a person holding a sandwich in foil

After getting done with business locally, I came here to get some lunch before heading home. This is actually a small shop and deli, although I originally had the impression that it was a restaurant (from what the folks at the VA told me). I walked in, and made my way to the back of the store, where the deli sits. I perused their many options, and decided to get the chicken pesto panini. While the cook was busy prepping my food, I checked out the rest of the store. I got some chocolate and a bottle of water as well. After paying, I went to a counter to eat my food. There is limited space on the counter, but the place was not crowded at the time. The sandwich was amazing! And the chocolate rounded out my meal well. I was left satisfied, as I made my way back home. I'll consider this place the next time I find myself in this part of Manhattan.

First time in here today. Bought healthy popcorn (in photos), frozen dark chocolate bananas and a little container of very stale Lo-mein from the hot buffet :/ Pros: conveniently located to my apartment. Clean store and very organize! Great array of different cuisines (large Asian and gluten free sections), hot buffet is $9.99/lb, overall a large section of every item any health conscious person could ever want Cons: expensive as hell, I understand it's a "gourmet food store" but don't price your regular Oreos at $8 when they're $4.99 elsewhere I'll most likely be back since it's so convenient, but only out of necessity or just to pick a few things up in a hurry. Would never do a full grocery haul here.

Look, store bought sushi is VERY different from ordering at a restaurant. Just like fresh vs frozen pizza, it's in its own category. I've had Whole Foods, wegmans, shop rite store sushi. If the grocery store has sushi, I've had it. And wow, I would totally double dip if I'm in a pinch and get Gracefully's sushi again. It actually tastes like fish. It's not frozen/icy, doesn't look discolored and didn't have an odor to it. The rice was solid, a little on the sweet side. But overall great fish portion and CHEAP. would recommend and come back.

I come here for their oatmeal at least 2 times per week in the winter season. Their oatmeal is so creamy and milky. love how their oatmeal is very thick and Gracefully have the best oatmeal!! I always put some raisins and cinnamon on top of it to give the extra sweetness to it. You don't even need extra sugar. I also tried their chocolate croissants one time. It was decent. I had better croissants in Manhattan. Besides breakfast food, I also tired their sushi. There's a sushi bar they make on the spot. It was decent and the price is relatively low. It's about $8-$10 depends on which one you want. They also have salad and sandwich section as well. That I have yet to try. Gracefully also have produces and a good selections of beverages, cakes, dairy products and snacks from all over the world. Just keep in mind the prices are not the cheapest.

Good products, outrageously expensive. Check-out staff can be rude if you aren't fast enough for them. Better choices in the neighborhood.

Okay, this saddens me, but I've visited & lived in NYC for decades & have a Trader Joe's burlap bag…read moreolder than the median age of this store's workers. I'm struggling between staying positive & candor: the problem is that the average worker in NYC is less bright than most of the rest of the country. Ouch. I know. But I have encountered this very roughly a hundred times over the years. Sadly, this TJ's follows the above pattern. It's a case-study that perhaps Harvard's business school should analyze: take a great franchise, slowly muck it up by degrading ingredients, fill it with well-meaning folk, and ignore, forgive me, intelligence in the hiring process. I'll only cite recent examples, though I've a treasure trove: [1] no TJ steel cut oats, polite friendly inquiry when it might be re-stocked, answer "discontinued," fully stocked next day after I've bought Bob's Red Mill via walmart.com; [2] all raisins gone in the entire store, again cheerful what's-up? answer "will get in next month," fully stocked next day, ditto w/ walmart.com for organic (!) alternative 1/3 (!!) the price; [3] No skim milk of any variety (organic, reg, lactose-free, or from various ruminants) at 8p, gentle inquiry, "we received more at noon & hope to bring it out," then 1 employee spends all her time exclusively straightening containers at the back of the top shelf. It's important to add that their former great gift of freeing us from reading each set of ingredients like some rejected script for "Portlandia" has now been replaced by their cutting corners that affect our health and their value. Cases in point, albeit there are many: [1] Palm oil has replaced nearly all other oils in hundreds of their products (I'm not one of these crazies, but palm oil is indeed destroying rain-forests and 'extincting' apex species: 25-30M hectares, the size of ARIZONA (!) https://essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/5111/2024/); it's the least healthy oil in widespread use today; but it is CHEAP. [2] Try to find a breakfast cereal without added sugar; there are none; their shredded wheat with sugar-frost coating is cheaper than w/out. [3] The average age of their apples are 9 to 14 months old https://www.rd.com/article/supermarket-apples-10-months-old/; very little of their fruit is genuinely fresh. I've many more examples than these 6, but you get the idea. If you go 2 hours before closing, you must negotiate a phalanx of boxes and employees darting about re-stacking such that it's hard to even move down the aisles. The place is still pretty clean and the employees friendly, but I'm sorry, it's really a dumbed-down version of a formerly great franchise, and I've been to TJs all over CA, in OH, VA, upstate NY, CT, NJ, OR, just to name a few.

We have developed a congenial friendship which was founded on La Fermière yogurts. Emre knows that I price shop so invariably I know when the time is right to buy these delicious yogurts at Eden. I often buy Siggi yogurts as here they are $1.99 each. The ladies - Dolores, Affou, Mamata, Savita, Tofu - at the checkout are friendly, kind and remember customers. A few speak French which I practice with them. Being originally Greek, the Dolmas in the prepared food section, are plump and particularly tasty. It's worth buying a few to take home. Adam looks taciturn but always is kind to me. He is behind the deli counter preparing sandwiches and always gives me a quarter pound of the Jambon de Paris. Miguel and Medina are also here. A loyalty card is worth having and once having accumulated many points I paid the princely sum of $1.61 for a pretty bouquet of roses in assorted colors that cost $11.99. Now that's a steal! Eden Gourmet is the sister supermarket to my beloved sadly closed Eden Gourmet of 14th street. This too is packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, dairy, chicken and meats. A large variety of sparkling waters, frozen entrees, ice creams and assorted temptations are here too. A small bakery has cakes and pastries available. I pop in often to get milk or to see what's new and always to say hello to everyone. I always feel happy coming to Eden Gourmet Marketplace!

You'll get all the usual grocery store sections, including fresh produce and a deli counter in the back. There isn't a ton of variety, with maybe two or three options for most items. But those options are consistently high quality. Whoever is stocking the shelves has good taste! The setup for paying is a bit weird, they've got a long counter up front in lieu of the usual registers with lanes. It can make lines a bit confusing during busier times, but not a dealbreaker by any means.
