Staff is SOO friendly and competent. I enjoy the professionalism, positive attitude of the front staff that takes my calls and arranges my appointments. My hygienist is thorough and very respectful of protecting herself and me during pandemic. I never get to see the dentist long. The second time, he glanced at my xrays and told the hygienist I was good to go. However, she called him and he says my hygienist used to be a dentist in the Philipines. That reassured me. I deducted points due to the very long wait for the first (last minute) visit. The most important thing is I feel safe during the pandemic and they are clean and thorough. They open the door for you, sanitize your hands twice, and take your temperature twice. read more

I'd give this business NO STARS if that was an option. I'm now traumatized by dentists after getting worked on here. I've never in my life had such horrific pain during any dental visits, I even told the dentist it hurt and all she just told me it was "pressure". After the tears in my eyes she continued working. I got a root canal done by them twice, both have failed and need to be redone because they got infected. They also told me that I had twelve cavities, I then visited another dentist (because there was no way I was going back to finish my root canal with them) to find out I had none! I am 7 months pregnant & had 2 operations performed on me: 3 extractions & 2 implants put in. Get ready for a lengthy yet thorough review... I called their dental office as a referral from a dear friend (thank you Max!) due to an emergency because of the excruciating pain I was experiencing that shot up from my teeth, through my jaw, cheek bone, and eye socket. They scheduled an immediate appointment the next day as soon as they opened. Dr. Nam sat down with me and asked about my past experiences with dental work and I admitted to prolonging any king of treatments due to past trauma I've had with dental work - which is why I needed so much done. He went through extensive measures to make sure that I felt at peace, comfortable, calm and reassured before he began any operations. He gave me the Royal treatment by laying me down in one of the operation rooms, dimmed the lights, turned on melodic music, and let me collect myself for about a half hour (it was much needed). While I was resting, Dr. Nam, along with the receptionists, finally got a hold of my OBGYN (her office was closed on a Saturday) to make sure we can proceed with the procedures that needed to be done and had her consent. We began the operation at 12pm & finished around 1:45pm - which I was awake for the entire time because of my pregnancy. I did not feel a thing! He was so attentive to my signals if I need him to pause for a moment and constantly checked my vitals to make sure I was where I needed to be to continue on with everything. I honestly can write an essay about how well a professional like Dr. Nam treated me with such care and attention - I haven't experienced this much care even when giving birth with my first son! My mind is absolutely blown. It is now almost 2hrs post-operation and I couldn't wait to get home and share my experience with everyone. Dr. Nam and his team are a God-send and he truly has a gift for what he does. The peace I felt was unreal and I'm so blessed and grateful to have such a God-fearing man operate on me after having neglected any treatment for so many years. Thank you, Dr. Nam. Dr. Eliza Berris is a great dentist. I was having a lot of pain in my teeth. So I made an appointment at Grace Dentistry and saw Dr. Berris. Based upon the initial check up, I needed 2 crowns and 3 fillings. I came back two weeks later and had my 2 crowns done and 1 filling. I followed it up the following week with 2 fillings. My crowns fit perfectly as well as my fillings. Dr. Berris uses the state of the art dental equipment. You will see X-ray pictures of your teeth in seconds. Everything went so smoothly and I don't have any pain in my teeth now. Dr. Berris is highly skilled and you can tell how good she is when she works your teeth. After my visit, I referred my wife and daughter for a check up. They both were very satisfied. Even the staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. My uncle and I received the best service here! The whole staff was extremely nice. We called in the morning and the same day we got an appointment. Even with this epidemic we felt safe in the office because it was very clean, they take up everyone's temperature, everyone is wearing mask and they have everyone sanitize their hands. This dentist is an absolute gem for many reasons, and especially for cash patients like myself. PROs: -The staff is wonderful. Everyone is kind and the assistants are efficient and knowledgeable. -The staff discusses procedures & pricing BEFORE doing anything. -Cash pricing is very fair and affordable ($100 for cleaning & x-rays, and $60 for just a cleaning). -The waiting area loungers are classy and comfy. The ONLY CON: -Saturday wait times. While I'm happy that the dentist is open on Saturday (most aren't), even the staff will tell you that the wait time is killer unless you're the first patient of the day. I personally waited 45 minutes past my appt time before I was taken back (however, the cushy loungers did help!). Overall: I'm very happy with Dr. Nam as my dentist, and would highly recommend him (just try to avoid Saturday appts if you can!) read more

I went to get the dreaaaded wisdom teeth removed a couple of weeks ago. I generally jump around from dentist to dentist, hoping to find a good one, and I turned to yelp for help. Sadly, the reviews for dentists are quite scarce around my parent's house (who else is gonna drive me home in my state of shock after getting 3 teeth removed!?!?), and luckily I found Dr. Nam. I called around to a couple of places, and by the tip of a coworker (she said to do preliminary judgments on the courtesy of their staff when asking questions), I called Dr. Nam's office and asked a bunch of questions about my insurance, and the procedure. I think the girl's name was Eileen? I can't quite remember... I'm horrible with names, but oh, she is a sweetheart. I scheduled my appointment for that following Saturday. The office was pretty easy to find- on the corner of Euclid and Imperial, and there's parking space, but not much. I think there was a garage sale sort of thing happening there when I went that day too, but we found a spot. My first impression of the place was that it was a little gaudy, but not in a bad way. The walls were brightly painted, and Dr. Nam's various degrees and certificates littered the walls. Anyway, I checked in, and I figured they'd only take a lookshies at my teeth, seeing that I was feeling a wave of sickness coming on. My throat hurt, and uh, I could've sworn I was getting sick... or nervous to extract my teeth. Dr. Nam saw right through my "sickness". He told me that he could take it out that day- "five minutes!" he promised me. "But I'm feeling sick!" I objected. "I just looked down your throat. You're fine." UH OH. Moment of truth. I specifically requested laughing gas, aka Valium, because I was so nervous. I've heard horror stories, and oh, were they horrible. He told me it wasn't necessary, but (after all the begging and pleading for it) if I really wanted it, he'd do it for me (another good sign- he wasn't trying to rip me off with unnecessary drugs or procedures). He was right! It actually only took like 5-10ish mins. He joked around, and really tried to make me feel at ease. He even played a Michael Bolton DVD for me to calm me down! I GUESS it wasn't as bad as I had suspected, and after the procedure was done, the nurse (also super nice- she did my cleaning) sat me down in a massage chair. That very same day he even personally called me to check up on me... not that I answered since I was sleeping off the holes in my gums... but I thought that was a nice touch anyway. I went back the next week to get my stitches out, and being the wuss I am, I was super nervous about it. He joked around a bit, and the same nurse who did my cleaning the previous week took them out. Snip snip, and I was done in under 5 minutes. After I got the stitches out, I ran into Dr. Nam and chatted with him for a bit. His undergrad was at UC Irvine, and then went to UCSF. Not too shabby.... Anyway, after this long review, that no one's probably reading now, I definitely recommend him. :) Also, tell him you found him on yelp.. I think he gets excited. Maybe that's why he was so nice to me... hehe, not that me or my teef minded at all! read more

I've been Dr. Nam's patient for 2 years now, and let me tell you that he's a great dentist. Up until I started going to his office, I dreaded going to the dentist. But he's really friendly and so is his staff. He knows how to minimize the pain and his office is very technologically advanced. Even my sister, who's deathly afraid of any type of doctor, was at ease. And I do mean deathly afraid, she was practically crying when we walked into the dental office. I think that Dr. Nam is really gifted at being a dentist, even when he's shooting novocaine in your mouth, he knows the exact spot that will numb the entire area. Not only that, Dr. Nam is just a great person. He goes on medical mission trips about once every two months and provides dental treatment to underprivileged people. His office also has good magazines to read while waiting. read more

Doctor Nam has been my dentist ever since i was a little boy and he has always been an excellent dentist. After our family moved to a different city i stopped going for dental appointments. Eventually my procrastination caught up with my teeth, and i was in agony. I heard he had opened a new dental office in La Habra so i set up an appointment. A good indicator of a good dentist is his staff and how long they stick around, his staff, especially the more senior dental assistants have been working for him since i can remember and they have always been kind and courteous. Dr Nam is a very nice man, who does his job well. My buddies all fear the dentist because of the pain they'd suffered as kids at the hands of other dentists, and i highly recommended Dr Nam to them. (im not sure if they have gotten over their dental phobias). I recommend Grace Dental Image Center to anyone who suffer from toothaches and pains. I called to set up an appointment for a cleaning (I was a new patient). The evening before the appointment, I realized I hadn't received a reminder from Dr. Nam's office regarding the appointment. So, I had to call the office to confirm. They did not have the appointment or any appointment for me in their system and did not know what happened! I rescheduled for another date. When I visited the office for my cleaning appointment, Dr. Nam was good and nice, however the dental hygienist was not good or nice. While I was at the office, I set up another appointment for 6 months later, requesting a different hygienist. The office associate entered the appointment information in to the computer system and GAVE ME A CARD WITH THE DATE AND TIME OF THE APPOINTMENT. Six months later the same thing happened. The business-day before the appointment, I realized I hadn't received a reminder, so I had to call the office to confirm. I called, there was no answer, so I left a message. I called a few times afterwards, however still no answer. And didn't receive a call back until 3 days later ... again, they said they didn't have the appointment or any appointment in their system. Horrible ... obviously, I am definitely not going back. Imagine all of the time I would have missed from work ... all for naught! And of this is only during a short period of seven or so months. Very disappointed, to say the least. FYI: When setting any appointment, I always add the date/time to my smartphone calendar, save the info, then re-open the appointment and reconfirm with the person - all during the same conversation (whether over the telephone or in person). read more

I'm getting married soon and Dr. Nam and his team helped my smile be its gleaming best through a teeth bleaching session. Now... I've never done this before. It took an hour. I had to sit very still under a yellow (laser?) light with a plastic thing holding my mouth wide open. It wasn't comfortable. But... an hour later, my teeth looked AMAZING. Totally worth the trouble. And, of course, he and his staff are super friendly and make the dentist a painless as possible experience. I still tense up when I hear the drill start... shudder... but I know it'll be alright with Dr. Nam at the helm! read more

I'm so happy I found D. Nam on Yelp! I had been searching for a dentist for a while now. He is super professional and knowledgeable! He took out my wisdom teeth a couple of weeks ago and had no complications. I was very happy to hear my own dentist take them out. Previous dentist are not trained to do this and would always refer me to other dentists. The procedure took 10 minutes, not counting the local anesthesia. He definitely knows what he's doing and I trust that he will recommended only needed procedures. The staff is great too, I always feel welcomed when I arrive and they always take me in right away without a long wait. Also they offer late appointments on Thursdays and appointments on Saturdays, works great with my work schedule. I recommend anyone looking for a dentist to give Dr. Nam a try! read more

Can only say good things about this place. First of all, the lady at the counter is super nice, and easy to talk to. Also, making appointments was real easy for me. They easily fit me to the schedule I was comfortable with. I went through removal of all four of my wisdom teeth. The whole process took about 40 minutes but with the help if laughing gas, the whole process honestly feel like 10 minutes. Laughing gas rocks. I have anxiety issues and started to break into panic, shivering and crying against my will, right before the procedure. Dr. Nam suggested the "gas that makes me relax" and reminded me of the pricing. It was a great choice. After the surgery, i had minimal swelling, minimal pain. Most of the swelling went down after about an hour. One day after the surgery, the pain is more like a discomfort. I really don't know what else to ask for. I think I found myself a go-to dentist, and I recommend this place to anyone. read more

Staff was very friendly and explained all charges involved up front. We were given a treatment plan, and that was laid out clearly. Dr.Nam is by far the most skilled dentist I have ever encountered. I had a wisdom tooth removal scheduled today and I was soooo nervous!!! Dr.Nam kept telling me it was going to be a quick easy procedure with absolutely nothing to worry about. However you still get scared!! LOL But he was RIGHT! Guys when I mean this I mean this... the procedure literally took like 3-5 secs and it was over. No pain, no swelling (weird right?), and minimal bleeding. Best dentist I've ever been to! Usually I hate going to the dentist and I avoid it at all costs. Unfortunately I needed to get ask four of my wisdom teeth out, but luckily Dr. Nam made me feel very at ease and comfortable. The procedure only took about 30 minutes and it didn't hurt at all. I wasn't even put to sleep! I was surprised when he had finished because I couldn't feel a thing! Most other dentists I had talked to said they could only pull two at a time because my bottom teeth grew in at such an extreme angle, but he took out all four. Two days after surgery I feel great! No pain, and minimal swelling! Probably one of the most experienced and skillful dentists I've ever been to! (And I've gone through 4 over the years). Even saw the new spider man the day of because I felt good! Needless to say I've found my dentist until he retires! As a kid I had a lot of fillings. Turns out fillings don't last forever The horrible part is they went bad all at the same time. My teeth needed everything from fillings to root canals. I was able to do this because his prices are good and his office is easy to work with. I am in his office once every two weeks because of the massive dental problems. I read the negative reviews and just can't believe them. Besides if you go in for an emergency, doesn't a Dr treat you til you see your primary Dr? These negative comments do not come near the experience I have had. He replaced all my fillings. I have actually referred people to this place since I had an emergency "root canal" done here about 6 months back. I thought Dr. Nam had done an amazing job since I had a severe infection and was delirious out of my mind in the moment when I had had the work done.. I do have dental insurance, but when I had gone in to see Dr. Nam as an emergency I had to pay out of pocket because my regular dentist wasnt opened during the weekend. I was fine with paying since I was in expreme pain and the yelp reviews were outstanding. Fast forward 6 months later about a week ago, re-infected root canal. I started feeling sensitivity where my molar had the root canal done. Then I got really sharp pain on that side of my mouth. I knew the signs. I quickly made an appointment with my dentist before the infection got out of hand again. After the x-rays were taken my dentist tells me that in fact I had not had a root canal but had a partial root canal and that is why it got re-infected because the roots were never treated. I saw the x-ray, the roots were swollen looking compared to the healthy tooth next to it. My dentist did all the work that Dr. Nam hadnt done completely. They also said that the dentist who had done the work (Dr. Nam) had'nt explained very well what he had done to my tooth. Which was true. The only thing he had told me after he finished his shatty job was that he could finish the work and crowning when I return to my fallowup for 1000 dollars. I never went back. F that. I'm not made of money. The only reason I was able to pay out of pocket here was cause I had literally just gotton my tax return at that time. Another thing that I had completely overlooked was that he had'nt used clamps or a plastic sheet to seperate my molar from my other teeth while he had worked on me. They also did'nt give me goggles to wear to protect my eyes. He just had me close my eyes. Looking back at my experience here I feel like I was just a walking piggy bank to him. His receptionists are extremely nice, but thats about it for the one star. read more

I've been going to Dr.Nam's dentist for about 8 years now. Back then when I was a kid I had bad memories about the dentist, but things changed when I went to Dr.Nam's dentist. First of all, Dr.Nam is reknown dentist and is an expert at what he's doing. He is really outgoing ,active, kind , and friendly. Always talking to his patient as if they were his friends. As far as I remember, my worst fear in my life was taking out my wisdom tooth ( I took 4 out all at once in this dentist ) 3 years ago . I nearly prayed God to just kill me at that spot. However, Dr.Nam told me everything will go on fine. And yes, i trusted him. ( PS: Dr.Nam is a devoted christian, going to missionaries and helping those who are in need :))) ) It felt like 15~30 min? and Dr.Nam told me I was finished. ????? Only thing I felt was gentle anesthetic shots that the nurses gave me, which only stings LITTLE. . think of it as getting poked by a sharp branch.. doesnt hurt :) As soon as I finished, I feared for upcoming pain and swelling since i took 4 out at once. But I dont know what happened, until the day I went to get my stiches out, there was absouletly NO swelling, NONE!! and no pain at all. I dont know why but it didnt hurt even little. So my pain pills were going into the trash can. Few days ago, I went there to get my tooth checked up. Ended up doing root canal and 5 cavaties. Knowing its Dr.Nam, I had 50/50 relief, and fear. But!! no pain as i expected. it took 3 days, each day not taking more then 10 min to do all the process. Only thing I felt? same as wisdom tooth. Only a little sting from the needles. I can gladly say that my fear of dentist went down from 100 to 1~10 now. Nurses, Dr.Nam still remembered me even after all those years. TALK ABOUT SERVICE!
