Updating my review**…read more Wise County Biscuits is easily one of our absolute favorite breakfast spots in Pittsburgh. Everything they do feels elevated and thoughtfully crafted, taking classic comfort breakfast food and giving it minor tweaks to transform it into something truly special. Careful on weekends and in general, as this hot spot can have long lines! You can call ahead though and ask. You go to the counter and order, grab a number and seat and they then bring your food out to you. You can also do takeout. If you have a dog or it's a nice day, you can grab a seat outside. The staff have always been cordial and they are on top of keeping the place clean. Sometimes I feel like they could have another waiter because I feel bad, but honestly I've never felt like it's impacted the wait time. The menu is packed with solid options that are deeply satisfying and filling. Their signature biscuits are incredibleeeee. I'm talking flaky, buttery perfection that serves as the ultimate base for a phenomenal breakfast. To top it off, they serve De Fer coffee, which is an automatic win for any morning routine. A special shout-out has to go to their sides and flavor pairings. Their potatoes are seasoned to absolute perfection, and their bacon jam is a masterpiece of sweet and savory depth (even as someone who tries to not eat pork and if I do I try to understand the source and ensure proper care of the animal), the flavor profile is undeniably stellar. If you want a cozy, high-quality breakfast experience that never misses, this North Side gem is an absolute must-visit. We leave completely happy every single time.

I usually go for the "build your own" biscuit with egg, pimento cheese, and their house‑made chicken sausage patty. The sausage is delicious and has a homemade quality. We also love grabbing a few baked goods to go. Their house‑made granola is honestly some of the best I've ever had, super crunchy, fresh, and totally addictive. It's definitely not a light breakfast, but it's a fantastic spot with a warm, Southern flair. A local favorite for a reason, and one we'll keep returning to.

The winery uses California grapes and other, locally-sourced fruits and traditional winemaking techniques to produce small-batch, handcrafted wines. They sell their wines through their website, at a couple local businesses, and at some farmers markets and festivals. I first encountered Mingo Creek Cellars several months ago when the owner, who is one of the very best review writers on Yelp, kindly gifted me a bottle of sangria. As he released more wines, I had to try more! In recent months, I purchased three other wines: Blushberry, sweet strawberry-apple; McFarlane's Blueberry Battalion, sweet blueberry and named after Major McFarlane who fought in the American Revolutionary War and the Whiskey Rebellion; and Blackpaw Treaty, a semi-sweet blackberry cabernet named after the secret agreement. I loved all of these wines! Mingo Creek Cellars currently sells many other wines: Cavalier Cab, a dry red cabernet sauvignon; Bradford's Blaze, a dry syrah; Whispers of the Hill, petite sirah; Militia Whisperer, Gewürztraminer; Rebel Scout, a dry riesling; Forbidden Flame, a semi-sweet with raspberry and dragonfruit.

This usually sets my tone as to what I'll be expecting in that visit. I am happy to say, the restrooms are probably cleaner than mine at home. Staff was very attentive, organized and friendly. Seems most of their business is take out so she was busy. I being alone and waiting for soccer practice to be over, decided to eat in. I got the tofu with bean curd. An order of spring rolls (not much filling in them but there are two!). My personal preference in Asian restaurants is to have fresh mustard but this place being they have large take out has the watery mustard which is a bummer. The tofu was slightly wok fried so that was nice. Not an over abundance of sauce, just right. Plenty of tofu but could use a tad bit more vegetables. Bottled water, pop and iced tea are the drink options. Overall good food for the price. I can see why they are busy. Only thing I wished they did not have would be styrofoam plates and plastic forks and spoons. I'd wish they'd have something a bit more eco friendly. The girl whom was busy at the front did come over to table check me which is a huge bonus. Nice. We will definitely be back.
