, but because I have knee problems and cannot easily use stairs, the night staff member was very kind and helped us by finding a room on the ground floor. I truly appreciated her professionalism and willingness to help during a difficult situation. What left a negative impression was the interaction at checkout the next morning. Instead of acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the power outage, I felt as though we were expected to be grateful for being placed in a different room because it happened to be one of the resort's nicer accommodations. To be clear, the room change was necessary because of the resort's power issue, not a special favor. While the property itself remains beautiful, the lack of emergency lighting and the response from the front desk the following morning raise concerns about both guest safety and customer service. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm not sure I would choose to stay here again. If this was other hotel chain I will be even refunded because the inconveniences!!

It was…read moreeverything that we hoped for: a bit off the beaten path with absolutely stunning views highlighting the mountains and trees that we love so much, but close enough to Truckee to make it accessible for all of our guests. And the owners, Fred and Pam, are the kindest, most welcoming people that go above and beyond to make you feel like family and make your day perfect! We cannot thank them or recommend their property enough! We visited Mitchel's Meadows on our first day of wedding venue touring. We had multiple tours and hours of driving planned for the day and set aside about 45 minutes for our stop at Mitchel's Meadows, but ended up staying for close to 2 hours chatting with Fred as he showed us all over the property, before inviting us in for hot chocolate and homemade treats around the fireplace in their home. It was a cold November day and they had put away most things for the winter, but the magic and love for their property showed through and we knew this is where we would celebrate our day. We chose to have our ceremony on a grassy area off the back of the home (which we had access to the entire day and was where the bridal party got ready!) overlooking the meadow. This is the main ceremony area, but the owners also gave us the option to have it anywhere we choose on the property to make the day our own. Our First Look was in an aspen grove a short hike from the house (which the owners had created a path to, complete with wood crossings over marshy areas) by the Little Truckee River. Our reception area was adjacent to another meadow just up from the house. The owners have built out an ideal space with pavers and tent, string lights over an outdoor dance floor, a bar, multiple seating areas (both around the dancefloor and in the meadow!) and permanent restrooms - all included with the venue rental. We loved moving throughout the property as the day progressed and enjoying all of the different spaces. The property is truly magical and words, nor photos, can do it justice. Other amenities to highlight: In addition to access to the main house, there is also a workshop where the groomsmen got ready, multiple firepits and heat lamps to keep warm when it cools down at night, and lots of odds and ends from previous weddings to help fill out decor or save the day if something was missed or forgotten. Additionally, the owners provide a golf cart shuttle service between different points of the venue day of. And as previously stated, the tent is a great bonus. This isn't usually something that comes with a venue and is typically rented separately, but it provides a great "indoor" backup peace of mind for weather. On our wedding day, we lowered the clear flaps of the tent to keep out the wind, but the clear material still allowed us to enjoy the surroundings. Finally, the property is yours for the entire weekend; Fred & Pam only book one wedding per weekend, making coordinating rentals, setups and teardowns super easy and stress free as it does not all need to happen on the wedding day. We are absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out and the memories we made at this magical spot in the forest. Another shout out to Fred and Pam for the HUGE role that they played in it! The care they have for the property and the amount of work they put into it truly makes it special. They are beyond accommodating and immensely helpful. They take the time to get to know you and are genuinely invested in helping you make your day the memory of a lifetime.

Chris and I had the absolute pleasure of getting married at Mitchells Meadows this past weekend…read more The venue is unbelievably special and should be at the top of the list for any couple seeking a gorgeous outdoor wedding in the Tahoe area. Chris and I had looked at most venues in Tahoe and narrowed in on Mitchells Meadows for the following reasons: 1) It offers a rare combination of feeling truly remote while offering infrastructure: The venue is tucked away in the Tahoe National Forest in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with a property featuring picturesque streams and large meadows with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Our first visit to the property took our breath away -- it offers stunning beauty and feels really off the beaten path (no cell service onsite -- which we LOVED). You have to see it for yourself to really understand. Simultaneously, however, it feels accessible -- It's only a 30 minute drive from the venue to Truckee, where there are many hotels and airbnbs for guest housing. The property itself comes equipped with key infrastructure which would typically make such a location challenging for event planning -- a tent with flooring, a dance floor under the stars, string lighting, bathrooms with a view of the mountains, a gorgeous wooden bar hand-built by the owner. 2) The owners are incredibly special people: Pam and Fred are the heart and soul of the venue. There wasn't a time when we visited the property when Pam didn't invite us up into the house to have iced tea and baked goods. Fred is known to build things custom for weddings on property and is constantly working to ensure that the space is manicured and perfectly maintained. Pam and Fred clearly love their property and work to ensure that every couple getting married there has a perfect, tailored experience. 3) No wedding at Mitchells Meadows is exactly the same: Chris and I did not want a cookie cutter wedding and we visited a number of venues that felt like "wedding mills." Mitchells Meadows is the opposite of this. Each couple can really design their personal vision -- there are a myriad of choices for ceremony location, for first look, for cocktail hour, and the space really becomes a scenic pallet for couples to create the experience of their dreams. With that said, Pam/Fred make it easy, guiding couples with best practices and offering built in infrastructure (For every guest, there will already be a tent, bar, dance floor, fire pits, and stage already available at the venue, for no additional cost). 4) There are no noise ordinances: This was actually huge for us in the decision process, as we wanted guests to be able to dance late into the night without interruption. Almost all of the venues on Lake Tahoe (if not all) have a strict noise ordinance of 10 pm. As it's fully tucked away, Mitchells Meadows allows its patrons to party with amplified music until midnight, giving much more time / flexibility around the celebration. Mitchells Meadows was such a special experience for us and enabled us to throw the most perfect mountain wedding. Our guests danced under the stars, lounged by fire pits late into the night, and marveled at the views. We've heard so much feedback that this was the most amazing venue people had ever seen. We couldn't recommend Mitchells Meadows more strongly for anyone planning a Tahoe wedding. Go and see it for yourself and you'll understand immediately.

After getting engaged, I submitted an inquiry but was too excited to wait, so about a week later I called for more information. I spoke directly with the owner, Steve Hines. We discussed pricing and decided to schedule a tour. Since we live over two hours away, I explained that we were hoping for a weekend appointment. Steve told me he would email me, and we scheduled a tour for August 9, 2026 at 2pm. We confirmed the appointment and drove over two hours to see the venue. We arrived a few minutes early and went inside, but all the lights were off and no one was there. I called out for Steve several times with no response. Just before our scheduled 2pm tour, I called him and left a voicemail asking where we should meet. A few minutes after 2, I called again to see if he was simply running late. I called both phone numbers that were provided, only to find that the office number forwarded directly to his cell phone. At that point, I became genuinely concerned that something might have happened to him. We walked around the property looking for anyone, went back inside calling his name, and even drove over to the rental properties he also owns after seeing a work crew nearby. We truly thought there might have been an emergency. Instead, we spent over an hour waiting, calling multiple times, and sending a text message. That text was read, yet we never received a reply, an apology, or any explanation for why no one showed up. As of August 12, 2026, we still have not received a single response. To make matters worse, the venue was unlocked with no staff present, and there was trash left on the bar along with cups sitting outside. This venue was the one I was most excited to see, so it's incredibly disappointing that the decision to book there was taken away by a complete lack of communication. I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations happen. What I cannot understand is choosing not to communicate with people who have invested hours of their day, traveled a significant distance, and arranged their schedules for an appointment that you agreed to. We spent over four hours driving, plus more than an hour waiting at the venue, only to be completely ignored. A 30-second text saying the appointment needed to be canceled or rescheduled would have shown basic courtesy and respect for our time. If this is the level of communication provided before a contract is even signed, it did not give us confidence that our wedding day would be handled any differently. We chose to take our business elsewhere, and I sincerely hope no other couple has to experience the same level of disregard for their time.
