We had Hannah as a server. She came over after about 10 minutes with no one telling us they'll be with us soon. The host sat us but no server told us be right there. When she finally did she said "ok did you want anything ?" With no smile no hello I'm Hannah. Just a plain angry unfriendly face. We all are in the hospitality industry so we smiled and gave her a chance and were polite. She took forever to come back to get our orders and again said a very curt "what do you want" instead of May I take your order or did you have any questions or were you ready to order. She started walking away before we got to say we wanted an app and were ready for entrees I had to stop her while she turned around and said oh sorry we're ready to order too. My parents shared a burger and she said want it cut in half ? But didn't get them a plate or give us plates for the app. Didn't offer refills or check on us. Food was not good. It used to be better. I know I've had better experiences here and it's sad to see it go downhill

The resturant offers a cozy feel of being at home. This atmosphere mixed with the Minnesota sports theme is a great combination. The sandwiches named after family members are second to none. Me and my family love this place. We come weekly for the meat raffle on Wednesdays. With Ashley and Jenna as our servers we are always well taken care of. Can't wait to keep coming back to the wonderful atmosphere. read more

Fitz asked MIL to cut the steak for him multiple times and argued that it was perfect since his wife cuts the meat every morning. Frustrated with how MIL was being treated, my partner asked Fitz to get her fish instead and be done with it. After a bit of back and forth and raised voices on both sides, my partner apologized and began explaining his protectiveness by telling him that MIL is currently going through chemotherapy. Instead of de-escalating the situation, Fitz leaned over the table and sneered, "I'm sorry you have cancer, I had cancer too!" at MIL. After that comment, my partner got up and left. Fitz followed him outside and from my view, jumped into a fighting stance and raised his fists at my partner. We walked away after that. Such a disappointing and most importantly, embarassing experience to have with visitors. Just stick to Whistling Bird if you're in town.
