I was pleasantly surprised to find actual Asians working in here (I am half-Asian), and I found the food to be pretty good and on par with any typical Americanized Chinese buffet. There was a great variety of vegetable, meat, and seafood items, as well as an array of desserts, salad, and fruit. I saw many patrons coming in and filling a plate for take-out, and I think I will try that as well. Service was friendly, and the prices were extremely reasonable. The interior is a bit run down, but the overall atmosphere is comfortable. There are two entrances - one facing the street and one in the back - so there are plenty of places to park. My only real heartburn is that there is an aquarium with several fish that are way too large to be in it. The poor fish didn't have room to even move. I hope China Buffet sticks around, because it's a great place to satisfy a Chinese food craving without breaking the budget, right here in Hibbing!

As an Asian American, there is absolutely NOTHING remotely authentic about this menu, in fact, it reeks a bit of cultural appropriation and borders on offensive. The fact that they use the term "oriental" to describe their cuisine speaks volumes. I ordered an array of items to try, and each one was more disappointing than the previous one. It seemed like the chef just put popular dish items on the menu and then whipped up whatever he/she had back there. At one point, I honestly thought I was being punked...that some of the dishes were a joke. See photos of my food items to judge for yourself. The "chow mein" is especially embarrassing. To add insult to injury, each dish is upwards of $11, and you could pan fry some top ramen noodles that tasted better than these dishes. The entire restaurant staff was Caucasian, including one of the chefs, who I saw come from the kitchen to hand deliver a take-out order. I have a hard time coming to terms with believing that this is what Midwest folks think is Asian cuisine, let alone GOOD Asian cuisine, especially when you have a decent Chinese buffet down the street. I have NO problem with restaurants serving "homemade" food, but don't try to pawn it off as anything remotely "oriental" when you haven't even made a basic attempt to recreate anything with any semblance of Asian flavor. I will say this - the staff was extremely warm and friendly, and the customer service was great. But sadly, that's not enough to get me to return.

We had Hannah as a server. She came over after about 10 minutes with no one telling us they'll be with us soon. The host sat us but no server told us be right there. When she finally did she said "ok did you want anything ?" With no smile no hello I'm Hannah. Just a plain angry unfriendly face. We all are in the hospitality industry so we smiled and gave her a chance and were polite. She took forever to come back to get our orders and again said a very curt "what do you want" instead of May I take your order or did you have any questions or were you ready to order. She started walking away before we got to say we wanted an app and were ready for entrees I had to stop her while she turned around and said oh sorry we're ready to order too. My parents shared a burger and she said want it cut in half ? But didn't get them a plate or give us plates for the app. Didn't offer refills or check on us. Food was not good. It used to be better. The waitress (she is really nice!) said 2 larges would be enough for the 5 of us and she was right - we had almost no leftovers (good thing, we were staying in a motel with no fridge), but it was a stretch (literally) to eat it all. I have to say, for a Northwoods pizza joint the crust was really good. Toppings not half bad either, and they really like to load up your pie with banana peppers. We had a great time. I noticed on the way to the men's room that they have a nice game area for the kids, and it looked well-used. Also liked the free popcorn, though I'm sure it makes lots of people thirsty enough to order another beer. Next year we try the wings!!!
