Be sure to ask what the price is going to be before you drop anything off here! I brought a dress in to be hemmed... A full length dress, but a very simple straight hem. The dress is lined, but I can't imagine it took her more than an hour to do, if that. Unfortunately, I assumed the price might be $40 or so, so I didn't ask before I left it there. Had she told me the price it ended up being, I would have gone elsewhere. IT WAS $76 ! At that price, I was halfway to a new dress! Needless to say, I had to hand over my credit card and just take my dress... I could barely manage a whispered "thank you" as I walked out the door. I was beyond stunned. Am I completely off-base? Should it cost over $75! to do a simple hem - no ruffles, no extra pleats - just a straight hem? I learned two valuable lessons with this: First: DON'T go to Grace's Alterations next time, and wherever I do go, ask the price before leaving the garment. read more

I took my prom dress here to get about 2 inches taken off the train of my dress. Prom day came and I realized they did not hem the sequin layer of my dress, however they hemmed the fabric under it. I lost tons of sequins and beads of my dress after spending lots of $$$ for the alterations. I brought a relatively high end suit from Europe to Sunny's for minor alterations. The owner was attentive and friendly, and the store is clean and well organized even on busy days. Sunny's matched the thread and stitching quite well, did not leave the creases or indentations some high volume tailors' sewing equipment leave behind, and got the sizes right. I waited a week for a pair of pants to be adjusted at the waist and cuffed at the bottom, I receive a text on Sunday telling me to pick my pants up after 3PM. When I arrive my pants have been hemmed but no alterations done to the waist. Save your time and money and visit the the other alterations place in the same building. read more

It doesn't matter if she thinks your alteration is worth her time or not, she treats you with respect and does her best to help you out with whatever it is that you were needing. Second, the work she does is fantastic. I almost never have a trouble with Alterations and I have been there over 20 times. Third, the alterations are always ready on time! There has been a rare circumstance where she has contacted me ahead of time to let me know something wasn't ready but I never show up and discover that oops, you made a waste a trip and nothing is ready.
